The Weekly Marmot - End of Expansion Raiding Options

This week, I answer a question from
Damingo, the Prairie Dog Lord
(yeaaahhhhh...) and talk a bunch about end of expansion raiding from a raider's perspective. When you really want to raid but guilds keep falling apart around you, what options do you have? Do you just give up, or is there another way?

BFF Report - Minecraft - No, It Isn't Another WoW Clone..

That's the first thing I thought when this game was recommended to me, but can you blame me? With the constant onslaught of free2play WoW rip-offs, seeing anything "____Craft" is suspect. Minecraft is nothing close to what I had expected. It is a sandbox environment where you're given the ultimate set of virtual Legos, and to quote the website, "..a game about placing blocks while running from skeletons."
If I can sum it up even further, it's like FarmVille plus zombies, minus the shame... and minus the FarmVille, knawmean? To top it off, the classic version is free and runs in your browser.

The Weekly Marmot - End of Expansion Raiding

So this week I take a look back through my experiences with raiding in the weeks and months prior to the release of Wrath of the Lich King and The Burning Crusade to give a little insight into what exactly is happening right now that's causing so much trouble for so many guilds. Why are so many players quitting their guilds? Why are so many quitting the game entirely? And just because I'm never content to just sit around and talk about how bad things can be, I give some tips and ideas for dealing with it and making sure your guild isn't one that falls victim to the dreaded End of Expansion Blues.

Vindictus, the 'Hack n' Slash' F2P MMO, Has Been BFF'd (??)

Let's take Fable, strip down all the RP open-world nonsense and replace it with everything we've learned from the past 17 'Street Fighter II' games. Then sprinkle in some MMO elements, some glow, and make it fit the lore of Nexon's ongoing MMO series, "Mabinogi" but call it VINDICTUS...in the U.S.
If you read that with any negative connotation, you may be surprised at just how well this product has come together thus far...
As always, you can catch video extras and gaming randomness on my

So, say a new build has just hit the Cataclysm beta. You're looking through the patch notes and you come across a highly controversial change to your favorite class. You immediately do one of the following:
Rage about it on the forums
Cancel your subscription, then rage about it on the forums
Cancel your subscription, murder your friends, then rage about it on the forums
Watch this week's Weekly Marmot
If you chose option 1 or 2, you should check out this week's Marmot, where I talk about how to properly handle all the weird things that happen during beta. If you chose option 3,
seek help

Best. Warcraft Music. Ever. - Cataclysm's Opening Theme

Miyari
It's been a pretty busy weekend in the Cataclysm Beta, with the addition of the
Guild Vendor
and a number of interesting
new UI changes
. However, there's one aspect in the development of the new World of Warcraft expansion that's been coming along
wonderfully
and isn't getting quite the attention it deserves - until now! Many Cataclysm zones feature entirely new or completely changed music which I'd love to share with you guys - if you'd be interested?
In any case, I present to you the most amazing World of Warcraft musical piece ever (well, except for
Power of the Horde
- but I'm just biased):
The Shattering
, the 12-minute long epic currently gracing the Cataclysm Beta's login screen. Enjoy!
Thanks
Fewyn
for uploading, I'd have gotten this up sooner for you guys but I'm terrible at making even the most simple of YouTube videos!

Tired of City of Heroes Talk? Good, the BFF Report Has Some Words..

That's right, besides my outstanding submission to the
City of Heroes Character Creation Contest
, I got to spend the last couple of weeks resurrecting awesome cartoon superheroes and wearing leotards. It's been quite the experience, to be honest... revealing could be a better word for it. I really was pushing this report down to the wire though, within minutes of wrapping up the shoot, beta came to an end. Sadly, this also means no one will ever get to see my amazing japaneserobocop hero. :(
