Azerite Traits and The Heart of Azeroth

You'll carry the Heart of Azeroth throughout the entire expansion. It is the new "Artifact Weapon".

The Heart of Azeroth is empowered by Azerite and will automatically absorb any nearby Azerite. No loss of bag space or time spent clicking!

Once the Heart of Azeroth absorbs enough Azerite, it can level up. Upon reaching certain levels, it will awaken some latent properties in another piece of gear.

Layout

Current testing pieces seem to have the following layout:

Tier 2: One generic trait and one option per class specialization;

Tier 1: Two generic utility/defensive traits.

Tier 0: Azerite Empowered

Azerite Gear

The current plan is that Helm, Shoulders, and Chests will be able to be empowered by the Heart of Azeroth. Those pieces have no secondary stats, meaning only the traits should influence you equipping them.

Each of these pieces has 3 rings; each ring has multiple traits on it. When a ring is unlocked, players will be able to choose a single trait to learn.

The outer ring unlocks first and consists of 4 possible choices. The middle ring unlocks second and consists of 3 possible choices. The inner ring unlocks last and consists of 2 possible choices.

A piece with the same name will have the exact same layout of traits -- You'll be able to see it in the Dungeon Journal. No RNG!

However, higher item level pieces will have more powerful traits, but Azerite attuned pieces can not titanforge.

Offensive traits will also be paired on the same ring as other offensive traits. Utility traits will always be paired on the same ring as other utility traits. This will create meaningful choices.

Once you choose a trait, the ring will rotate until your choice is at the top!

Currently, in Alpha, you cannot change the trait selected on each tier.

For example, Ateena's Fall rewards Azerite Power armor. All possible Cloth, Leather, Mail, and Plate rewards will include Filthy Transfusion on the top level as well as Self Reliance and Impassive Visage on the middle level.

Ablative Shielding - Falling below 20% health grants you 0 Armor for 10 sec. Taking further Physical damage reduces the Armor granted. May only occur every 30 sec.

Azerite Empowered (Tier 0) - Increases the item level this item by 5.

- When stunned, immobilized, or knocked back, you heal for 347.

Blood Siphon (Tier 2) - Increases your Mastery by 28 and your Leech by 14.

Bulwark of the Masses - When you are surrounded by 4 or more enemies, gain a shield that absorbs 832 damage. Cannot occur more than once every until cancelled.

Champion of Azeroth (Tier 3) - Contributing to the death of an enemy of Azeroth heals you for 624 and grants you 22 Versatility for 1 min, stacking up to 2 times.

Crystalline Carapace - When dealt damage greater than 10% of your maximum health, gain 72 Armor and cause melee attackers to suffer 83 Physical damage. Lasts 12 sec.

Ephemeral Recovery - Casting a healing spell restores mana over 8 sec. Stacks up to 4 times.

Gemhide - When dealt damage greater than 10% of your maximum health, gain 0 Avoidance and 0 Dodge for 10 sec.

Impassive Visage - When you take damage, heal for 139. Cannot occur more than once every 6 sec.

Lifespeed - Increases your Haste by 28 and your Avoidance by 14.

Longstrider - Increases your movement speed by 10% of your highest secondary rating, up to 3%.

On My Way - Increases your Versatility by 28 and your Speed by 14.

Resounding Protection (Tier 1) - Every 30 sec, gain an absorb shield for 208 for 30 sec.

Self Reliance - While no enemies are within 20 yds, you heal for 70 every 3 sec.

Synergistic Growth - Casting your multi-target healing spell grants you 0 Mastery for 10 sec sec. This cannot occur more than once every 30 sec.

Vampiric Speed (Tier 1) - When an enemy you damaged dies, you heal for 624 and gain 49 Speed for 6 sec.

Winds of War (Tier 2) - Taking damage grants you 0 Dodge for 3 sec, stacking up to 10 times.

Azerite Veins - Taking damage has a chance to grant you Azerite Veins, healing you for 34 every 3 sec. Lasts 18 sec or until you are fully healed.

