5.4 PTR: Orgrimmar and Razor Hill Changes, New Legendary Quests
2013/06/24 at 2:55 PM
Orgrimmar on the 5.4 PTR keeps getting more and more changes. In Patch 5.3, the Kor'kron had the troll section on lockdown, and on the PTR, they've extended their influence over even more of the city.
We also have some details on new legendary quests coming in Patch 5.4, which predictably have you spend time in the Siege of Orgrimmar, but also unexpectedly spend some time collecting
on the Timeless Isle, a new zone that's home to an upcoming pet tournament.
Check out what's new in our video below by Olivia, or hit the Description tab to read the specifics I've compiled, including a new conversation between Baine and Vol'jin discussing the Siege of Orgrimmar and Garrosh.
Gamon has moved from the Valley of Strength to the Valley of Wisdom. No longer simply cornered by the Kor'kron, he's being held at gunpoint by them.
The Valley of Spirits is still on lockdown by the Kor'kron, who have also begun tormenting vendors in the Valley of Strength. In particular, the goblin bankers are in a fight and several vendors are huddled in the streets.

Isle of Thunder Preview: PvE and PvP Dailies, Troll Transmog, Single-Player Scenarios
2013/02/14 at 9:46 AM
The 5.2 PTR is up to testing Stage 2 of the Isle of Thunder questing! We last previewed it during Stage 0, so there are some new things available such as the option to choose between PvE and PvP dailies, single-player scenarios tied to each phase, and the addition of troll-themed drops like
Forlorn Loa-Binder Cage
from Zandalari mobs.
PvE or PvP Daily Quests

As for PvP quests, accepting any of these quests will flag you for PvP, even on a PvE realm. These quests send you into the heart of the enemy's base and while none of them specifically ask you to kill enemy players, you'll definitely be running into them as you kill enemy g
5.2 PTR: New Legendary and Isle of Giants Quests, Zandalari Rare Spawns
2013/01/11 at 10:43 AM
Today's PTR news is all about vanity items: rare Zandalari spawns were added to the PTR which have a chance to drop mounts, quests were added to the Isle of Giants allowing you to get mounts and pets, and we've also datamined some legendary and elite battle pet quests.

to get a unique mount and pet! 9999 bones seems a bit extreme, especially since the bones only stack to 500, so this could be changed in a future PTR build--the takeaway message here is that this area has grindy quests with cool rewards. As Alliance, I'm excited about that raptor mount!

5.2 PTR: New Daily Quests
2013/01/05 at 12:34 PM
We've got the first batch of 5.2 daily quests to share with you and one thing is for certain--you'll be killing a lot of Trolls. The majority of datamined quests cover daily quests associated with two new factions, the Kirin-Tor Offensive and the Sunreaver Onslaught. Several of these quests are in a very early stage, between their jokey names or missing descriptions, but other offer details about the Loa, Zandalari lore developments, and the Mogu.
There's also some information on the areas in Isle of the Thunder King--the Bestiary of Jelek appears to be a center for Zandalari forces, while the Court of Bones is home to Mogu Sorcerers. And this patch's poop quest is found in Ihgaluk Crag, home to the Saurok.
We also found a weekly quest and raid quest tied to the upcoming 5.2 raid, Throne of Thunder:
The Crumbled Chamberlain
. You there! Assist me. In life I was the keeper of keys for his majesty, the Thunder King. For my dedication, I was condemned to this stone form, forever forced to watch over these keys. Patch 5.1: Operation: Shieldwall and Dominance Offensive Guides
2012/11/29 at 11:51 AM
While 5.1 only introduces two new factions,
, they've got a lot of content attached to them--World PvP, rare spawns, daily quests, and achievements. We provided an
overview of these factions
in our Patch 5.1 guide, as well as links to all of our PTR coverage, but it's convenient to have all the information handy on one page as well.
In this guide you'll find:

Information on the World PvP areas.
Rare NPCs: their loot, locations, and abilities.
Reputation rewards: rare trinkets, epics, and mounts.
Daily quests: their quest hubs, reputation gains, and maps.
An overview of your faction's epic questline.

Patch 5.1: Realm Event Time Changes, Transmogable Guild Cloaks
2012/11/28 at 12:34 PM
Today's 5.1 news round up covers everything from fun vanity items to event time changes. On the light-hearted side of things, we have information on a new disguise from
and transmoggable guild cloaks. On the more serious side of things, we have information on standardized region-wide times for events like the
Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza
, which returned in 5.1 after a hiatus due to CRZ complications, when to expect Brawler's Guild Invitations on the BMAH, and clarifications on the new Beastmaster dailies like
Beastmaster's Quarry: The Crane
And in sad news, we have confirmation from
Dave Kosak on twitter
that the Warlock "green fire" questline everyone was looking forward to was pushed back to 5.2.

5.1 PTR: Legendary and Faction Quests
2012/11/20 at 11:51 AM
Since we last covered new quests in 5.1, there's been some big updates we wanted to share about legendary and faction quests. We datamined some possible rewards for the legendary chain in 5.1, including new gems and sockets. We also pieced together more of the epic 5.1 faction questlines and now know that they reward players with a mount!
There are upgraded versions of legendary gems:
Refined Crystallized Dread
Refined Crystallized Horror
Refined Crystallized Terror
Eye of the Black Prince
allows you to add another gem socket to your Sha-Touched weapon, similar to
Living Steel Belt Buckle
. These are for regular gems, not additional legendary gems.
Since we last covered the datamined quests, Blizzard has trimmed down the PvP requirements. Instead of winning 10 Battlegrounds, you only have to win one in
Temple of Kotmogu
Two achievements have been added:

A Test of Valor

Mists of Pandaria: Reputation Quick Facts (Updated for 5.4)
2012/09/30 at 12:39 PM
This guide provides quick facts for every Mists of Pandaria faction: where their quartermaster is located, how to gain reputation, and rewards. You can visit Wowhead's faction pages for more information, as well as our reputation guides, which have been updated for 5.4.
Eight factions originally shipped with Mists of Pandaria: four have epic gear rewards, while the other four have quirky vanity items. All have epic mounts and detailed tabards as Exalted rewards.
In later patches, two factions have been added for the Alliance and Horde (four total), as well as a raid-related faction and Timbermaw-style reputation grind.
Reputations are a bit different to grind in Mists of Pandaria--the old system of equipping a tabard and farming dungeons has been removed. Tabards only serve vanity purposes now and reputation is gained by doing daily quests. Each faction has a compelling story behind it and the daily quests are interesting and varied, such as completing a racecourse on a cloud serpent.
Patch 5.4 Reputation Changes
Justice Point and Valor Point gear no longer requires reputation and has undergone cost changes.
