600k More Subs, Hotfixes and Patch Notes for Patch 6.0.2, Warlords Class Tuning Changes
2014/10/13 at 8:09 PM
Blizzard has released the final patch notes for tomorrow's Patch 6.0.2: The Iron Tide! We can't do our usual TL;DR, as these are the final notes, and nothing is marked as changed.
We've also added in the latest round of beta class changes--these are hotfixes, and as such, cannot be datamined and visible on Wowhead tooltips just quite yet.
WoW now at 7.4 Million Subscribers
Blizzard published a
today, detailing that WoW was at 7.4 million subscribers on September 30th. This 600,000 sub gain is no doubt an indication of the excitement at the end of a content drought. This is no doubt welcome news for Blizzard after the most recent
investor call had the game at 6.8 million
Legendary Cloak Still Required for Ordos in 6.0
Community Manager Rygarius has posted the following on the official forums:
Edit: Spoke too soon. The change below has been reverted. Eligibility for loot from defeating Ordos has not changed. It still requires one of the characters on an account license to have obtained the Legendary Cloak.
Access to Ordon Sanctuary or eligibility for loot from Ordos no longer requires players to have completed the Legendary Cloak questline.
Don't forget that newly boosted characters for 6.0 don't get all their abilities just yet. This is an excerpt from the patch notes which you can read in full below.:
Newly Boosted Characters now start on the front lines in the Blasted Lands, doing whatever they can to stop the Iron Horde pouring out of The Dark Portal and start with a basic set of spells and abilities for their class. Characters unlock the rest of their spells and abilities by advancing through the Iron Horde Incursion world event in the Blasted Lands.
Gearing Guide for the 6.0.2 Prepatch: Gearing up Quickly, Changed Gems, Enchants, and More
2014/10/12 at 11:59 AM
With currency changes coming in the prepatch and an item level requirement for the special version of UBRS, we thought we’d put together a guide on some easy new ways to get gear. Since many gear details are changing as well, we’ve put in a refresher course on item changes relevant to the prepatch as well!
We also have a
guide to everything new in 6.0.2
, a look at the
special prepatch event
, and a guide to
--time is running out!
Gearing up Quickly
Justice and Valor Point Gear
As Valor Point and Justice Point items now cost a few hundred gold, this means you have many epic items available for purchase.
Epic ilvl 489 gear formerly cost Justice Points. If you have an ancient 90 that doesn’t have boosted gear, these are sold choices for all slots except weapons. Sold by
--click on the NPC to see all of the the items.
Epic ilvl 522
gear formerly cost Valor points. While most of this gear requires Friendly, each boss gives 300 reputation and trash gives reputation too from Neutral to Friendly. Plus, you can buy the ilvl 522 neck at Neutral. All slots are covered except weapons, with Shoulders requiring Exalted and probably not that practical for gearing up quickly. Sold by
Transmog tip: a lot of old Cataclysm tier pieces that cost Justice Points are now available for gold--try out a new mog!

The following post below covers information about the prelaunch event for Warlords--

Patch 6.0.2: The Iron Tide
is scheduled to crash into Azeroth on Tuesday, October 14. Featuring new content heralding the Iron Horde incursion, updates to the skills and abilities for every class, and a host of gameplay adjustments, this overture to Warlords of Draenor is coming at you armed to the teeth.
The Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands has turned blood red. Hundreds of strange-looking orcs are violently pouring into Azeroth, killing everything that stands in their path. Nethergarde and Okril’lon have already fallen, and while the Horde and the Alliance moved as quickly as they could to get reinforcements to their people, they are too late. The Iron Horde invasion has begun.
In this desperate hour, King Wrynn and Warchief Vol’jin have called upon their greatest champions to join the front lines in the Blasted Lands and do whatever they can to stop the Iron Horde . . . before the rest of Azeroth falls before them.
Word of this surprise attack sends players rushing to the Blasted Lands to reckon with the barbarous infiltration. After the fall of a high ranking Iron Horde general named Gar’mak Bladetwist, you’ll report what you’ve witnessed in the Blasted Lands to King Wrynn or Warchief Vol’jin. It’s apparent to both the Horde and the Alliance that this is only the first salvo in a much larger conflict, and the only way to win is to take the fight directly to the Iron Horde . . . by journeying through the Dark Portal into Draenor.
The Infiltration of Blackrock Spire
An advance party of Iron Horde forces has barged right out of the Blasted Lands and pushed all the way to Blackrock Mountain, where they found refuge and supplies in Upper Blackrock Spire. There can be only one response: the Alliance and the Horde of Azeroth must face this iron incursion head on.
Available to level-90 characters for a limited time, this specially revamped five-player version of Upper Blackrock Spire sets the stage for the coming counterstrike against the Iron Horde. Here, you will face Orebender Gor'ashan, Kyrak, and Commander Tharbek as you begin to take the fight to the enemy and sharpen the skills—and swords—you’ll need to succeed on an unwelcoming alien world.Prepare yourself. Draenor is waiting.