Bracing Chill - Your heals have a chance to apply Bracing Chill. Healing a target with Bracing Chill will heal for an additional 83 and move Bracing Chill to a nearby ally (up to 6 times).

Concentrated Mending - Your healing effects have a chance to grant the target (7 * 2) additional healing every 2 sec for 12 sec. This effect doubles every 2 sec.

Elemental Whirl - Your damaging abilities have a chance to grant you Elemental Whirl, increasing your Critical Strike, Haste, Mastery, or Versatility by 0 for 10 sec.

Embrace of the Sands - Critical strikes by your abilities have a chance to create a localized Sandstorm, damaging enemies and healing allies within 10 yards for (77 * 4) every 2 sec for 6 sec.

Fury of the Sands - Attacks have a chance to deal 77 additional Physical damage. Critical strikes by this damage are multiplied by 300%.

Gutripper (Tier 2) - Your damaging abilities have a chance to deal 347 Physical damage to the target. Gutripper occurs much more often against targets below 30% health.

Heed My Call - Your damaging abilities have a chance to deal 154 to your target, and 15 to enemies within 3 yards of that target.

Mote in the Eye - Your abilities have a chance to grant you (77 * 6) critical strike rating, decreasing by 77 every 2 sec.

Overwhelming Power - Your damaging abilities have a chance to grant you 25 applications of Overwhelming Power. Each stack of Overwhelming Power grants 15 Haste. An application of Overwhelming Power is removed every 1 sec or whenever you take damage.

Savior (Tier 2) - Your heals on targets below 35% health have a chance to heal for an additional 208.

Strength in Numbers - Taking damage has a chance to increase your maximum health by 1088 for each enemy within 0 yds, up to 5 enemies. Lasts 15 sec.

Upwelling - Taking damage has a chance to create an upwelling of Azerite beneath your feet, increasing your Health by 1905 and your Armor by 111 while you stand within it. Lasts until cancelled.

Woundbinder (Tier 2) - Your healing effects have a chance to increase your Haste by up to 0 for 6 sec. Healing lower health targets will grant you more Haste.

Your damaging abilities have a chance to invoke a tainted swamp beneath the target, siphoning (270 * 6) health from them over until cancelled.

Meticulous Scheming Your spells and abilities have a chance to grant you Meticulous Scheming for 8 sec, which transforms into Sieze the Moment! after you cast 3 different spells, granting you 55 Haste for 20 sec seconds.

Being attacked by an enemy of the Loa has a chance to call a Child of Rezan to grant you a blessing, healing you for 462 and increasing your primary stat by 116 for 1 min.

Your damaging abilities have a chance to call a Child of Rezan to viciously rend your target, dealing 156 Physical damage and causing them to bleed for (4 * 31) damage over 12 sec.

Ruinous Bolt Your spells and abilities have a chance to draw a Wandering Soul from Thros. The Soul will launch blasts of dark energy at your enemies, dealing 693 Shadow damage over 14 sec. When the Soul departs, it heals you for 1% of the damage it dealt.

Your spells and abilities have a chance to summon a cylone of piercing winds. Enemies inside the cyclone take 693 damage every 2, and deal 231 less damage to you.

Your spells and abilities have a chance to create a Surging Droplet nearby. Collecting it increases your primary stat by 110 for 18 sec.
Rarely, a Void Droplet will be created, increasing your primary stat by 219 for 18 sec instead.

Your spells and abilities have a chance to draw a Wandering Soul from Thros. The Soul grants you some of its power, increasing your 154 Critical Strike for 14 sec.

Your spells and abilities have a chance to draw a Wandering Soul from Thros. The Soul grants you a shield that absorbs 231 damage for 14 sec. When the shield is consumed or expires, the Soul releases a wave of dark energy dealing 539 Shadow damage to all enemies within 8 yds.

Bone Spike Graveyard - Casting Death and Decay impales enemies with bone spikes, inflicting 47 Physical damage and healing you for 125 per enemy.

