Havoc Demon Hunter M+ Guide - Legion 7.3.5

Raddon's Cascading Eyes - Generally the go to legendary for mythic+. Reduces the cooldown of Eye Beam depending on how many targets you hit which has great interactions with both the T21 2 piece as well as 4 piece bonus. It also provides you with a higher uptime of Metamorphosis because of the Demonic talent choice.

Sephuz's Secret - The infamous Sephuz's Secret! It's overall the second best legendary in any dungeon. It's essentially proccable on almost all trash packs and most bosses. Sephuz should be used over Anger of the Half-Giants whenever it's possible to benefit from the proc.

Delusions of Grandeur - Shines in higher keystones where boss fights or even mini bosses takes longer than usual to kill, providing extra Metamorphosis usage which makes Demon Reborn an even stronger talent choice as well as it usually makes Metamorphosis line up with Nemesis. You generally use this in order to make sure Metamorphosis comes off CD before engaging a boss or important trash pack but also rivals or even beats Raddons on pure single target fights depending on your gear.

Anger of the Half-Giants - This is the overall go to legendary for a lot of demon hunter players but it's in my opinion overrated. The only time I end up using this item is when Sephuz is not proccable which is rare in a mythic+ scenario. Definitely a great legendary whenever Sephuz isn't applicable though!

Survivability

Achor, the Eternal Hunger - Definitely underrated for survivability. There's a lot of dungeon bosses that doesn't have direct one shot mechanics but healing heavy ones. Healing yourself every 25 seconds as well as granting leech for 8 seconds can be a game changer.

Prydaz, Xavaric's Magnum Opus - Should be used on any boss that has the potential to one shot you. The stats as well as the gem slot doesn't make it a bad legendary for DPS in general either!

Insignia of the Grand Army - Only used for survivability IF you have one or more Master of Shadows traits. This legendary will then grant you even more avoidance which is extremely important to have on the higher keystone levels. The added mastery isn't terrible either!

Niche Scenarios

Cinidaria, the Symbiote - Only used on the last boss in Halls of Valor - Odyn. Half of the fight is when he's above 90% health since the fight starts with him at 100% health and ends at 80%!

Kil'jaeden's Burning Wish - Can be used if there's a massive pull about to happen.

This set up rivals the above mentioned set up damage wise, but you lose the extra Metamorphosis, as well as Blur/Eye Beam/Chaos Nova resets with Demon Reborn, but in return you gain more frequent Demonic windows.

Boss fights with frequent add cleave

Raddon's Cascading Eyes + Anger of the Half-Giants - Provides the most damage because of the reduced CD on Eye Beam and the increased frequency of Demonic windows.

Raddon's Cascading Eyes + Sephuz's Secret - Provides the most damage because of the reduced CD on Eye Beam and the increased frequency of Demonic windows. If Sephuz is applicable, it outshines Anger.

Delusions of Grandeur + Raddon's Cascading Eyes - A bit of a niche set up that shines on specific fights where you can spam Eye Beam but also want the extra Metamorphosis. Ymiron, the Fallen King in Maw of Souls for example.

Trash packs/Heavy AoE

Raddon's Cascading Eyes + Sephuz's Secret - Raddon's and Sephuz generally have a good interaction between each other and together they create the strongest consistent AoE damage.

Raddon's Cascading Eyes + Kil'jaeden's Burning Wish - You can exchange Sephuz for Kil'jaeden's if there's a massive pull incoming and the mobs have an overall low HP pool.

Unstable Arcanocrystal - An all around great trinket for any scenario.

Eye of Command - A crit statstick on steroids, limited to target swapping. Great trinket but can be a bit hard to make use of in mythic+.

Golganneth's Vitality - Assuming you have this at 1000 ilvl it's almost always equipped. Good trinket both on single target and AoE.

Seeping Scourgewing - Currently the best pure single target trinket after Golganneth's.

Forgefiend's Fabricator - Generally good for trash packs that aren't being kited also a great trinket in your Mastery gear set.

Ishkar's Felshield Emitter - Might look odd on a trinket list for a DPS spec but it's used on bosses with 1 shot mechanics - essentially a second Prydaz that you can also use on your party members!

Umbral Moonglaives - Used for big pulls that wont last very long.

Void Stalker's Contract - Used for big pulls that wont last very long.

Diima's Glacial Aegis - Used for physical damage survivability and if you need a strong slow for kiting certain trash packs.

Hunger of the Pack - Just a statstick, any statstick at a high enough ilvl is never bad.

Aman'Thul's Vision - An arcanocrystal on steroids, amazing trinket for mythic+ in any scenario. The added Avoidance, Leech and Speed proc is of course superb as well.

Mastery Statsticks - Used for your mastery gear set mainly or heavy AoE since mastery gains a lot of value on AoE.

Failure Detection Pylon - If you are about to wipe and want to skip the run back. It's also quicker than a regular resurrection. Especially useful on Quaking weeks which interrupts resurrection casts.

Auto-Hammer - Summons an anvil which you can repair your gear with.

