Talk Azeroth With Olivia--BlizzCon Edition
Olivia's back after the roof blew off her studio, with a Talk Azeroth focusing on one of the biggest pieces of news to come out of BlizzCon, the changes in raid sizes. She's wondering just exactly what the impact will be on different guilds, from LFR right up to the controversial new Mythic raiding mode, as well as talking through a few of your responses to Talk Azeroth 17, and asking for your questions and views on Garrisons.
Warlords of Draenor: Itemization Changes and New Stats
Blizzard devs have been very active on Twitter discussing item and stat changes in Warlords of Draenor. You can learn about the entire itemization preview at BlizzCon on our
Warlords of Draenor Guide
, or check out the clarifications below. Most of these details were covered at BlizzCon, but it's easy to forget some details with so much new information!
Spirit (healers) and armor (tanks) will only appear on accessory slots, weapons, and gems, not main slots like helms. Accessory items will most likely just have secondary stats.
Only main armor pieces like helms will swap their prim
News Roundup: Talk Azeroth, New Recruit-A-Friend Soon, Blizzard Sales
2013/10/16 at 12:24 PM
For those of you interested in Recruit-a-Friend, the RAF program is being temporarily shut down to prepare for the new program coming very soon. If you liked the current
Heart of the Nightwing
mount though, don't worry--it will be available with the new and improved program. On Friday, we datamined a
new achievement and mount for RAF

, so there may be a variety of rewards to choose from!
In light of the new RAF program being launched, it makes sense Blizzard announced yesterday that Cataclysm is now included in the Battle Chest for only $19.99--this change makes it easier and cheaper for new players to catch up to their friends. For seasoned players, there's also a 33% off sale on
We've got another episode of Talk Azeroth up with Olivia! This time, Olivia gets into the acronyms with a re-recorded (after the last one failed) version of Talk Azeroth 16. She's talking about the controversial match-ending debuff, The Crowd Chose You, and the upcoming changes to it, as well as touching on the Diminishing Returns system, answering your questions a
Battle Pet Hotfixes and Talk Azeroth: Flex Raiding
2013/09/27 at 12:15 PM
This week Olivia takes us through some of the recent forum complaints about LFR and Flex. Is it too easy? Too hard? Or have we just totally forgotten what it's like in new tiers? And is Flex taking away all the good raiders?
She also gets into your viewer questions, dealing with last week's responses to the Censer of Eternal Agony, and its issues with PvP flagging on PvE servers. Lastly she dives into the complete farce that has been the start of season 14, with the conquest vendors being up and down like your average yo-yo, the gear issues and the impact on rating.

News Roundup and Talk Azeroth Episode 14: Eternal Agony
2013/09/23 at 11:03 AM
Olivia dives right in to the World First race from her secret lair in the USA, wondering why the bosses are dropping like flies this time around and putting her pet theories out there for your examination. Next up, she's been besieged with emails about the Censer of Eternal Agony which is purchased from the Timeless Isle, and used either to mercilessly gank people like the black-hearted snakes you are, or for some fun world PvP, depending on your perspective. She hits up some viewer questions, if you want to send yours in email her on firstname.lastname@example.org, and gets back to enjoying her holiday!

Talk Azeroth Episode 12, Cinder Kitten on Sale
2013/08/29 at 11:57 AM
This week, Olivia Grace returns from her trip to the world's largest gaming conference and—after a quick update on what she got up to, including some raving about WildStar and the Oculus Rift—she dives in to the World of Warcraft news that came out of this huge convention.
First up, it's the subject of character models, where Olivia wonders just exactly what Blizzard has been up to all this time. Then she covers the arrival of item squish, the potential for a patch 5.5, and just exactly why you're doing that Black Temple run.
If you want to have your questions answered, the best way to get in touch with Olivia is via email to email@example.com, through twitter @oliviadgrace, or by leaving a comment below!