Dark Grudge - Death Strike heals for an additional 0.5 sec of damage taken, and Death Strike deals an additional 231 damage.

Decimate - Obliterate has an additional 5% chance to trigger Rime, and Obliterate deals an additional 539 damage when it critically strikes.

Deep Cuts (Tier 3) - Heart Strike deals an additional 77 damage when hitting 3 or more targets and heals you for a percentage of the damage done.

Festering Doom (Tier 3) - Death Coil causes your next Festering Strike to deal an additional 77 damage.

Horrid Expulsion - When Dark Transformation expires, the unholy energy in your ghoul is expelled, dealing 157 Shadow damage to all nearby enemies.

Icy Citadel (Tier 3) - Pillar of Frost grants an additional 77 strength while you are above 75% health.

Latent Chill - Frost Strike deals an additional damage if you have at least 3 empty runes.

Scourge the Unbeliever - Clawing Shadows and Scourge Strike grants your Ghoul 5 energy, and Clawing Shadows and Scourge Strike deals an additional 231 damage.

Your autoattacks have a chance to apply Glacial Contagion, dealing (s1 * 7) Frost damage over 14 sec. Obliterate deals an additional 58 damage to targets infected with Glacial Contagion.

Death Strike heals for an additional 34 for each remaining charge of Bone Shield.

Festermight Bursting a Festering Wound grants you 51 Strength for 20 sec, stacking. Stacking this effect does not extend its duration.

Spellreaper When you successfully dispel an effect with Reap Magic, gain 408 Absorb for 20 sec

Devour (Tier 3) - Using Demon's Bite 3 times in a row grants you 23 Mastery for 4 sec.

Gaping Maw - Lesser Soul Fragments heal for 3% more, and Soul Cleave deals 97 additional damage.

Revel in Pain (Tier 3) - When Fiery Brand expires on your primary target, you gain a shield that absorbs up to 4695 damage for 15 sec, based on your damage dealt to them while Fiery Brand was active.

Seething Chaos - Chaos Strike generates 3 Fury over 3 sec, and increases your Critical Strike by 0 for 9 sec.

When Eye Beam finishes fully channeling, your Haste is increased by 0 for 8 sec.

Immolation Aura increases your Armor by 81, and causes melee attackers to take 23 Fire damage.

Consuming a Soul Fragment shields you, granting 173 Absorb for 3 sec

Awakening - When you resurrect an ally with Rebirth, they Absorb 1639 damage over 15 sec

Bloodline - Rip has 2% additional critical strike chance, and deals an additional (3 * 12) total damage.

Fungal Essence (Tier 3) - Swiftmend causes your Efflorescence mushroom to burst, healing a nearby injured ally for 231

Heartblood (Tier 3) - Mangle increases the healing of the next ability to heal you by 231.

Long Night - Increases the duration of Moonfire by 1.0 sec, and Moonfire grants 0 Mastery for 15 sec.

Primordial Rage (Tier 3) - While Berserk is active, your Rip deals an additional (s1 * 1.857) damage each time it deals damage.

Rejuvenating Breath - Increases the duration of Rejuvenation by 1.0 sec and the total healing of Rejuvenation by (7 * 6).

Streaking Stars (Tier 3) - While Celestial Alignment is active, your spells call a Streaking Star, dealing an additional 231 damage when they are not a repeat of the previous ability.

Twisted Claw - Mangle deals an additional 3% damage against bleeding targets, and grants you an absorb shield that prevents 385 damage for 6 sec.

When Lifebloom expires, if the target has Rejuvenation and Regrowth it heals for 385.

Increases your Mastery by 0 and Armor by 0 for 10 sec after Survival Instincts expires.

If 3 or more targets are suffering Moonfire, Lunar Strike deals an additional 85.

Rake increases next damage of Ferocious Bite by 23.

After your Tiger's Fury, your next four Shreds are increased by 23.

