Totems, Idols and Librams are a great source of extra abilities only available to a few certain other classes in replace of a secondary ranged weapon.
This looks to be exactly the same as Idol of Longevity, yet it requires level 70 and has a higher item level.
Idol of Longevity (
Idol of Longevity
Binds when picked up
Requires Level 60
Equip: Gain up to 25 mana each time you cast Healing Touch.
I'd guess it's so similar to Idol of Longevity because nobody will be doing Naxx after TBC is released anyway, hence another version could be nice.
They should buff it just a little tho... 30-35 mana or so, seeing as the highest HT at level 70 costs more...
Scratch my last one-week-old comment there.
It seems they changed this idol.
It used to be the exact same as Idol of Longevity (25 mana each Healing Touch cast), now it's reasonably better.
Definitely something I would get for my druid.
This is a VERY nice druid idol, for any druid really, because we pretty much all heal at some point or another. Also, notice the tooltip does not say "up to x healing." It just says it adds 136 healing period. I *hope* that means it adds 136 regardless of rank used.
This also should be quite attainable given that it drops from the second boss of Karazhan.
Corrected healing value.
Very nice druid idol, drops from Moroes in Karazhan.
dont think it can be said that this is good for *all* dr00ds
in tree form you cannot use HT...so its pretty much useless apart from the odd occasion where you need a big heal really fast, so pop out of tree, NS then HT.
ended up passing on it for benefit of void crystal
Dropped of Moroes in Karazhan -
This is a nice idol for some druids, this isn't really good for anything as Tree of Life.
But if you heal like some druids do, downranking, or just using rank 13 healing touch, this is a must have item.
There's alot of other, better idols, for a druid who actually uses his tree of life form.
Like this one, from Arena points:
is nice to.
and ofc this one, that will be addet in next patch (2.1)
Alll druids will get it after completed the epic flight form Quest.
So i can really see why this Avian Heart idol is so good, especially not since Tree of Life owns in many ways.
Happy Idol Hunting :)
This idol is ideal for Dreamstate Specced HT druids or for solo healing heroics.
I personally find this trinket brilliant as it works with every rank, 25 mana 300 heals for the win.
I made a macro for PvP/Arena to make this idol useful:
/equip Idol of the Avian Heart
/cast Nature's Swiftness
Then cast HT at your discretion, and switch back to your preferable HoT idol when done.
Swapping idols while
out of combat
does not trigger global cooldown. Swapping idols while
triggers global cooldown. Does it make any sense? No. Is that how it works? Yes.
The macro /cast spell /equip idol will swap your idols avoiding global cooldown. However, it looks like not all the spells get the benefit from the first cast. For instance, if you use
/equip Idol of the Emerald Queen
and press that macro three consecutive times, you won't get the healing increase the first time, but you will do the second and third (since the idol is equiped). I've been testing the idols I have and here's the result:
Idols that grant the benefit since the first cast:
- Idol of Terror:
- Ivory Idol of the Moongoddess:
- Idol of the Avenger:
- Idol of the Crescent Goddess:
And won't get the benefit since the first cast with:
- Idol of Feral Shadows:
- Idol of the Emerald Queen:
- Harold's Rejuvenating Broach:
- Everbloom Idol:
-> some further testing must be done.
Also note that if the spell/ability is not cast, the idol swapping will occur. So try to be sure that you have mana/energy, the ability is not on cooldown and you're at range.
If anybody can share their tests, I will update this post.
Is this another one of the silly drops outta Kara that is just hugely luck based? In over a year it has only been seen once in my guild. Am I crazy or is this one of the more rare drops? Of course everybody has their luck for specific items, but wow.
I don't get it, I'm asking a question about the drop rate and I'm getting negative ratings for doing so. I have been after this for over a year and I'm just trying to figure out if everybody has actually had to try and go after this for so long.
I wouldn't say it's useless for TOL, just situational.
There are times when you just have to do a NS&HT and at that time the idol is far from being useless.
Given the availability of idols for healing druids anyway, what other options do we really have?
Looking over idols we can use, ( I won't even use the pvp ones since in raiding, a tol is keeping a rolling lb on a tank and not letting it bloom all the time although it's nice to for raid healing) there are..
Idol of Budding Life reduces mana base of rejuv by 36
Idol of the crescent goddess reduces mana base of regrowth by 65
2 other idols that seem more worthwhile than the above "epics" are
nice + heal buff to tol aura but a reward from the swift flight form quest.
nice + heal to the lifebloom
and dropped from shadow labs.
anyway before writing this idol off as useless at least look at our options.
Personally I find it's those situational events that a tree druid can really shine.
Rather useless in my opinion, healing touch is high on mana therefor many, if not ALL druids do not use it. So besides just a slot filler this has no point.
