New Site Feature: Guide System for User-Submitted Class Information
2016/06/30 at 5:33 PM
In preparation for all the class changes coming in the 7.0 Legion Pre Patch, the Wowhead staff has spruced up the guide system! In addition to our
for all specs, we also want to encourage users to share their builds used for different situations. With more spec-specific talents and the brand-new Artifact and Relic system, there's a ton of variety to share!
Writing guides can be tricky, so we designed a new user-friendly UI for writing class guides, which allows you to do the following new things:
Embed Talent, Honor Talents, and Artifact Calculator builds into the guide, with notes on each ability choice.
Leave tags specifying the skill level required for your build, and if it's suitable for different categories of PvE and PvP. Perhaps you're looking for a simple build for an alt, or something specifically for dungeons on your main.
Select stat weights and rank useful enchants, gems, and food.
Leave notes on any important items that impact your build, such as
Previously-published Legion Talent guides have been converted to the new system.
The guide system is also mobile-friendly and you can easily skip between guide sections with our new navigation bar! Guides can be browsed on our
Class Guide Section
(note the Legion subdomain in the URL) and can be further filtered by spec and tag.
To set up a Legion Class Guide, just go to "
Create New Guide
" on any guide page and select "Classes" from the guide category, then pick a spec. You can also set up a guide for a spec via the "Create New Guide" option on the
Legion Talent Calculator
. Do note that several options, such as the Artifact Calculator, are only available if the guide is edited on the Legion subdomain.
In preparation for Legion, we have also added several new guide sections:
, and split off
We look forward to seeing your guides, whether you're on the beta or PTR, or want to write one when the pre patch hits live servers! We would love feedback from any beta/PTR players as to anything they'd like to see added to this spec template.

Titanforged in Raids and the End-Game Reward System in Legion
2016/06/27 at 9:42 PM
With LFR Emerald Nightmare raid testing over the weekend, several players noticed they were getting
good rewards--the ilvl of which rivaled gear from higher difficulties. Watcher weighs in on how the end-game reward system is shaped in Legion.
All gear has a base item level, and a diminishing chance to be a higher ilvl in increments of 5.
There is a max ilvl cap across all gear--around 850 for Legion launch, and going up to 895 for Nightmare.
Gear that rolls +15 ilvls above the base or higher has the
designation, instead of
. Titanforged gear ranges from +15 above the base to whatever the max ilvl cap is. So in theory, an ilvl 835 LFR item has an 0.0000000001% chance to roll a +60 Titanforged ilvl 895 version.
All max level gear is part of this system, giving players the chance to find an upgrade no matter what content they do, however small that chance is.
