I do not connect with this questline. I think I will skip it.
So instead of using this as a way to give Dracthyr more visage forms (Tauren, Troll, Orc, night elf, worgan ect..) they decide to make players go through this extremely long quest, just for nothing to change?
I really like the idea of this questline honestly. Also, about time we get a night elf worgen featured without them being feral or dead kr whatever.
Why did we need a questline to figured out something we already knew by her not talking a visage to begin with? Idk, this feels bad to me. I was excited for a payoff and the payoff is nothing changing?
Amazing storyline. This is how modern society operates, glad to see it reflected in WoW.
Mon-Ark!
They should have added the voice of the character who gave birth to Mova and what that did to their body and identity. This does not feel inclusive.
mmmm..... ok, but how much times we have to see missions like this before we see something cool? something that really makes us exited about the game?
Let's not build on what's been established and let the story/lore grow organically, right? Let's instead make it about identity crisis. Going to do this quest just to do it but I'm rolling my eyes real hard here. I agree with the other commentors here in saying this is just modern-day writing B.S.You know what would have been a better story point while staying with the lore: 'Emberthral felt she couldn't find her visage until her battle was won and her kind were safe and established in the new world. With the successful reclamation of the Dragon Isles and newfound allies, Emberthral is ready to embrace the peace that comes with victory to lead her people and choose her visage.'There you go. You get to play identity politics to look PC while still making it relevant to 20+ year old story telling.
As a person who mains a Dracthyr that refuses to use the stupid visage thing... Yeah, you do you Emberthal.
Honestly at the end of the day it's just a fluff quest to help flesh out a few characters and give us a break from all the other crap that happens in the game.Likewise, a lot of players who picked dracthyr did it because they wanted to play as a badass dragon and run around doing badass dragon things, not run around as some human, orc, or troll with horns that goes dragon when in combat. I already have an orc character to play as when I feel like zug-zugging about. You could say the same thing about a lot of worgen players as well. Hell if anything, people want to have a bit more customization for their dracthyr and the trasnmog options expanded upon so they can fine tune their look.
I'm still waiting for Blizzard to make the shoulders and belt transmogs on Dracthyr form a choice, i hate that i can't transmog my visage and dracthyr form differently, it's the only thing i hate about the drafthyr, is it really so hard to just make it a choice and not ruin a whole race/class because of 1 design flaw? common blizzard, i love mogs but i hate your braindead design on this matter. i can't make decent mogs because these 2 transmog forms wont overlap, it's ruining everything!
Good writing. Hope this means some new visage stuff for dracthyr, they werent even an option in plunderstorm lol
Looking at the characters of choice, rather than a trip down the memory lane, it feels like a reminder of "all the times we tried to do inclusive stuff but you skipped the quests". It's such a blatant overload of virtue signaling that it manages to make a message as natural as just being yourself come off as blunt, and even loosely racist. I can definitely understand some people taking it more negatively than they should. It tries to make a big deal out of a non-issue. I don't think anyone even noticed or cared that Emberthal never appears in Visage form (most relevant Dracthyr never do, either). It hardly warrants a gossip option, let alone an entire questline. But hey, that's corporate PR for you, they felt the need to say "we care about your feelings, keep buying our stuff, thank you!"Meanwhile, playable Dracthyr are locked into the same "race" in visage form (If being some sort of scaly mongrel even counts as a race), and are unable to display most of their own gear - also locking them out of a key system such as transmogrification. To be honest, it is very hypocritical to send a message about the importance of Dracthyr customization and self-expression while disallowing it for player characters.P.S: Why can't we talk to Emberthal about Neltharion's visage? I think that would've been relevant to her.
