Liandrin's super buttering to the Nightborn to make Tyrande more $%^&*y than usual and now the overly friendly dialogue of the Blood Elves and Thalyssra snubbing the "Arrogant and walled off" Alliance in this quest makes this whole thing sound cheesy and forced. I already play both sides, but this just feels unfair to the Alliance side that invested just as much time and cared for the characters only to be talked about and having those same characters literally stabbing you in the back come next exspansion.
You know, given Alleria's effect on the Sunwell, I'm starting to wonder if she's not somehow responsible for Teldrassil's burning - not intentionally of course. I mean, it's a pretty easy story to write: these "lost" champions returning to the world they love only to find that their very presence threatens it.
"Dear Alliance Champion,Some nelfs were kind of rude when speaking to me while they sacrificed their own people to fight on my behalf, so now I'm going to join your enemies and kill all your friends, and your friend's families, and raze your allies' cities and maybe I'll help Sylvanas develop a plague to use against the humans and maybe I'll kill some of your worgen friends and take *their* city, and leave a note thanking you for saving *my* city, me personally, and all my people from enslavement and death by the Legion. Love, ThalyssraPS: Please send back the masquerade costume we gave you. We're not friends anymore."
The Nightborne do not join the horde just to spite the Alliance, but rather because they need to have someone for an ally - and the fact is that while the Blood Elves have a similar arcane and aristocratic society, the Night Elves just come across as religiously fanatic tree huggers worshipping a goddess they do not recognise. Also, considering how the Nightborne come across as a very proud people, being looked down upon the way the were by Tyrande might be enough to warrant going to war.In short, when there's a world war going on, you better pick a side or get caught in the middle - and the Nightborne had better ties with the horde.
Does this happen before or after the epilogue cinematics?
My goodness. You all are such lore nerds, and this thread has been a fantastic read. I necro'd my Vanilla account just to post here. You all freaking rock. I scoured for an opinion that might match mine, but I've been unable to find it.Here's my take. It makes sense for any Nightborne to have a material connection to the Sin'dorei for a deeper reason than just Tyrande is snippy and high on herself. That's part of her allure, but I digress. As a player who must play both sides every xpac, but am more Horde at heart... It's pretty plain to us why the Blood Elves joined us in the first place (queue overly dramatic theme). You betrayed us.When Quel'thalas fell, all of my Quel'dorei brothers and sisters were helpless before Arthas, your corrupted, amazing prince. Sylvanas was left to fend for herself as he ravaged and ultimately destroyed her so cruelly. Who stood at their side in their final hour? One of the former seven kingdoms of Arathor? Any night elf? Even one human? Mind you, the race unto which the Quel'dorei themselves bestowed the gift of magic. No, the Sin'dorei didn't join the Horde because of our awesome posture and beautiful cities (ugh), they joined because of treacherous betrayal in their hour of need. After all the Quel'dorei had given the kingdoms of the Alliance, you turned. Your backs. On us. While our city burned, while your prince decimated our lovely capital, and while he defiled our peerless Ranger-General's corpse and rose her as a banshee to slay her own people.Betrayed. Us.Given that legacy. And all of the "omg I'm addicted to mana I didn't listen to Malfurion halp," it's not only natural that the Shal'dorei see more than just a common bond. It is absolutely freaking necessary to stand with the Sin'Dorei. In our times of need, as elves. We were betrayed by Malfurion's hypocrisy (nah it's cool bro, Nelf Mages woot I wanted to kill my own brother! #NotAHypocrite), forsaken by our "Alliance," and summarily dismissed by an unrepentant Tyrande. I mean, can we get a break?Whew. I need a mana break. Also, even as Horde? White Lion forever!
I did it on my alliance toon, will I have to create a horde toon and grind the rep needed to unlock it completely.
It sounds like she speaks of fight against the night elfs i think
