Most probably a reference to Gahz'ranka and the "rooki" meaning rookie as he has to learn much to become like is "bigger" self

For those who have no idea what the heck a Godzooky is (Bless your souls), it was the name of a character in the late 70's Hanna-Barbera cartoon "Godzilla". Basically, Godzooky was a smaller, sillier, and cowardly version of the King of Monsters himself, who often failed to fly or coughed up smoke when he tried to use a breath weapon. As pointed out in other comments, Gahz'rilla itself is a reference to Godzilla, so Gahz'rooki = Godzooky.

General reaction to Godzooky was either love or pure hate, depending on who you asked. Mostly hate.

Figure I should edit this with actual information since it's somehow the top comment:

This is purchasable from the Darkspear Rebellion faction with Radical Mojo, an item you get from doing the Weekly quest Battlefield: Barrens. Radical Mojo is also used for a variety of other things, such as creating ilvl 489 Epic items. If you're already decked out in better gear, the only other item buyable with the Mojo is the Raptorhide Boxing Gloves, which let you fight another boss in the Brawler's Guild.

As of 5.4, this item can no longer be purchased, as the Darkspear Rebellion faction has been removed from the game. Instead, it is a rare drop from Kor'kron mobs in the Barrens.

Apart from the Godzooky quote, it also kinda of share the looks with Gahz'rilla, a boss in zul farrak wich gave you the famous Carrot on a Stick trough Gahz'rilla, a quest from the shimmering flats. It mostly is also a quote from there since zul farrak is overrun by trolls, and you get the pet from trolls ^^

FYI, this pet makes one of the most irritating sounds. A loud screech then a grumbling every few seconds.

Will this pet's vendor be removed after 5.3 due to the wording on Hordebreaker as it says the achivement can only be gained in 5.3 is that some form of sign this pet be unable to get once the upcoming patchs come out or will it be a little more time.

If this item does become unable to get who ever was smart and got one each week would be one of the richs players in wow due to as you all may know items that you can no longer get are worth more then anything.
say its a 1 out say 10a after waiting a few more years for everyone that may of got it to be gone right and no one in your realm other then you is selling them that would mean you could put the price sky high at a point in time & I mean realy high.

This war with the warchift once it ends makes me wonder what will happen you know.

I think after it ends everything will look back to normal & I am not sure anyone want to varify me on this.

It would be smart to buy a bunch of these and save them for a long time to sell! Once this event is over they're gone for good.

edit- It may say it's BoP but you can CAGE the pet and put on auction house. please think

FYI: You can trade this pet AFTER you learn it and then put it in a cage.

Gahz'rooki will be converted to a rare world drop after the Barrens world event concludes with the launch of 5.4. Farm it NOW if you're a pet collector.

Well, as of this week and the new mini-patch, it appears that Gahz'rooki has been silenced. He no longer makes any noises. RIP the deep bass sound of Godzilla clearing his throat underwater!

Can anyone confirm if this is indeed a zone wide drop now as suggested? I can see no drop data here for anything other than the event NPCs.

Give it is a usually busy zone for starter Horde, I would assume it would at least show up by now.

Got this while trying to get the brawlers item. Killed probably around 200-300 mobs before it dropped. Just thought you'd like to know!

Got one of these while farming for the brawler quest.
Seems to have more or less the same dropchance as the rare bag (24-slot),
but bigger chance than the brawlerquest.

Basing that with the fact that I have now killed aroun 300 mobs. Gotten one pet. One bag. No questitem.

Not sure if its helpful but I wonder if they didnt adjust the drop rate. I was there 5 minutes, didnt even clear the first round of mobs in the area and one dropped *shrugs*
I have terrible luck with rare drops so it makes me wonder if it isnt so rare after all.
