News Roundup: Proving Grounds Silver Required for WoD Heroics, Talk Azeroth Episode 27
2014/02/22 at 12:33 PM
Early this morning, it was announced that Heroic Dungeons in Warlords of Draenor would require the completion of Silver Proving Grounds for your role (tank, healer, or dps) to queue up with randoms. This was hinted before in our
Patch 5.4 interview with Tom Chilton
. Keep in mind this is just for matchmaking groups--you don't need any medals to queue up with friends.
Proving Grounds will be retuned for level 100s in Warlords, and more attention will be paid to make sure tuning is even across the board for each spec. If you want to check out Proving Grounds now, check out our
guide to Proving Grounds with maps and strategies
Olivia is also back with another episode of Talk Azeroth, hitting all this week's news, and there's a lot to get through! She starts off with a discussion of the price for the level 90 boost, then moves into looking at the new character models. Next up it's some PvP talk, but PvE fans can skip ahead to 23:45 to get past it to a brief chat and a question about the new questing style introduced with WoD!
New Talents at Warlords of Draenor Press Event
2014/02/21 at 10:15 AM
At the WoD press events held this week in San Francisco, Korea, and France, attendees were able to demo an updated version of Warlords of Draenor. Gameplay videos from Korean site
reveal that some class talents have changed since BlizzCon, so we've updated our
Warlords of Draenor
talent calculator with visible changes and transcribed them below. (Update 2/24: Venom Zest tooltip in!)
Check out our Warlords of Draenor Talent Calculator!
The level 100 talent
Breath of Sindragosa
received some modifications. It now reads: Continuously deals 2000 Shadowfrost damage every 1 sec to enemies in a cone in front of you within 12 yards, and affect them with Mark of Sindragosa for 6 sec. You will continue breathing until canceled or Runic Power is exhausted. Mark of Sindragosa causes you to be healed for 5% of spell damage dealt by afflicted enemies.
The level 75 talent

New Female Dwarf Model on Warlords of Draenor Site
2014/02/20 at 5:36 PM
We've seen images of the new Female Dwarf model already at BlizzCon, but a 3D version was just added to the official
Warlords of Draenor page
We’ve updated the model viewer on our website with a look at one of the revised characters you’ll see in Azeroth and beyond with Warlords of Draenor. Meet the new and improved female Dwarf.
It was a challenge for our character artists to find a balance between the classic female dwarf model and the expressiveness of her fluid new animations, but we think the updated model says “descended from unyielding stone” as much as “griffon-riding, ale-swilling, loud-living hero.”
We’ll continue to unearth more of

Patch 5.4.7 is scheduled to go live today on Tuesday, February 18th and this mini-guide covers all the patch changes and additions.
This is mainly a PvP patch with the start of Season 15. There are also some tweaks to Timeless Isle weapons and better loot from the Celestials. There is also a bug where all Recruit-a-Friend and Scroll-of-Resurrection mounts aren't showing up for players in-game, but that should be fixed

Also, earlier today we covered how
Level 90 boosts were visible in the in-game store and cost $60
, but after more server maintenance, that has been removed. No level 90 boosting today!
Celestials and Gear Changes
The four celestials on the
now drop ilvl 550 Season 15 PvP gear instead of ilvl 522 Season 14 PvP gear. These items are fairly good for new alts or players that don't raid Normal

Level 90 Boosts Cost $60, PvP Spectator Invite System in Warlords
2014/02/18 at 12:20 PM
In between server restarts, our friends at WoW Insider saw that the in-game store was updated to show $60 as the cost for a level 90 character boost. The servers were taken down soon after, so perhaps this feature isn't meant to be live yet.
Read more about it here
We also have a new post from Blizzard on PvP improvements in Warlords, such as Skirmishes and Spectator Mode. The Trial of the Gladiator system is also going to be scrapped.

Warlords of Draenor will introduce tons of new features and updates to improve and expand upon many aspects of World of Warcraft, including the PvP experience. We gave you a first look at some of our PvP plans BlizzCon, and as with any development process, plans can sometimes change as they—well—develop. We’d like to share a few of those changes with you today.