Turnip Punching Bag - Easier to build resources before starting a keystone.

Skystep Potion - General speed increase, used in various scenarios.

Skaggldrynk - Whenever you and your group are skipping parts of an instance.

Flask of the Seventh Demon - Agility flask, should always be used for damage.

Flask of Ten Thousand Scars - Stamina flask, might sometimes push your HP high enough to live an extremely hard hitting ability.

Potion of Prolonged Power - The potion you will generally chain throughout a dungeon run.

Potion of the Old War - Used ONLY if a boss has an amplified damage taken window OR if you get resurrected on a boss and it's already low on HP so that you won't benefit fully from a Potion of Prolonged Power

Engineering Only Items

Frag Belt - A belt enchant on a 1 minute CD that throws a bomb which incapacitates targets hit, hence also stopping their current cast.

Jeeves - Just a regular repairbot, serves the same purpose as the Auto-Hammer but also gives you access to your bank in case you run out consumables or forgot to bring an important piece of gear with you.

Ultimate Gnomish Army Knife - Has a chance to resurrect your target, however cannot be used in combat. Mainly useful if your healer dies and you can attempt to resurrect him after dropping combat.

Useful Addons

WeakAuras 2 - One of the most flexible addons that can track essentially anything. I consider it a must have.

MoveAnything - Allows you to move - yeah you guessed it - anything that is a part of Blizzards standard UI.

Bigwigs/Littlewigs - Raid/Dungeon addon with timers and such. Pretty much a must have.

Affixes - Strength and WeaknessesBolstering

Havoc has quite good focus damage which makes it easy to bring a mob with higher health to the same health level as the rest of the pack, make sure you Nemesis the target with the most HP in a pack so that it evens out with the rest. Eye Beam also deals exactly the same damage to all mobs it hits so you will deal even damage to everything you eye beam. Certain dungeons have big packs of mobs with very low health pools, in these scenarios you should tell your group to not deal damage and let you solo kill them evenly with Eye Beam spam.

Necrotic

You can't do much else than provide a plethora of stuns for your tank. Darkness can help on bigger pulls to prevent Necrotic from stacking rapidly.

Quaking

This is quite an annoying affix for Havoc DHs even though we are a melee class. Eye Beam gets interrupted by Quake hence you have to make sure you don't Eye Beam as Quake is happening - it will interrupt your Eye Beam but also lock you out from using for example Chaos Nova. It also eats a large portion of your Prydaz on bosses where you use it.

Raging

Make sure you save your stuns for when the mobs are about to hit 30% health in order to prevent them from killing your tank.

Sanguine

Make sure you don't stun when the mobs are about to die since they will then be stuck in the Sanguine pools. Eye Beam has an annoying animation so it takes a little while to cancel - so don't get stuck in pools of Sanguine when you Eye Beam!

Skittish

Annoying affix to deal with if, especially if your group lacks Misdirection or Tricks of the Trade. Make sure to let your tank properly pick up aggro and use Blur as well as Blade Dance if you are about to pull aggro or already over-aggroed your tank. You can also save Chaos Nova for when you over-aggro your tank. If you are a Night Elf you can Shadowmeld to reset your threat.

Teeming

This is the dream affix for Havoc DHs. More mobs = more targets to hit with Eye Beam = quicker Eye Beam resets = major damage increase. You will also have more targets to stun which will give you more souls to consume from Overwhelming Power which in turn buffs Feast on the Souls and Demonic Appetite

Explosive

Annoying affix for anyone to deal with - however Havoc DHs are quite good at killing them! Chaos Strike one shots explosive orbs and Chaos Cleave deals damage to the rest of the pack. Keep in mind that no cleave abilities will do damage to them such as Blade Dance, Throw Glaive and Eye Beam. Killing an explosive orb will also give you a soul fragment which works great in combination with Feast on the Souls and Demonic Appetite!

Grievous

It's every healers dream to have a Havoc DH in their group when this affix is present. We can often bring ourselves out of the grievous debuff with our baseline 30% leech during Metamorphosis and Demonic windows. Even better if you choose to play Soul Rending which will give you 100% leech instead.

Bursting

Havoc DHs are very well equipped to deal with this affix themselves as well as providing Darkness for the group to avoid massive amounts of damage.

Blur is up for almost every trash pull and our passive 16% magic damage reduction from Illidari Knowledge.

You can also Netherwalk if there's massive bursting stacks.

Volcanic

Generally not an issue for any melee class, just make sure you don't get stuck in the Eye Beam animation as volcanic plumes spawn under you!

Dungeon Tips and TricksAmalgam of Souls

It's common that groups choose to use Skaggldrynk or Draenic Invisibility Potion to skip the trash up to the first boss because it's annoying to deal with and generally not worth the time.

Boss Tips

Make sure that you stun as many of the Restless Souls as possible in the phase that starts at 50% and make sure that you have Eye Beam ready so that you can invoke Metamorphosis to quickly kill off the Restless Souls before they reach the boss. Avoid dying to Soul Burst with Netherwalk.

