Legion Alpha UI Additions and Improvements - Transmog, Professions, View Distance, Resource UI
2015/12/07 at 9:03 AM
The Legion Alpha is filled with numerous UI additions and improvements, ranging from massive developments like the Wardrobe Transmog tab and revamped Profession UI to effective smaller tweaks like a new Combo Point UI. Below are the major changes we've found - while these are all subject to change as Legion is in very early development, it's a good start.
Transmog Collection and Wardrobe
At the top of the Wardrobe UI, there is a progress bar showing how many appearances for a particular slot you have collected.
The new options shirts, tabards, and weapon illusions are included.
When you acquire a quest item, you receive a message that several appearances have been added to your Wardrobe collection. You can then delete that item and keep the transmog appearance.
At BlizzCon, it was announced that all rewards from quests you'd previously completed would automatically be added to your Wardrobe collection. (This is not implemented yet.)
The actual items included in the transmog UI seemed buggy, so we'll be highlighting what's included at a later time. However, the UI for displaying items is very user-friendly, with image thumbnails of all the various models.
Mousing over an image thumbnail brings up the name of the transmog item, as well as a list of items with the same appearance. Hit tab to cycle through them.
There are options to preview your character wearing the selected gear, and to create and save outfits.

You can spend Artifact Power on unlocking traits for your Artifact Weapon. There is a starting trait marked by a gold circle, minor traits marked as smaller circles, and major traits marked by gold dragon circles.
You can unlock your traits in a set order, which we have replicated on our calculator. You cannot start unlocking traits anywhere on the weapon UI in-game. You can eventually unlock every single trait, which our calculator's behavior reflects.
As you select your traits on our calculator, a summary of your traits and ranks will appear underneath the calculator for easy reference.
Our calculator also supports Artifact Relics. Every weapon can have two types of relics socketed, and relics can be acquired from most content in Legion--boss drops, quest rewards, etc.
Relics increase your weapon's item level and also unlock
for minor traits.
These relics only affect
--you cannot apply extra ranks onto any trait on your weapon.
Vale Shadow Frost
Let It Go

, up from
Relics can be socketed on the calculator by clicking on the relic graphics at the top of the calculator and selecting the relics from the drop-down menu. Traits that are affected by a relic will light up with a white border when that relic is selected. Once a relic is chosen, you can then add additional ranks to that particular trait.
Not every weapon has relic data yet, below are the weapons that do:
Frost Death Knight: Blades of the Fallen Prince
Guardian Druid: Claws of Ursoc
Balance Druid: Scythe of Elune
Arcane Mage: Aluneth, Greatstaff of the Magna
Fire Mage: Felo'melorn
Frost Mage: Ebonchill

Subtlety Rogue: Fangs of the Devourer
Affliction Warlock: Ulthalesh, the Deadwind Harvester
Destruction Warlock: Scepter of Sargeras
Fury Warrior: Warswords of the Valajar
Protection Warrior: Scale of the Earth-Warder
