This Gronnling is one of 7 new rarespawn-dropped mounts. Warlords of Draenor adds 2 variations of Gronnlings, with this being a tan/brown version.

6 of these rarespawns have a 100% chance to reward their respective mounts for everyone that participates in the kill. source

The 7th, Nok-Karosh, is unique in that only 1 Garn Nighthowl drops from him. The mount is unbound, meaning it can be traded or sold on the auction house.

Sunhide Gronnling is received from killing Poundfist.
Mottled Meadowstomper is received from killing Luk'hok.
Bloodhoof Bull is received from killing Nakk the Thunderer.
Great Greytusk is received from killing Gorok.
Sapphire Riverbeast is received from killing Silthide.
Swift Breezestrider is received from killing Pathrunner.
Garn Nighthowl Drops from Nok-Karosh.

Found him 25 mins ago in Bladefist Eu realm that was exactly 17:30 server time in Gorgrond near Dionor's Demise . Will upload the co-ords where we killed him and a screenshot of me mounting it :).

He is a 95lvl rare elite who can easily be solo-ed. We found him and was shoutting in trade chat. After waitting for 5 mins we downed him receiving this wonderful Gronnling

Killed Poundfist last nigth around the canyon in Gorgrond (Ragnaros-US), i had no idea he dropped a mount, just ran across him and since he was rare and i was farming garrison resources i had to kill him. :D

It's a really cool mount and very few ppl seem to have it yet.

Best way to get this one is to get in a camp group, but stick where the majority of the group is waiting, because even if they are told to wait for others...some times they don't and it's a quick chain effect once someone hits him .

I just tapped him to assure I got my tag in, and even then I all most missed it because he was down in like 5 seconds...don't trust everyone to do the right thing here, sadly they won't always.

I'm US-rexxar but saw a camping group for this while scrolling through premades. Was stoned and not paying attention to which realm it was. Pretty sick mount regardless, pretty unique atm, haven't seen too many with it.

FYI as a smart and lazy way to farm for this guy, do what I did.

His spawn timer is 50-80 hours as others have said. So there's no use camping him on say Tuesday after a reset. However the community is very actively keeping logs of his kills on forums and social media. You can use this to significantly cut down on how much camping you personally need to do.

What I did was wait until Friday/Saturday when he will have surely spawned on some servers but not others. Then go to the Premade Groups finder and queue for a Poundfist camp. What you really want is a group that has reasonable evidence that he has not yet spawned (i.e. consistently camped and no confirmed kills for the week.) Join that group (preferably on a Saturday) and camp for as long as you'd like, say 1-8 hours.

If you're lucky like me and your group is correct that he has not spawned, by the time you start camping you're already in the 70-80 hour time window since the last reset and you'll only have a matter of a few hours until a spawn. Worst case scenario, you only lose a few hours of your week (as opposed to 30-80 hours of your week) and you can always casually try again next week.

The method described above gives a rather good chance for success for relatively small time investment. Of course the downfall is that if everyone did this, the method would fail to work. However I'm quite sure that others will continue to camp regardless.

Personally I got pretty lucky using this method, invested about 1.5 - 2 hours of camping on my first try and killed him at his spawn point of (51,43). I can also confirm that cyclone still works on him, with diminishing returns, as of 11/29/14. Everyone in our group got over to him in time and got a tag in. It helps to have at least 1 druid and 1 warlock in the raid group for cyclones and summons.

strangest thing happened to me.

was not in a group, near the breaker's beak spawn, there where loads of other allies near, and after an hour e gave up and returned to the garrison.

i used the mole to get to gorgrond again, then went to breaker's and headed to the spawn, and no players where there, and poundfist was there! invited a realid friend and we both got the mount.

then he left the group and other group invited me, and i phased into theyre group, then i left and was invited to a raid group and phased again...

i dont get it...is it possible that everyone on my realm where phased due to being in groups with peepz from other realms? i was on aggra+grim batol.

ps - went to nagrand and same thing happened, nakk was there and there where just 2 guys (horde this time) beating him. i killed it, but before i could loot the body disappeared, so did the 2 horde!...weird stuff is going on today...

A quick and easy tip for groups setting up to camping poundfist base on my experience:

1. Raid leader should make it clear to all members to equip only their neck/cloak/ring/trinket slots and leave every other slot pieces EMPTY, not even their weapon. (reason being jerks will tend to nuke PF once seeing him spawn, making as much ppl as possible without their gears will help slowdown the process because you can't equip back your items in combat to nuke PF)

2. Don't give assist to everyone because you don't want them to mass invite people from other servers to mess up your phase (Blizzard phasing system is a bit messy now, and normally take raid leader's server as main phase and might occasionally phase you to another server if your server is no longer the majority)

3. Give assist to ONE/TWO trusted camper at each spot for spamming /rw when it spawns.

4. Get everyone to save their Hearthstone location to Breaker's Crown. (Talk to the rat to save HS location)

5. If you don't have Aviana's Feather, you better be damn sure you have it, it will help.

6. Don't be overly excited when you see PF spawn, make sure people are here before raid leader give green light for everyone to TAG with autoattack or just a spell. DO NOT CYCLONE him the moment you see him, it puts him into combat. Only cyclone when you see jerks hitting him without waiting, and proceed to get your members here ASAP.

7. Lastly be patient, play a game of Hearthstone while camping or something. Good luck!

One day after school I opened the game and the first thing I did In-game was opening quickly Group Finder and Searching for Poundfist camping. In that second someone made a group that he's up and people are waiting. I'm so lucky, ain't i? XD

Just wanted to make mention about cyclone. I was in a group a few days ago for this guy and when he spawned we did have a few people hit him before the rest of the raid made it over to the spawn point. I was on my druid and a guildie who was with me was also on his. We were both casting cyclone and he was immune to it. (Other druids in group said the same) Luckily everyone in the 40 man got over in time to make the tag before he went down but I thought I would just share that info. Good Luck to all getting this guy...he is an awesome mount!

Got the sunhide gronnling today after browsing groupfinder and noticing 'Poundfist is up!' signed, got accepted on third attempt. Took a mole machine to gorgrond. Popped the feather and flew over there, poundfist was up and at half life. Ate a death as i canceled the feather and reincarnated. (shammy) Tagged him and patiently waited till leader told he was free to nuke down.

You learn Sunhide Gronnling.

Lovely mount, but far too large. Cant pass -any- doors! Not even the big ones.

Spawn and Kill this morning @ 2:30am EST on Drenden-US after leaving group I was in for about an hour and phasing back home he was spawned on top of me at the northernmost spawn point. 3 or 4 Hordies were waiting, I called out for 3 mins before they pulled and nobody else came. Sad days but what a great addition to my mount-bag!