If Rejuvenation is your only Heal over Time effect on the target, increase the healing of Rejuvenation by 46.

Solar Wrath increases the damage of your next Starsurge by 39.

Arrowstorm - Increases the damage of Aimed Shot by 77 and has a 4% chance to reset the cooldown of your Rapid Fire.

Aspect of the Cheetah - Adds an additional 77% speed to the initial 3 seconds of Aspect of the Cheetah.

Flashing Fangs - Kill Command increases the damage of your next Cobra Shot by .

In The Rhythm (Tier 3) - When Rapid Fire finishes fully channeling, your Haste is increased by 0 for 8 sec.

Raking Talons - Mongoose Bite and Raptor Strike have an additional 6% critical strike chance against targets that are below 50% health, and Mongoose Bite and Raptor Strike deal an additional 83 damage.

Ride the Lightning - Increases the critical strike chance of Aspect of the Wild by an additional 5% and causes your attacks to deal 77 additional Nature damage, chaining to up to 2 targets.

Rotting Jaws - Kill Command has a chance to deal 77 to (77 * 5) additional damage and grants you 6 Focus over 3 sec.

Seize the Initiative - Aimed Shot has an additional 8% critical strike chance against targets that are above 90% health, and Aimed Shot deals an additional 434 damage.

Serrated Jaws (Tier 3) - Kill Command has a 40% chance to deal an additional 156 damage and grant your Pet 15 Focus.

Vigorous Wings - Increases the duration of Aspect of the Eagle by 8 sec and causes your Mongoose Bites to deal an additional 462 damage when they critically strike.

Whirling Rebound - Increases the damage of Hatchet Toss by 77 and causes it to return to you, dealing 539 damage to enemies it strikes.

Wildfire Cluster (Tier 3) - Wildfire Bomb drops a small cluster of bombs around the target, each exploding for 31 damage.

Arcane Shot increases the damage of Arcane Shot by 63 for 3 sec, stacking up to 2 times.

Bestial Wrath increases your Agility by 78 for 8 sec.

Serpent Sting damage applies Latent Poison, stacking up to 10 times. Your Mongoose Bite / Raptor Strike consumes all applications of Latent Poison to deal 36 Nature damage per stack.

While Trueshot is active you gain 86 Critical Strike rating every sec, stacking up to 10 times.

Arcane Annihilation (Tier 3) - Arcane Blast deals an additional 154 damage while you have 4 Arcane Charges.

Arcane Pummeling - Each wave of Arcane Missiles deals 14 more damage than the previous one.

Blast Radius - Arcane Blast deals 5% damage to all enemies within 5 yds of the primary target, and deals an additional 231 damage.

Flames of Alacrity (Tier 3) - Enhanced Pyrotechnics grants an additional 0 Haste.

Ignition Point - Ignite damage from Fireball is increased by 5%, and Fireball deals an additional 69 damage when it critically strikes.

Packed Ice - Frostbolt has 5% additional critical strike chance, and deals 139 additional damage.

Packed Ice (Tier 3) - Ice Lance deals an additional 34 damage to enemies recently damaged by your Frozen Orb.

While channeling Evocation, your Intellect is increased by 52 every 1 sec. Lasts 10 sec.

Scorch increases the damage the target takes from your Fire Blast by 188 for 30 sec.

Iron Fists (Tier 3) - Fists of Fury grants you 0 Critical Strike for 6 sec when it hits at least 4 enemies.

Swift Roundhouse - Blackout Strike and Blackout Kick have an additional 5% chance to critically strike and deal an additional 125 damage.

Your Enveloping Mists heal the target for 62 each time they take damage.

Righteous Bastion - Shield of the Righteous grants damage reduction for 0.50 additional seconds, and does 55 additional damage.

Zealotry - Crusader Strike deals an additional 6% damage over 4 sec, and does 111 additional damage.

Avenger's Might While Avenging Wrath is active, your Mastery is increased by 46.

