It's a known bug and not an intended change. We plan to address this in 6.1.

To clarify, it's currently a bug on the PTR which will be fixed in the next build.

Wowhead Site Features in 2011
2012/01/10 at 2:58 PM
2011 was a busy year for us at Wowhead and we're looking at 2012 now as we pick and choose the projects we want to put out. The problem is there's a lot of things we want to do and time is always our most valuable resource, so we could use a little help.
That's where you come in--we really want to examine 2011's project load and see what our community thought of it, in particular which one they felt was the most successful and most desired feature. Maybe you really liked
the transmogrification sets
and would like more of those such database enhancements in the future; perhaps you were drawn to
; or it's possible that you really like being able to pen a solid guide in
our guide section
. Either way, it's time to tell us!
So cast your vote on the poll and sound off in the comments on what features you liked the most on Wowhead this past year! If it's a tie, feel free to vote for more than one option! Also, if you want to read about these features further, they're covered on
our what's new page
as well. (You'll have to be logged in to vote.)
By the way, we're not including default projects, like that time our team rushed a
Mists of Pandaria talent calculator
or the various database fixes we've done throughout the year.

The End Is Near... What Would You Do?
2010/11/11 at 12:28 AM
Blizzard's having some fun with their new forums (how can they not, they're pretty awesome!) and they've posted their first
, asking a pretty interesting question:
If you believed the end of Azeroth was nigh, what would be the first thing you'd do?
Most of the options are pretty funny, and a few raise some very good points - like
just go to Outland?
is pretty nice every time of the year, after all, and there's no reminder of Deathwing ravaging the land. Besides, who doesn't love floating islands?
The earth shakes with growing frequency. Elementals pour out of rifts like rodents escaping a sinking ship. Your esteemed faction leaders, barely recovered from the strain of the campaign in Northrend, have been summoned to deliberate on a matter most urgent. And now, doomsayers affiliated with the Twilight's Hammer are gathering openly within the city walls, preaching the coming of something dark and ancient... and the ruination of all.
What in the Light's name is going on?
With the world in upheaval and its people in a panic, it's time to prepare for the worst. If the end of Azeroth is indeed at hand, how would you want to spend your final days?
Be sure to check out our
and log your vote!
You can check out Blizzard's poll in
this forum thread
and make your choice. Personally, I'm a sucker for
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
(and judging by the results so far, I'm not the only one) but there's some pretty good choices (Blizzard loves their Invader Zim references, too, of course). The blog tags are pretty funny, too.
It's hard to imagine that our characters are living in a world where we
know that Deathwing is coming, don't know the Cataclysm is going to destroy pretty much everything and can't even fathom the challenges and atrocities we're about to face (like female dwarf shamans). But hey, it's the truth. Blizzard's suggestions aren't good enough for you? Ok, the Cataclysm is coming -
what are you going to do?

An Informal Poll, Part 2
2010/05/07 at 1:56 PM
So here's one more question I've been wondering about, that I'd like some input on:
How often do you actually
Once or twice a week
Once or twice a month
I'm kinda waiting for Cataclysm
Please include a number in your comment for when we tally up the data, but you're welcome to elaborate in your response.

An Informal Poll
2010/05/03 at 8:52 PM
So I have a few things that have been wondering lately, and I'd like to do a poll. I've noticed that a surprising number of our users seem to hang around the site even though they don't actually
WoW anymore. Are you one of those people?
I'd like to get answers to these questions. A simple "yes" or "no" is enough.
Do you have an active World of Warcraft account?
Do you use the Launcher?
Do you regularly visit the official World of Warcraft site?