Talk Azeroth: Episode 11, Battlefield Barrens and Eternally In The Vale Removed in 5.4
2013/08/16 at 11:25 AM
Today's newspost is about prepping for 5.4--things you should be stockpiling for the patch, as well as things you might want to get done before they're removed!
This week Olivia's taking you on a voyage into patch 5.4 as we recently found out when it was going live on servers. She tells you just exactly what you ought to be thinking of stockpiling and what you ought to be spending, and theorizing on reasons why there might not be a Valor reset with the patch.
The main topic she wants to talk to you about this week, though, is heirlooms. Olivia's got a wacky theory she wants to share on just how the personal loot system might interact with these new heirlooms.
Then she moves onto loot equality, trying to reassure LFR-only raiders that things will turn out OK, while also waxing lyrical on the reasons why these items should and shouldn't be in LFR in the first place.
Removed Content in Patch 5.4
Along with the announcement that
PvP Season 13 is ending soon
, some other content will be changing in Patch 5.4.
5.4 PTR: Siege of Orgrimmar and Timeless Isle BoA Gear, Talk Azeroth with Olivia
2013/08/08 at 12:23 PM
This week, Olivia Grace is fed up to the teeth of constantly talking about the in-game store so swears off it for now—long may it continue.
Instead, she's tackling something came to light following some research she did to answer a recent viewer question: item levels. She reckons gear is pretty broken in WoW right now and wants your ideas to fix it; Olivia gives a couple of her own to get you started.
She also tackles Ghostcrawler's recent tweets about item squish, in this context, and despite her rapidly disappearing voice, Olivia still manages to answer a viewer question or two in another packed show.
If you want to have your question answered the best way to get in touch with Olivia is via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or twitter @oliviadgrace, or by leaving a comment below!
Siege of Orgrimmar Heirlooms
In a recent PTR build, epic BoA items were datamined! These heirlooms drop from
on Flex, Normal, and Heroic difficulty--another incentive to run raids besides LFR. These items have interesting models as well--they are based on Horde PvP weapons from classic WoW.
We've received confirmation from Blizzard that the item levels and stats are not final yet.[/b

Talk Azeroth w/Olivia - Ep 08 - Timeless Isle Kills Dailies, Mists Endgame Madness
2013/07/25 at 10:45 AM
This week Olivia wants to hold your hand as she takes you on a journey through the
, running merrily through the new zone, murdering rares, stealing their stuff, and generally making with the stabby.
She then opens the table for discussion of the shifting end-game content styles in Mists. We really have run the gamut in this expansion, from factions and factions of dailies, through weeklies, and now, with patch 5.4, the arrival of the
daily-quest-free timeless isle
And Olivia then rattles through your responses to last week's request for feedback, and is relieved that the majority seemed to agree with her, before answering some viewer questions, and berating herself for doing another too-long show!
Talk Azeroth with Olivia - Episode 7: Cosmetic Hats and Proving Grounds
2013/07/18 at 11:34 AM
This week on Talk Azeroth, it's the
appearance of some new hats
that's caught Olivia's attention! These three new hats are for transmogrification purposes only, and have no stats at all. Olivia shelled out £10 of her hard earned cash to check out various aspects of these hats, and has some pretty strong opinions about the price point that Blizzard has set!
Onto happier news, and Olivia dives into the
, the latest feature to arrive on the Patch 5.4 PTR. These new solo scenarios are designed as training grounds for tanks, healers and DPS, and Olivia
put together a video
summing up the technical side for Wowhead yesterday, so check that out if you're interested. Olivia talks through her experience in proving grounds, and the pros and cons of Blizzard's current implementation.
Last up, it's two viewer questions! If you would like
Talk Azeroth with Olivia - Episode 6: In-Game Store
2013/07/12 at 11:09 AM
This week on Talk Azeroth, Olivia tackles the hottest topic of the moment: in-game microtransactions. But first, she gives the viewer a very short French lesson -- the translation is directly after the intro -- and it's on with the show.
Olivia starts off by looking at the datamined item itself: the
Enduring Elixir of Wisdom
. Looking at
Bashiok's forum post
, she wonders whether it's really something that would qualify as pay-to-win, and considers that there are already similar items available within the game. She then takes a look at the mechanical side of an in-game store itself, and points out how it might affect players' immersion and in-game experience, as well as pointing out ways in which it might be made to work.
Then it's on to the meat of the problem: what is suitable for a cash shop and what isn't. Olivia would love your input on just exactly what you think is OK and what's not. She looks briefly at the psychology of it before hypothesizing about just what might come of the store in the future, and how the player base might react.
Last up, it's two viewer questions! If yo
Talk Azeroth - Episode 5 - Cross-Realm Arena, Recent Hotfixes
2013/07/05 at 1:26 PM
We've got another episode of Talk Azeroth with Olivia up, as well as some recent hotfixes for the holiday weekend!
This week on Talk Azeroth Episode Five, Olivia gives everyone a lesson in what she calls the After Eight challenge, before firing up the show. If you think you can do it faster, prove it!
Moving into the show, Olivia starts off by picking up your viewer questions from previous episodes. If you have a viewer question, you can now email them over to Olivia direct on Olivia@zam.com, or tweet her at
. The questions this week touch on Virtual Realms, as well as a couple of thoughts on the Arena Tie-Break System.
This weeks' show deals with some huge PvP news, the introduction of cross-realm arenas and the removal of teams. Olivia explains the existing system, as well as the changes, before thinking through the pros and cons of the new system, including flexibility, rating, rankings, MMR and potential exploits, as well as the camaraderie of teams and whether it's really important.
