4.3 5-man Dungeon Drops
2011/10/05 at 4:22 PM
We managed to get the loot tables for the 5-mans (prettied up by resident volunteer Neutronimity, thanks!)--this is probably a lot more helpful than our datamined list of items as these show what will drop from where and what stats you can start looking forward to picking up.
A quick rundown of the items: they're ilevel 378 and surprisingly solid stats. The trinkets were taken from Bastion of Twilight and Blackwing Descent in procs and on uses, making them equally solid; whose death knight alt wouldn't want to nab a ?
As a side note, there are also unique dungeon sets for these 5-mans. While they do not have set bonuses, they do have a noticeable style which

4.3 Preview: In-Depth Hour of Twilight Preview, Warlord Blackthorn Dungeon Journal, and More
2011/10/05 at 1:59 AM
So before I get onto the cool stuff, a quick congratulations to the five
Diablo III beta winners
aceofangel, Jarrho, Arawethion, Rainemard,
! You'll have an email sometime this week about your keys.
Anyway, today was another PTR patch so Perculia and I checked it out after our raids tonight--and came up with some interesting stuff, not least of all, a whole lot of screenshots of another 5-man. We also discovered that the dungeon journal entries for Dragon Soul changed, in particular, Warmaster Blackthorn got a new entry which we have included at the bottom of this post.
Hour of Twilight 5-Man Preview
The final stage in this series of dungeons is set in the present-day Dragonblight, now under a full invasion by the Twilight's Hammer. Players must escort Thrall and the Dragon Soul safely to Wyrmrest Temple, where the assault on Deathwing is to commence. But the Twilight's Hammer forces are numerous, and their leadership remains strong. Those attacking the temple are commanded by a man known v
4.3 Valor Point Changes
2011/10/04 at 8:06 PM

With the 4.3 patch we'll be introducing some changes to the way Valor Points (VP) are obtained, as well as the items that they can purchase.
Changes coming in 4.3:

Looking for Dungeon -- 150 VP per run, with a cap of seven runs per week. All Cataclysm heroic dungeons introduced in 4.0, 4.1, and 4.3, will provide 150 Valor per run.

Looking for Raid -- 250 VP per run, with a cap of 500 per week. The 4.3 raid, Dragon Soul, will be split into two separate raids for the Raid Finder. While individual bosses do not drop Valor when using the Raid Finder, you will receive 250 Valor for completing each Dragon Soul raid. Each boss will only drop loot for you once per week, but you will continue to get the 250 Valor for completing each Raid Finder raid, up to the 500 cap.

10 player raid boss -- 115 VP. There are nine bosses per week, counting Baradin Hold.

25 player raid boss -- 135 VP. There are nine bosses per week, counting Baradin Hold.

Valor Points cap at 1000 per week.
Patch notes are up, some pretty interesting stuff like ZG/ZA nerfs--players will no longer have to kill all bosses before moving onto the end boss which should speed it up quite a bit!

Patch 4.3 - PTR Build 14791 - Spell Changes, New Items, and More
2011/10/04 at 4:19 PM
There's a PTR patch that just hit, we're checking it out--might not be too big. Expect this page to be updated. For now enjoy the spell diffs.
The strings we pulled show some hints to the maps for the new raid. The 5-mans have them as well, but those aren't as cool (and you've already seen the first 5-man which had the majority of 'em).

4.3 PTR Coverage Roundup
2011/10/02 at 9:51 AM
It's been a busy week on the PTR for myself and Ashelia. Every day, we find dozens of new things to write about, turning our observations into epicly-long posts. Since there are so many new things, I've provided a roundup of our 4.3 PTR coverage so far--with all the information, perhaps you missed reading something the first time around!
4.3 Preliminary Guide: 3d Models, Items, Holiday Changes, and More
very first overview to 4.3
, we went through the initial 1600 datamined items to make sense of it all. Among other things, we found numerous new mounts and pets, items that hinted at changes to holidays like
Helm of the Fire Festival
, new profession recipes, and many items related to the revamped Darkmoon Faire. We also listed numerous 3d models of NPCs, models, and weapons--as well as making a video of some of the new mount animations. Finally, we listed some of the radical class changes in 4.3, placing them next to Ghostcrawler's quotes on balance for an explanation.
4.3 Preview: Darkmoon Faire and Rogue Legendary Quests
2011/09/30 at 2:21 PM
We have two exciting previews for you today and they both focus on the same content: quests in 4.3. For the first part, we've organized the Darkmoon Faire quests into tables, so you can see what kind of dailies and others you'll be doing during the festivities. We've also included their achievement, so you can see how they factor into achievements.
The second half is the rogue legendary preview--showing the initial quests you'll do. These are awesome and very much based on the class, but you'll have to jump down below to see what Perculia, our resident rogue, thinks! I just play a paladin, after all.

Raid Finder Coming in Patch 4.3
2011/09/29 at 8:07 PM
alt="Raid Finder Coming in Patch 4.3" src="
/>
We are working hard to introduce an exciting new feature to World of Warcraft in patch 4.3: the Raid Finder system. While it presents unprecedented technical hurdles and may change before it’s released, we wanted to provide you with an early look at what we hope to accomplish, and share some details that we’ve worked out, which will lend some insight as to how the new feature is planned to work.
So what is the Raid Finder? It will be a brand new grouping feature that superficially works much like the Dungeon Finder. Instead of five-player dungeons, the Raid Finder is designed to help players quickly and easily form a pick-up raid for a specially tuned version of the current tier of raid content: the Dragon Soul raid. It’s not intended to replace organized raiding though. You’ll still need friends and guild members to help you conquer the toughest raiding challenges that patch 4.3 has to offer.<b
4.3 Preview: Professions, Holiday Pets, Spell Effects, and More
2011/09/29 at 5:35 PM
Day 3 on the PTR: Ashelia and I are still scouring for changes. We took turns screenshotting each other's pets, throwing glittery dust on each other, and rolling alts to test out new spell effects.
The end result: we've found tons of little additions--from the Worgen mount vendor to sassy holiday pets that talk back and hearth away--and also compiled a table of all the new profession recipes.

to the PTR, Ashelia and I covered new items related to professions. Neutro helped us out and made a table of all the recipes on the PTR, including all epic gem cuts and craftable PvP gear!

4.3 Preview: End Time 5-man Coverage, Dungeon Set 3d Models, Dungeon Journal Entries, and More
2011/09/28 at 6:14 PM
Today's been a long day. Like, a really long day.
But I enlisted the help of Perculia and my guildmates; together we tackled the first 5-man End Time (the other two weren't open) for screenshots and videos. We've
also got their drops from the client uploaded on our PTR site
; modelviewer sets of all the new dungeon sets which all match each other, even if they don't have set bonuses; and the dungeon journal entries for every instance. There are a lot of placeholders for the DJ, though, so be warned!
