Patch 5.4 Trinket Preview, RPPM and Scaling Details
2013/08/27 at 11:38 AM
With Patch 5.4 two weeks away, we're taking a look at all the new trinkets today. The new trinkets from
Siege of Orgrimmar
are between ilvl 528 (LFR) and ilvl 572 (Heroic Warforged), and there are also ilvl 496 and ilvl 535 BoA trinkets from the
Many of these trinkets have interesting procs--some change the cooldown recovery rate on major abilities, while others have cleave or multistrike mechanics. For the spec-specific trinkets, we've tested them on the PTR--several affected abilities have changed over the course of the PTR.
The Stats and Scaling Proc columns below link to spell IDs used by a trinket. On a spell page, these trinket procs will display their base ilvl 463 value--what you would see when zoning into a Challenge Mode or Proving Grounds. The trinket proc values scale up on our various item pages.
New to 5.4, trinkets now display RPPM information on their tooltips. On item and spell pages, we now show whether a proc's RPPM scales with crit, haste, or budget (item level), such as
Item - Proc Versatility
Throne of Thunder
trinkets are receiving some significant RPPM and scaling changes as well in Patch 5.4. We received a list of these changes from
Patch 5.2 News: Season 13 Begins, Trinket Changes, Live Ghostcrawler Interview
2013/03/13 at 1:42 PM
Today's news covers the start of Season 13 PvP, and some details on the
trinket hotfixes from yesterday
that are designed to smooth out unlucky proc situations from players.
Season 13 Has Begun
PvP Season 13 for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria has begun! Team and Personal Ratings have been reset and players can once again take to the Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds to test their mettle.

News Round Up: Vanity Loot in LFR Satchels, 5.2 Trinket Preview, Ghostcrawler on Class Balance
2013/02/15 at 11:42 AM
Loot Improvements Coming to LFR Satchels
Many of us have felt the disappointment of using a
Elder Charm of Good Fortune
in the hopes of obtaining a Sha-Touched weapon and getting
Dividends of the Everlasting Spring
instead. In 5.2, it seems that these bags will contain more fun things, similar to
Misty Satchel of Exotic Mysteries
! Besides pets and mounts, there will be
LFR versions of trash drops
and valuable vendor trash in the style of
Riko's Treasure Map
The change is still in for the failbags to ... not be fail. They'll have a chance to contain things like very valuable grey items (essentially randomizing the gold you get from the bags), LFR versions of non-boss loot,
Spirit of Harmony
, consumables, pets and mounts, and... maybe some other stuff I forgot. Lots of things! Opening them should have some anticipation and surprise now. :)
Ghostcrawler on Class Balance and Trinkets
Ghostcrawler has posted a ton of updates on class balance this week--specifically, Discipline Priests had a lot of changes today. We've organized all of his comments below by class.
In addition to class balan