Flash of Light grants you 77 Critical Strike for 6 seconds if it heals a target below 50% health.

When Guardian of Ancient Kings expires, your Shield Block Value is increased by 193 for 10 sec

Crusader Strike has a 3% chance to Condemn your target, dealing X Holy damage after 7 seconds.

Your Blade of Justice critical hits cause the target to burn for an additional 208 Holy damage every 2 sec over 6 sec.

Aura Mastery also grants your allies 308 Max Health for its duration.

When your Avenging Wrath ends, gain up to 616 Strength/Intellect for 15 seconds, based on how much damage and healing you did while Avenging Wrath was active.

Hammer of the Righteous heals you for X if your health is below 20%.

Judgment's damage is increased by up to 34, based on the difference between your health percentage and the target's.

Flash of Light on your Beacon of Light target is increased by 62.

When Guardian of Ancient Kings expires, your Block Value is increased by 539 for 10 seconds.

Your Holy Light critical strikes refund 25 mana during Avenging Wrath.

When Shield of the Righteous expires, gain 154 block and deal 231 Holy damage to all attackers for 4 seconds.

Your Blade of Justice critical hits also burn the target for 96 holy damage over 6 seconds.

When you cast Divine Shield, grant 182 absorb for 15 sec to nearby allies.

Gain 116 strength for 6 sec every time you heal a target below 50% HP with Light of the Protector.

Your Flash of Light heals for an additional 62 when cast on a target affected by your Beacon of Light.

Bindings of Fate - Casting Heal on an ally also heals you for 8% of the value, and Heal restores an additional 208 health.

Moment of Repose (Tier 3) - Pain Suppression applies Atonement to the target and instantly heals them for 313.

Permeating Glow (Tier 3) - Flash Heal increases the healing of your Flash Heals on that ally by 63 for 6 sec.

Pillar of Light - Smite has an additional 5% chance to critically strike, and it deals an additional 69 damage.

Searing Dialogue (Tier 3) - Mind Sear deals an additional 25 damage to enemies suffering from your Shadow Word: Pain.

Torment of Torments - Shadow Word: Pain's duration is increased by 1.0 sec, and it deals 139 additional damage instantly.

Echo of Light from Holy Word: Sanctify heals for an additional (110 * 2).

Casting Vampiric Touch increases the damage of your next Shadow Word: Void / Mind Blast by 157.

When you cast Fade, absorb 495 Magic damage for 10 sec.

Healing an ally with Penance increases the damage of your next Smite by 125. Damaging an enemy with Penance increase the absorption of your next Power Word: Shield by 219.

Contaminant - Mutilate has a 10% chance to apply additional Deadly Poison, and does (62 * 2) additional damage.

Deadshot (Tier 3) - Between the Eyes increases the damage of your next Pistol Shot by 231.

Sharpened Blades (Tier 3) - Your autoattacks increase the damage of your next Shuriken Toss by 15, stacking up to 20 times.

Double Dose (Tier 3) - When Mutilate applies Lethal poison with both daggers, it poisons them for an additional 94 damage.

Subtle Blade - Nightblade's duration is increased by 1.0 sec, and deals 14 additional damage whenever it deals damage.

Swashbuckler - Saber Slash has 3% additional chance to strike twice, and does 49 additional damage.

Nightblade increases the damage of your next Eviscerate within 8 sec by 46.

Storm of Steel Extra strikes from Sinister Strike increase the damage of your next Dispatch by 62.

Allies within 8 yds while your Sprint is active gain 77 Speed.

Envenom deals an additional 62 damage to targets with Garrote.

Ancestral Reach - Increases the healing of Chain Heal by 77 and causes it to bounce an additional time.

Astral Shift - Increases the damage reduction of Astral Shift by an additional 77%.

Electropotence - Increases the critical chance of Stormstrike by 8 and causes Stormstrike critical strikes to deal an additional 231 damage.

Embrace of the Tides - Increases the critical healing of Healing Surge by 154 and causes it to prevent up to 231 damage over the next 6 sec.

