Any word on a fix for the 660 Crafted Engineering Gun? Upgrading it all the way to 3/3 somehow makes it worse than 620 Weapons.

4.3 Raid Finder Loot Rules and Blizzard Preview Footage
2011/11/23 at 5:07 PM
Blizzard posted the final raid finder loot rules--a topic I remember many of you were curious about! It looks fairly standard and hopefully will prevent loot being taken unfairly by players who want to grief or gear their offspec over main.
We were also sent a 4.3 video today showcasing Dragon Soul and the three new 5-mans. However, it doesn't have music, so we'll update links if Blizzard's YouTube channel ends up having a different one; we were sent this by Blizzard's PR team and told to post away, but it doesn't seem to be the usual quality for a trailer. Still, it features gorgeous footage and really highlights the instances.
4.3 Raid Finder Loot Rules
As previously announced the Raid Finder will use an altered version of Need Before Greed that provides loot roll bonuses to those that have entered the raid in the role (tank, DPS, healing) that uses those items. Unfortunately the system is currently unable to detect spec, and so this creates some issues for classes that utilize stats that are not "common" to that role.
To help clarify which items you will or will not be able to roll on based on the role you entered the raid in, we have some basic guidelines that we've followed that should help you anticipate which items you'll receive the roll bonus on.
If you're in a raid as one of the below roles here is what you'll receive a roll bonus on:
Agility Leather (for druids)
Strength plate with tank stats on it
Trinkets with tank stats
Trinkets with Agility (for druids)
Any appropriate caster gear without Hit
Trinkets that trigger on heals or beneficial spells
Mostly everything that doesn’t have a tank stat on it
Spirit gear (for elemental shaman, shadow priest, and moonkin)
Trinkets that trigger on damaging spells/melee hits
In some cases we've been overly restrictive when flagging accessories (Petrified Fungal Heart and Signet of Grasping Mouths in particular), and we're planning to modify a couple of those items to be less restrictive before or shortly after the patch goes live.
With Mists of Pandaria our expectation is that we will have the ability to detect spec, and so all of these issues go away for future raids. For Dragon Soul there will be some overlap, though, and it's important you're aware of the loot rules as due to the automated distribution system our support department will not be able to assist with any loot disputes while using Raid Finder.

4.3 Preview: Well of Eternity Overview and Dragon Soul Testing
2011/10/14 at 10:32 PM
Blizzard hit us with an unexpected testing phase this afternoon of the new raid as well as the final 5-man; unfortunately, the raid was announced right as the bosses went live, so the servers started tanking immediately while everyone rushed to log on. Only a few groups got a 10-man together--most top-end guilds fought the loading screen boss instead, getting 4-5 of their members in the instance before testing time ran out. We managed to get in and take some screenshots, but sadly, the majority of my guild was stuck at the loading bar for the entire night.
All of this is to say I doubt we'll see many good videos, as the streams were fairly disappointing due to guilds like Blood Legion only able to pull trash due to limited numbers--most videos will probably be PUG point of views.
A rocky start, but hopefully we'll have some great testing sessions before and after BlizzCon!

Well of Eternity Screenshots
Set in a besieged Dragonblight, the imagery is sadly nothing new compared to the gorgeous Well of Eternity we also previewed. The bosses look awesome, though--as well as menacing!
Well of Eternity
Upon zoning in, your party is transformed into night elves then introduced to a stealthed Illidan. This is before his corruption; back when he was a good guy. It serves as a glimpse into the man that was before his demise in Black Temple. Shortly after, you gain a stealth buff, which allows you to run through armies of demons undetected. Periodically, Illidan stops, asking your group to sabotage a prism.
Illidan controls to patrol around the garden with your party in tow, until he sees Peroth'arn and comes out of the shadows to engage him. Peroth'arn hunts and corrupts those of your party until you kill him; the fight uses fun stealth mechanics.
Leaving the garden through a ramp upwards, you'll run into Azshara and her puppets. She'll try to turn your group into them as well. If you outlast her, she eventually gets bored and flies off on a black bat. At this point, you mount bronze drakes to proceed to the final part of the instance.
The well has been corrupted and is a maelstrom of fel energies, in a striking RP sequence. However, Illidan and Tyrande are here to take care of things. Sticking by their sides, you eventually see the destruction of the pit lord who corrupted it. Illidan uses one of the vials of eternity to shield the group from 90% of the fire damage the encounter has, while Tyrande shoots volleys of arrows at fel enemies, channeling the energy of the moonwell when she runs out of arrows. Upon beating this boss, players get a special two hour title <Name>, The Hand of Elune. This is also an incredibly detailed section of the instance, with gorgeous areas to explore.
