Can these come from Battlegrounds as well, because it seems difficult to obtain on a PvE server

These are obtained from killing enemy players if you have the Gladiator's Coliseum built in your Garrison. Players killed in world PVP drop multiple bones, generally 3-6, and go straight into your inventory as currency just like honor. You need 4,000 Broken Bones to unlock your level 3 Gladiator's Coliseum and work towards entry into the Highmaul Coliseum gladiator event that grants the title Lord of War or Lady of War from the achievement The Last of Us.

You can also complete work orders in your Coliseum, turning 10 bones for each work order in your Coliseum towards 1 Conqueror's Tribute.

Tried it once in BG, didn't get any Broken Bones.
However I got two Bones from killing a person in World PvP while questing :)

This is definitely one of those types of design concepts i believe the Blizzard team had in mind with getting people back into World Player-versus-player content; -it's brilliant.

As a player from a PvE server, it feels to me like it will become trickier to get into World-pvp situations in the new zones, but i feel these Garrison additions will eventually give people that reason to go out and pick a fight. XD

Also, i see this becoming another Kill-trading situation amongst friends and guilds who have opposing faction alts -which isn't against the rules or anything, but may be frowned upon by most people. Players did this way back during TBC for those tokens that you needed to purchase a certain mount (i can't quite remember the name.)

Either way, it's another exacting addition and i cannot wait to see how this progresses.

Has anyone tried wintergrasp/tol barad?it would be nice to see those revitalized. WG at least, TB still gets busy from time to time.

They drop in Ashran. You'll get several hundred every few minutes with full raids.

Are healers able to loot these if they do not land a killing blow while in Ashran?

Best way to get these is to go to Ashran and get into the main group.

Join the fight or just kick back on the sidelines and you can rack up thousands of bones.

I recently upgraded my coliseum to level 2 and killed a bunch of people in Nagrand. So I decided to do some work orders with these bones, but the iLvl of the gear I got was 600 not 620. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong, but I figured I would give people a heads up.

Does anyone know what the hell to do with these once you have tons? I've had all work orders at the Gladiator's Sanctum filled almost since WoD was released. You don't SPEND those 5k to upgrade it--just the achievement from collecting that many unlocks the blueprint.

So uh, sitting here with 5526 Broken Bones filling my bags. What do I do with them?

EDIT: It costs 100 Broken Bones to queue for the free-for-all Coliseum match, for Fight, Kill, Salute!

I have over 20,000 of these, tempted to delete them but I have a feeling Blizzard will add another way to burn off excess bones pretty soon so I am banking them just to be safe.

For healers that are in a raid group, as long as one of your group members gets an honorable kill by doing some damage, you get the bones as well. You can freely heal and not worry about tagging (unless you are solo or a member of a different group does damage to the target without anyone from your group doing any damage,).

Don't know what to spend your Bones on? Thinking of throwing them away? Don't!

It costs 100 Broken Bones to queue for the 20-man deathmatch Coliseum arena/battleground.

It's accessible once you have a level 3 Coliseum and have completed the lead-in quest given to you by the ogre who will appear outside of your Garrison after the upgrade.

It's required to complete the quest Fight, Kill, Salute! which is in turn required for the title, Warlord of Draenor. Or, if you manage to pull off being the 'last man standing,' the title Lord of War.

Wish you could turn these in at Ashran too. So easy to get so @#$%ing much of them.

For people worried about getting these on a PVE server. I was able to join the main Ashran raid group and got the 4,000 bones needed in a little under 2 hours. Just stay with the main raid group and keep fighting non stop and the bones will flow in.

Now my PVE server is pretty balanced but for ones that are heavy alliance or horde population this might be a lot harder to collect since there will be no one to kill. And since you can't collect them in BG's you really only have Ashran.

Yea, I got about ~17k of them, and i'm literally running out of Space!, I seriously with they'd go into the Currency Tab, or Stack in stacks of 10k or something, cuz as some1 suggested, What happens when we get 100k of then!
Cuz even if it costs us 100 measly bones per que, that's 170 QUEs i'd have to enter, @ ½ hour per que and assuming i'm not 1st or 2nd in those 170 times that's 85 hours of pvp which is over 3 days straight! i don't think i need that many!

they should be made into currency and problem solved!

For anyone wondering how you queue for the Gladiator Tournament mentioned (costs 100 bones to queue)... get your Glad Sanctum to tier 3 and Gharg will show up outside your garrison with a quest Call of the Gladiator that sends you to Nagrand

IMPORTANT HOTFIX: (Decembver 9th, 2014)
Gladiator's Sanctum: Characters can now accumulate up to a maximum of 5000 Broken Bones at a time.
Meaning you can only carry a maximum of 5000 of these on a character (bank included). You will stop receiving them once you hit 5000. Not sure why Blizzard didn't update the item info to say "Unique (5000)" but hopefully they do so in the future so new people don't get confused.

So I don't know if anyone else pointed this out but I discovered that you do not need to have Broken Bones in your bags to do sacrifices. They can be in your bank and still do them. I just tested it today.

Wuttup, long time reader and user of Wowhead, first time poster. I had a lot of problems with this so I created this account to specifically post about this.

If you are going for the 4k achievement of bone collector which is needed to get into the colliseum, don't be like me. I sat in Ashran for 4+ hours, getting ~1.2k bones at 1-3 per honorable kill.

What you must do which is KEY is upgrade your gladiator sanctum to level 2, then each honorable kill gives approximately 4-7 bones per honorable kill. Much easier than at the rate I was before.

Just ask for an invite when you get into Ashran, roll in the back of the main group so you don't die and rake in the bones. :)
