Strategist: XT-002 Deconstructor
2009/07/24 at 6:22 PM
Time to deconstruct another boss' strategy! Har har har!
I love silly jokes. They make me... silly. But it's true -
is the subject of today's Strategist. Similarly to the other Ulduar bosses, not a whole lot is known XT, other than the fact that he is the last boss in the Siege of Ulduar, he is a mandatory fight, and his voice is the single reason people wipe on him.
XT-002 is located in the Scrapyard, between the Formation Grounds and the Antechamber of Ulduar. He is another one of
's creations, whom XT considers to be his father. Hence the boyish voice, the diligent exercise and dutiful guard. You need to defeat XT in order to proceed further in Ulduar, even if you skip the optional Ignis and Razroscale. The Deconstructor also has a hard mode.
And now, skipping over the break, let's take a look at He-who-does-not-drop-my-
Hunter Q&A with Ghostcrawler
2009/07/23 at 1:59 PM
This Q&A was more adventurous than the others. Just as we spotted it, it was pulled off the official forums (and website, if it ever made it there).
still had it though, so we used their version - you can find the source over at their
. I personally expect changes to be made to the original Q&A (which is what you see here), hence the pulling off. Keep an eye on the thread, we'll try to post the updated version, if there is one, as soon as we can.
Looks like everything is alright with the Q&A now. You can find the source under the quote, after the break (through nine mountains in the tenth, through nine rivers...). The
in the quote was not there before - it's the only new thing.
This time it's Hunter. Remember how I was happy about the Druid one because my next alt would be a druid? Well, the alt I am currently leveling is a
! So I am naturally excited to see what they have to say about it, and about Marksman in particular. I still haven't r

Sam Raimi to Direct Warcraft Movie
2009/07/22 at 1:56 AM
So it looks like
was wrong, in his tongue-in-cheek prediction—it looks as though the Warcraft movie has a director—and it's
Here's the press release:
Especially interesting is the fact that
Ain't It Cool
picked up the story first, after which it was picked up by
, and only THEN did the
official press release
come out—and you may notice there's a typo in the title. Looks like the leak caught Blizzard a little off guard. ;)
o what do you guys think?
Good decision? Bad decision? Hopefully we'll have the chance to post an opinion piece on the subject this week.
Strategist: Ignis the Furnace Master
2009/07/22 at 1:00 AM
Hello, folks! My name is
not important. What is important is that I have finally put together an Ignis guide. Many of you probably have the old giant on farm, but for those who don't - and the future generations - here it is!
Ignis the Furnace Master
is fire giant, located in Ulduar. It is unknown whether he was there originally, or if he was brought by
(although I prefer the former), but one thing is certain - he works for
just as much as Loken did. He is the one who crafted Razorscale's metal armor, and the one who created Kologarn, literally from a chunk of stone. You can find him in his Colossal Forge, on the opposite side of Razorscale.
Not intended to make fun of Dorkins. I love the opening :)
Druid Q&A Follow-up
2009/07/21 at 6:58 PM
did raise points interesting enough for Bornakk to answer a few additional questions. I am not a very active druid player, but one of the things he said looks very interesting to me:
Please continue to
Any chance I am not going to see any "
"s here? :P
As usually, you can find the full content of the Q&A at the following link, or after the break!
A Little Off-Topic: Fallen Earth Beta
2009/07/21 at 6:56 PM
I know that the Wowhead Blog is not exactly a source for general MMORPG news, but this seemed cool enough to bring to your attention.
The guys over at
have set up a partnership with the makers of
to get special Beta invites for ZAM users. If you're interested in giving the game a shot, head on over and check it out!

Increase in Hacked Accounts: Cause for Concern?
2009/07/20 at 6:52 PM
As someone who's been reading and posting in Blizzard's
Customer Service Forum
for over a year now, I can tell you that I've seen my fair share of complaints. Sadly, though, I've been noticing an increase in one particular thing—the amount of accounts that have been compromised or "hacked."
Should this be a cause for concern? With the number of compromised accounts increasing by the day, in spite of the numerous warnings Blizzard has put out, maybe it's time to both clear up the misconceptions as to how an account can become compromised and remind ourselves what we can do to prevent a compromise from happening—or for some of us, from having it happen again.
Reduced Cooldown on Paid Character Transfers
2009/07/20 at 1:24 PM
Eyonix, on the official forums, has just let us know that they're changing the cooldown on paid character transfers from 30 days to 3 days, in an effort to lend a hand to people who make a character transfer they regret!
Lot of big changes coming up for transfers these days. I'm definitely curious to hear how you guys feel this is going to affect the game experience.
The original blue post is after the break!
Wowhead Weekly Review (July 12 - July 18)
2009/07/19 at 2:25 PM
Hey there! This is our nineteenth Wowhead Weekly Review!
Apart from the two new Class Q&A series (found in the class section below), there is good news for
everyone! Queggy now officially has returned from his vacation alive! So much goodiness!
Opinions presented in the Wowhead Weekly Review are not necessarily those of Wowhead.com or its staff members.
Anyway, read the wall of text after the break!
Goblins and Worgen
2009/07/17 at 5:50 PM
: New set of masks was released in Build 10128 - MMO-Champion was quick to capture them again
I know many of you use
for news, quick references, and other goodies. I do too. And, chances are, you have noticed (or will soon notice), a pretty bold title on the front page:
Goblins and Worgens are the new races of the Expansion
. I know threads about it will start popping like
. So I thought I'd make a blog about it and keep the comments in one place. I am so handy!
If you haven't read
's justification on the "new races" (it is by no means confirmed by Blizzard), read on after the break!
Warrior Q&A with Ghostcrawler
2009/07/16 at 7:54 PM
A little late on this one too! What with all the time we're spending on the
combined with some big news we have for next week, and we're a little slower on the draw than usual this week. But here it is, the Warrior Q&A! Thanks to
for helping me throw the blog together.
I can't comment much on the actual content here, Warrior is not a class that I play—the rage mechanic never really appealed to me, and the interview below indicates the same may be true of the developers!
You can read the entire interview after the break, or read the original one linked below:
