World Boss Preview: Salyis's Warband
2012/08/06 at 7:11 PM
The ruthless saurok roam Pandaria, stealing what they can and harassing the island's other inhabitants. The most infamous of these reptilian pillagers are Chief Salyis and his warband. For years, the saurok commander and his raiders have stormed through the Valley of the Four Winds atop Galleon, a colossal and well-armed mushan that is more a moving fortress than a simple mount.
Check out the Mists of Pandaria preview website and get a first glimpse at one of the two new roaming world bosses:
! These extremely powerful monsters will do everything in their power to make your life more... “interesting” as you explore the mysterious continent of Pandaria.
World bosses spawn in the open world and can be attacked by any player (un)fortunate enough to cross their paths. Salyis's Warband will be quite rare, while the expansion's other boss will appear with fairly regular frequency. But before you charge headfirst into battle, keep in mind that it will take the combined efforts of a full r

Mists of Pandaria: Rare Elites and Vanity Items

Rare spawns are getting some huge changes in Mists of Pandaria--they'll drop unique vanity items like
Mr. Smite's Brass Compass

Every rare mob in Pandaria, known as "Pandaren champions," will drop a satchel and a medium-level piece of armor in addition to a special item. Most rares drop vanity items, which we've listed below, but a few mobs in lower-level zones drop things like
Big Bag of Linens
instead. Tracking down all the rare mobs will grant the achievement
