Collect 50 Timber to turn in to which will complete a work order. Garrison Supplies are rewarded.

Max stack: 250.

Each work order requires 10 timber and takes 4 hours so a full stack will have you covered for 6.25 days.

It seems you need to have this in your inventory to start work orders (at least enough to start one, so that you get the right dialogue frame)
If all are in the Reagent Bank, you can't start a work order.

Edit Nov 22: this seems to have been fixed now! I was just able to start work orders with all my Timber in the Reagent Bank.

Important (but annoying) Note: You can only have 250 timber in your bag at a time. If you click to harvest a tree it will tell you that you can not carry any more of that item, however the tree will still disappear.

You need to have your timber in your bag when you give orders to your sawmill. Having it on the bank will not work. I assume this is a bug, other materials can be used from your (reagent) bank.

I have too much of this stuff. Is using it at the lumber mill with work orders the only way to spent it?

I found a fantastic place to farm this Timber at the Broken Horn Village just east of the Blackrock Foundry in Gorgrond. Fast respawns, and lots of them. No flight path at the site though. I was level 99 when I found this place even though the area level is 90-93.

Everbloom Wilds in Gorgrond is a great spot to gather timber. Just run up and down the green crescent to the right of the label on the map. If you're a night elf hunter, I recommend running without a pet and rotating FD, Shadowmeld, camoflauge, freezing trap, and a ground mount. There's a lot of mobs in the area but we have enough tools in our toolbox to avoid killing 95% of them.

Broken Horn Village is now home to level 100 elites, so use caution if farming here.

When I first did this part of the quest, I thought this was h@#$. The Everbloom seemed to be the only place to get
Timber ... not SMALL Timber or LARGE Timber, but plain, normal, medium, Level 2 Timber. This is what you need to chop down in order to spawn Loruk the Ancient. Gorgrond is full of Small and Large Timber, with only one or two spots in the Everbloom (level 100 daily apexis quest area) where Level 2 Timber spawns.

But there is an area on the north coast that is shown on the maps but isn't readily available. It is Broken Horn Village and the area EAST of Broken Horn Village is full of trees and many of them the Level 2 Timber. Since Broken Horn Village is full of 100 Elites, if you are Alliance you cannot just walk in. You only need to get to the East of Broken Horn Village and there are no mobs at all ... just Timber. So, if you are horde and can get to the summoning stone to Grimrail Depot (@ 55.8, 33.6), then you can follow the path northeast to Broken Horn Village.

If you are Alliance or Horde that cannot get to the Grimrail Depot Summoning Stone:

1. Horde and Alliance both can take the path out East (the one running on the north edge of Crimson Fen), or you can go through Crimson Fen to the open water.

2. Off the on the path north of Crimson Fen is a pathway down the cliff to the water.
This path starts at (where the path brushes right along the cliff as it turns fairly sharply) and comes out in the water at (where you would take it to get up the cliff).

3. Whatever your water walking ability or mount, get on it and follow the coast north.

4. :

Alliance: There is a small beach area, and, as you face the cliff, there is a path going up to the timber @ .

Horde: Just go a little further, there is a marker post with a flame atop (@ 61.9, 19.7) it marking your path to Broken Horn Village.

5. Go there ... lots of Timber. Eventually Loruk the Ancient will spawn after collecting Level 2 Timber and then you kill him, looting the Twig of Loruk.

If I had only known this earlier it would have saved me a lot of grief. But now the word is out, folks like me will use this place when they have characters that need timber but don't NEED to be played. It is a quick filler-up Timber supply.

I absolutely hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but it looks like Broken Horn Village has been hotfixed. 3 days ago I could get 25+30 timber in one loop, that loop taking maybe 5 mins tops. Now it takes me two or three loops to get it... there are less trees, they spawn slower and in different places than they used to. I do believe Broken Horn has been nerfed guys. Now what do we do?

I had excellent luck in Talador, on the Orunai Coast while questing in the area though once done with questing this would be a reasonably easy lumber grind. (sorry I didn't collect exact stats, just hadn't seen anyone suggest this yet) Seemed to have a good spawn rate for all sizes of trees (small, med & a few large thrown in)

Looks like the cap of 250 a stack was removed. How much it is now, I don't know. I just know that I have 289 Timber and can get more if I wish to. Additionally, you can have multiple stacks of Timber now.

It does appear that the limit has been removed. They now stack to 1000 with what appears to be unlimited stacks. Now we just need a 'Got Wood?' achievement.

As of 1/5/14, Timber now has no limit and stacks up to 1000.

If you're wondering a 1000 stack of Timber can feed your garrison continuously for 16 days
