Wowhead had a great time hanging out in the brand new Darkmoon Faire area here at BlizzCon 2015. The atmosphere is amazing, and really fostered some great discussion with the Blizzard folks chatting together and with the crows!
As these panels were not part of the Virtual Ticket, we've summarized the important points below. Friday's panel focused on fantasy, quests, and lore, while Saturday's panel delved into class changes.

A few things to round up in today's Warcraft news: Yogscast did an interview with Tom Chilton, which we have summarized below; the BlizzCon Ticket Reminder; and the official post from Blizzard about their time at gamescom 2015.
It's also been a busy few days for us here at Wowhead liveblogging everything at gamescom 2015. We took a break for a day, and then organized everything there is to know about Legion into a massive guide from Demon Hunters to Class Orders.

New Site Feature: Class Guides Revamp, Spectral Tiger Giveaway

Last year we launched class guides on Wowhead, written by members of the WoW community. This got a great response and we continued to update them each patch, but we are always looking to improve upon new features. Today, we are officially launching the revamped class guides - that means more information, more detail, and easier-to-read guides. We are very excited about the work that has gone into these, and we're excited to share them with you! The authors put a great deal of work into these guides, and it shows.
Click Here to Browse Our New Classes Section
Here are some changes and improvements we've made to the new class guides:
We've split out the massive DPS guides into guides for each spec for better readability--you can still find guides for the other specs linked on the right-hand side of the guide page.
Instead of putting all the information on one page, we've broken it up into multiple pages. This gives us more flexibility and space to explain basic concepts like rotations or embed a talent calculator build.
Our Classes Page
has gotten a facelift, with a new layout, more links, and guides that provide an overview for
Tanking
,
Melee DPS
,
Ranged DPS
, and
Healing
.
You can find class guides by going to
http://www.wowhead.com/classes
which is on the navigation menu at the top of each page, and we've also added links on our
talent calculator
pages.
To help with better gearing recommendations, we've been adding new item features in the past few months--stat weights now have values for different gear levels (currently ilvl 630, 705, 720, and 735 for 6.2), you can quickly compare two items (including DPS trinkets) at
http://www.wowhead.com/upgrade
, you can see detailed Warforged/socket variations when ranking items for a particular slot, and you can pin a character via the
Profiler
to get alerts if an item you're browsing is an upgrade or not.
To celebrate our revamped class guide launch, we’re giving away one

! Simply comment letting us know what your main spec is for 6.2 by July 9th for a chance to win!

Guide to Ranged DPS: Gameplay Tips and Class Selection

by
Anshlun
Following our earlier
guide to tanks and tanking
, today we have a similar guide to ranged DPS. Like the earlier tanking guide, this is aimed at newer players, or players who want to try a new role.
Guide to Dealing Damage and Ranged DPS.
Dealing damage, or, in short, DPSing, is one of the most common roles in World of Warcraft, which can be separated in two large groups:
Those who do damage mostly to nearby enemies, or, as we call, enemies in melee range.
Those who do damage to enemies usually from a far distance.
This guide will cover the latter group, helping you pick within the options available from all the classes and explaining the basics that every DPS should know!
Dealing damage is the most competitive role in World of Warcraft. Ranged damage dealers have a few basic responsibilities:
Make sure to deal as much damage as possible.
Position yourself properly to make sure to be in range of your enemies and not standing in something bad.
Unless explicit told to, avoid to stay nearby other raid members.
Kill enemies quickly so tanks and healers can have an easier time.

Warlords of Draenor Class Guides
On Patch 6.0.2's launch, we released a series of
updated role guides
geared towards boosted or beginner players. With the recent Boosted Guide update, we thought it would be a good time to highlight them again. These guides are written by well-known theorycrafters and bloggers, with information on key abilities, stat priorities, utility spells, talents, glyphs, and more.
As many classes will have a different playstyle at 100 due to additional perks and talents, we've released these guides with their level 100 information so you can see how everything fits together. If something feels off with your class in the prepatch, it may be solved at 100 with additional mechanics.
The guides contain valuable prepatch information, including a summary of what's changed in the prepatch and enchanting/gem info at level 90, since you can't access the Warlords versions just quite yet.

