2010/11/12 at 6:47 PM
Reports are coming in that
of the pre-Cataclysm launch event has begun! Doomsday Cultists are roaming the city streets and its up to us to try and put a stop to their strange rituals!
This phase adds several new quests in the capital cities of each faction. The full listing is below.
Remember, for the full info, you can always check our completed
Elemental Invasion Guide!
Zarhym made an interesting post on the new community site regarding the invasion! Seems it will be even sooner before we see the next phase of the invasion!
The time between the start of stage 2 and stage 3 was shorter. I can tell you the current plan is to make the time between stage 3 and 4 even shorter. ;)
Phase 3: November 12 - November ???

How To Find Cataclysm Instance Entrances
2010/11/11 at 12:35 AM
The other night I stumbled upon the work of the talented
, where he had posted an assortment of nicely made and extremely informative images that I guarantee will be of value to many players in preparation for the Cataclysm! He's given us permission to share with you guys this awesome collection, detailing locations of each of the new dungeons launching with Cataclysm.
Remember, come Cataclysm, you will not be able to queue for one of the new dungeons via the Dungeon Finder unless you have first discovered its entrance! Thankfully, Blizzard has assured us that the normal leveling path will lead you to discovering most of these dungeons without much effort, but there's definitely no such thing as too much information! Enjoy!
We've also put together a video showing easy paths you can take to reach each instance portal! :)
Check out all of the awesome images after the break!
Day of the Dead 2010 Quest Guide + Information!
2010/11/01 at 3:45 PM
Day of the Dead
event has begun yet again in the World of Warcraft! This holiday remains
from 2009, so veteran players will find that there's nothing to do. It's also worth mentioning that the single quest available in the event doesn't seem to have reset from last year, so there's
no reason to participate. Newer players, however, should definitely head over to the nearest major city graveyard and get their achievement ASAP, as the event only lasts one day!
This event is a memorial holiday in which we celebrate the honor and memory of those who have passed on. They make a spiritual return to our lands, which we prepare with food and festivities, for only two days:
. The holiday is a
in-game event, similar to
, but it's pretty interesting regardless!
Everything you need to know about this world event can be found after the break.
Hallow's End (October 18 - October 31)
2010/10/18 at 2:09 AM
It's Hallow's End time once again!
That's right, Hallow's End is here, and that means it's time for one of Miyari's handy-dandy
! After all, surely you didn't think that in all the excitement about BlizzCon, we were going to forgot about Hallow's End?
We'll be updating the guide with any additional information as the event goes on, so check back as you go!
The guide is at:

Brewfest 2010 Has Begun! Get Your Brewmaster Title With Our Guide!

Brewfest has begun yet again, running this year from
We've got our thorough event guide for you guys which will help you earn achievements, get a fancy new outfit and maybe even a mount! Remember that this year, you will be able to queue up for
using the Dungeon Finder - so no more summon drama, LFG woes or any of that foolishness!
Coren still drops the same item level 200 trinkets, but all of his non-trinket drops have been instead moved to the Dungeon Finder reward chest. You will be awarded a Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest for your first kill of Coren Direbrew each day, which contains 2
Emblem of Frost
and has a chance to drop the epic Brewfest mounts and all of the previous year's non-trinket loot.
You can see the full loot lists and information on quests, achievements and more in our full guide! Happy Brewfest!
It's Talk Like A Pirate Day in World of Warcraft, Too!

September 19th (today) is
in World of Warcraft, an in-game version of the international holiday
Talk Like A Pirate Day
! There's nothing new this year, so I'm just going to repost last year's guide for you guys, in case there's some new players out there who haven't had to opportunity to participate! While Pirates' Day not a full-blown holiday (such as
Midsummer Fire Festival
), it still provides an amusing distraction from the everyday grind - complete with pirate costumes and flagons of grog!
The Harvest Festival is here! (Sept 16 - Sept 22)
2010/09/16 at 8:36 PM
is here! Nothing new this year, but I've taken the liberty of reposting last year's guide on a new guide page for anyone who may not have participated. It's a pretty cool little event, lore-wise, but there's nothing remarkably amazing - they're basically just asking you guys to take a few minutes out of your day to show your respects to your faction's fallen hero. It would be really cool if Blizzard ever decided to elaborate on this event some, maybe by spotlighting other famous heroes (not just Grom and Uther) - maybe even tie it in with Archaeology somehow - yeah, yeah? Ah, wishful thinking... maybe next year.
Happy "One Year Since Cataclysm Was Announced" Anniversary!
2010/08/21 at 2:16 AM
Well, it's been one whole year now since World of Warcraft's Cataclysm expansion was announced on August 21, 2009 at BlizzCon in Anaheim, California! Since then, we've learned countless of new things about the upcoming expansion and all of the wondrous features we have to look forward to - the drastic changes to Azeroth, the return of Ragnaros, new playable races, guild leveling and so much more! Sadly, the one thing we haven't learned of in all this time is quite possibly one of the most important details of the upcoming expansion - the
. Recent interviews have allowed us to speculate of a late 2010 release (as they originally intended) but we're running out of 2010! I'm about to choke from my nerdy mouth frothing so long over here!
I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you guys the news that we've
! It's now even more chock full of glorious screenshots of the changed world and extensive, up-to-date details on major Cataclysm changes! Of course, we're gonna keep updating this guide probably until Cataclysm is ready to hit, so be su
Cataclysm Dungeon Bosses
2010/07/04 at 5:11 AM
A couple of builds ago Cataclysm alpha testers saw the first "real" achievements from the new expansion - achievements different from the random funny placeholders and the standard exploration achievements. I am talking about the dungeon (and some raid) achievements. And although they were cool in and of themselves, to me there was something else intriguing hiding inside them - the knowledge of what the different instances will be called and what kind of bosses they will feature. From this we could even gather some very basic and preliminary information about who (or
) those bosses will be. Interesting stuff for me and other players eager to learn more about the expansion.
So! Let me get to the good stuff and present you with a list of all the bosses in the Cataclysm dungeons, as well as with some short description and links whenever they are available. Keep in mind, only Blackrock Caverns and Throne of the Tides are available for testing (even if some of us managed to sneak inside the Stonecore), so information beyond those 2 (3) will be
virtually non-existent. Also, keep an eye out for a similar blog for raids!

Please note: As far as we know at this time, there have been no significant changes in the event from the previous year (other than the updates to Lord Ahune). But
if there are
, we'll be on top of them as soon as the event goes live, and the guide will be updated. Keep checking back over the weekend for any additional info!
Impressions from Zalazane's Fall

After visiting Dun Morogh to see Operation: Gnomeregan in action (see my recently whipped-up blog,
Impressions from Operation: Gnomeregan