Flames of the Forefathers - Increases the damage of Lava Burst by 308 and causes it to grant an additional 5 Maelstrom.

Healing Way - Healing Surge critically heals for an additional 5%, and further heals for 462 more on targets below 35%.

Lightningburn - Increases the damage of Chain Lightning by 77 and causes your Fire spells to deal an additional 231 damage for 4 sec.

Overloaded - Increases Lightning Bolt's Overload chance by 5% and damage by 154.

Primal Primer (Tier 3) - Melee attacks with Flametongue active increase the damage the target takes from your next Lava Lash by 15, stacking up to 10 times.

Storm's Eye - Increases the critical strike chance of Crash Lightning by 77 and increases the radius of Crash Lightning by 1.

Striker's Grace - Reduces the cooldown of Stormstrike by 5% and increases the damage it deals by (2 * 45).

Volcanic Lightning (Tier 3) - Lava Bursts on a target that has been struck by your Lightning in the last 4 sec deal an additional 77 damage.

Soothing Waters (Tier 3) - Your Chain Heal heals its primary target for an additional 23 healing.

Healing Tide Totem restores up to 54 additional health each pulse, based on how close your allies are to the totem. Maximum benefit for allies within 8 yds of the totem.

Flame Shock damage increases the damage of your next Earth Shock by 31, stacking up to 20 times.

Rockbiter causes your next melee ability, other than Rockbiter, to deal an additional 188 Nature damage.

When you cast Astral Shift and when Astral Shift ends, heal for 433

Heavy Rain (Tier 3) - When your Rain of Fire damages 3 or more targets, gain 77 Haste for 8 sec.

Meteoric Flare - Hand of Gul'dan has a 5% chance to refund a Soul Shard when it hits a target, and deals an additional 69 damage.

Shadow's Bite (Tier 3) - When your summoned Dreadstalkers fade away, they increase the damage of your Shadow Bolt by 47 for 8 sec.

Suffer - Agony's duration is increased by 1 sec, and it deals (3 * 6 * 9) additional total damage.

Unshackled Fel - Chaos Bolt deals 5% damage to all other enemies within 5 yds of the primary target, and deals an additional 231 damage.

Wracking Brilliance (Tier 3) - Every other Soul Shard your Agony generates also increases your Intellect by 63 for 6 sec.

When your spells strike a target due to Havoc, they have a 40% chance to deal an additional 376 Chaos damage.

Damaging an enemy with Corruption increases the damage of your next Drain Life by 4. This effect stacks up to 100 times.

Your Hand of Guldan has a 15% chance to burn its target for 193 additional Shadowflame damage every 2 sec for 6 sec.

When you use a Healthstone, gain 88 Leech for 20 sec

Picking up the Power Matrix causes a surge of power that moves towards whomever holds the Power Matrix. Inflicting 184 Arcane damage to all enemies within 4 yards every 0.5 sec.

Bloodcraze - Bloodthirst has 5% additional critical strike chance, and deals 146 additional damage when it critically strikes.

Deafening Crash (Tier 3) - When Thunder Clap damages only one enemy, it deals an additional 157 damage and grants you an absorption shield for 313.

Trample the Weak (Tier 3) - Rampaging an enemy whose health percentage is lower than yours increases your Versatility by 0 for 6 sec.

When Bloodthirst does not critically strike, it increases your Haste by 0 for 6 sec.

While Ravager is active / Bladestorming, every 1 sec you gain 22 Speed and Ravager's / Bladestorm's damage increases by 125. Lasts 6 sec.

When Devastator / Devastate resets the cooldown of Shield Slam, your Strength is increased by 78 for 8 sec.

So far all of the talents look kinda ... boring? What can i say. Would've liked if they went a bit more wild with it but it is what they said it was gonna be : Netherlight Crucible 2.0

At least on Android phones when using Chrome, the Death Knights Azerite trait tab does not appear. Instead the traits are listed under General Traits.