Blizzard's Level 90 Video Guides
Blizzard has also put together a set of videos for the basics of one spec for each class to get you started with a class or spec you're completely new to.
<p>Want to leap into action with a new class at level 90 but not sure how to begin? In our new videos—one for each of WoW’s 11 classes—we’ll give you a crash course on how to play your new level-90 character. To help you get started, these videos focus on one damage-dealing (DPS) specialization for each class.</p>

Warlords of Draenor is nearly here with The Iron Tide prepatch. In this patch, you will find all systems changes, including class buffs and nerfs, the Toy Box, new character models, and the Group Finder!
Perculia and Olivia hosted a 6.0.2 Q&A yesterday covering popular topics like Garrosh heirlooms, character models, and the new UBRS:
We also have a video of Blizzard's own 6.0.2 Survival Guide :
Below we've listed our most popular guides for the prepatch, covering what's new, the event in the Blasted Lands/UBRS, gearing changes, and how to play your class in the patch.
Also do keep in mind that if you do not see 6.0.2 information on a database page or some links look odd, it is most likely due to cache. The database is updated on our end, just clear your browser cache to update the page.
We've also started up a blog documenting all the
known bugs, hotfixes, and patch note clarifications
.
This guide covers all the content and system updates coming in the Warlords of Draenor prepatch--before the expansion hits.
This patch contains many system and UI changes for Warlords of Draenor--you just can’t access Draenor content or level to 100.
Here are the improvements:
Bag Space Improvements
Character Models
Class and Glyph Changes
Group Finder
Guild Leveling Removed
Item Changes
Raid Changes
Racial Traits
Skirmishes
Toy Box
Transmog Improvements
Undelete Character

With currency changes coming in the prepatch and an item level requirement for the special version of UBRS, we thought we’d put together a guide on some easy new ways to get gear.
We’ve also put in a refresher course on item changes relevant to the prepatch as well--including changed gem stats and removed combat perks.
Gearing up Quickly:
Justice Gear for Gold
New UBRS
First Garrosh Heirloom 100% Chance
PvP Gear for Honor
Gear Changes:
Item Scaling
Hit and Expertise Removed
Gem and Enchant Changes
Profession Combat Perks Removed

Patch 6.0.2: The Iron Tide hits with a special prelaunch event featuring the Iron Horde. This features an instance with special armor and a new Blasted Lands questline that can only be completed for a few weeks.
Completing the level 90 version of
Upper Blackrock Spire
rewards special ilvl 550 loot, some of which resembles popular old items. We've included loot tables and strategies in our guide.
Completing the Blasted Lands questline rewards
Iron Starlette
and
<Of The Iron Vanguard
>.

Class information
is a crucial resource for players in the prepatch with all the spell changes, so our expert guide writers have updated their beginner class guides for the prepatch and level 100. We've gone for brevity, to give you just the core facts you need to get started, without bogging you down with hugely detailed strategies.
We also have extensive list of class changes throughout the Warlords of Draenor beta. They are organized by spell type and then what's new, changed. and removed. We've also included pictures of changed spell effects and new Tier armor.

The latest Warlords of Draenor Patch Notes have been posted, and we have a TL;DR for different classes, with the full notes after.
Remember that these are not necessarily in line with the current beta build, or the associated datamining.

Fervor

Flurry
's damage by 25%

casts. Each Multistrike of Frostbolt increases that cast's chance by an additional 25%. (Total of 60% on double-Multistrikes).
Power Strikes
now triggers every 15 seconds (up from every 20 seconds), and also triggers from
Effuse
(for Mistweavers only), but no longer triggers from
Crackling Jade Lightning
.
Selfless Healer
no longer causes
to apply to
Flash of Light