Illysanna Ravencrest

The trash leading up to Illysanna is rough for any melee class, however Havoc is surprisingly well equipped to deal with it. The infamous archers are the bane of the melees. Make sure your tank keeps the trash packs close to a line of sight so that you can avoid the Shoots from the archers. You can also Blur in order to dodge most of the Shoots as well as Blade Dance the shoots if timed correctly. You should aim to stun the Risen Scouts' Knife Dance casts as often as possible since it will most likely kill you otherwise.

Interrupt the Risen Arcanist as often as possible to prevent the Arcane Blast stacks from snowballing.

Boss Tips

If you get targeted by Dark Rush make sure you either Netherwalk or Blur as it's about to go off or Vengeful Retreat in order to avoid the Blazing Trail that is likely to kill you, since the Dark Rush itself doesn't deal high damage.

The first corridor after Illysanna has Wyrmtongue Scavengers & Wyrmtongue Tricksters. Avoid standing their fire breath ability Indigestion as well as avoid their spinning ability - during it, they will fixate on players and spin towards them. Try to stun the spinning ability since it causes them to take increased damage for a brief period.

It's very common that groups pull most of the corridor here so make sure you got your Mastery gear set ready!

Leading up to Smashspite there's a bunch of Felspite Dominators with bats swarming around them. It's common that groups pull all of the Felspite Dominators together with the bats either up to Smashspite OR down to the stairs you came up from with the usage of Skystep Potions. You have to watch out for their cast Sic Bats! which causes the bats to fixate on the targeted player, be ready to press Blur and stun the bats as well as the Dominators. The Felspite Dominator will also cast Felfrenzy which buffs their damage by 50% (stacks up to 500%). Make sure you interrupt these casts as often as possible.

Boss Tips

Havoc really shines on Smashspite because you can soak every single Hateful Charge with Blade Dance henceforth dodging it and not taking any damage, making the fight significantly easier for your group. Make sure to press Blur/Netherwalk after the charge though for his Earthshaking Stomp.

It's somewhat common that groups pull all of the remaining trash in the dungeon down to Smashspite's room and kite them around. But make sure you dodge the Raven's Dive ability casted by the Risen Lancers.

Boss Tips

Make sure Netherwalk is up for his Shadow Bolt Volley that he casts before you get the HP buff from Legacy of the Ravencrest.

Make sure Eye Beam is ready for Stinging Swarms so that you can burst them down in the Demonic window. If targeted by a Stinging Swarm you should use Blur or Netherwalk. You can also use Metamorphosis as it's flying towards you to avoid it from even spawning. Darkness can be used on either Shadow Bolt Volleys or if a person with no defensive cooldowns gets targeted by a Stinging Swarm.

Agronox

Avoid Dur'zaks Shadow Wave, a huge cone in front of him targeted on a random player.

Wrathguard Invaders targets range players with Fel Strike, make sure you position yourself so that you aren't between the mobs and the range players of your groups.

Interrupt/Stun Felguard Destroyers Shadow Wall, you can also imprison to stop the channel if they complete the initial cast but keep in mind it removes all dots from the target.

Interrupt/Stun Hellblaze Soulmenders Demonic Mending.

Helblaze Felbringers will target the tank with Devastating Swipe, make sure to not stand in the cone.

There will be two types of bats, Dreadhunters which has to be interrupted on their Dread Scream as it will otherwise fear your whole group. There's also Dreadwings but they do not possess the Dread Scream ability. Both bat types targets the tank with a frontal cone called Shadow Swipe, make sure to not stand in the cone.

Boss Tips

Try to hit the Fulminating Lashers that spawn with Eye Beam to help out your range players. When the Succulent Lasher tries to cast Succulent Secretion, try to stun it as late as possible to force it to spend more time casting, and less time meleeing the tank. If it lines up you should use Nemesis on a Succulent Lasher since it's the same mob type as the boss (elemental).

Thrashbite the Scornful

Turn away when the mini-boss Gazerax casts Blinding Glare and make sure to use Blur during his Focused Destruction.

Boss Tips

Make sure to stun and interrupt books when they spawn from a Scornful Charge destroying a bookshelf.

If you get targeted by his Scornful Gaze you should soak the Scornful Charge with Netherwalk rather than use a bookshelf to avoid spawning adds. You do not have to move out of his Pulverizing Cudgel because you can Blade Dance at the end of the cast henceforth dodging it and avoiding all damage.

Make sure to dodge Nal'ashas' Venom Storm and frequently stun her spiderling adds to help out the tank.

Boss Tips

Avoid the frontal cone Felsoul Cleave that is targeted at the tank.

Make sure to save your Eye Beam and/or Metamorphosis for 90% and 50% respectively in order to burst down the Fel Portal Guardians before they finish the Approaching Doom cast. Interrupt and stun the imps that spawn at 90% from the portals as well as the Hellblaze Mistress' that spawns from the portals at 50%. Also use Blur whenever you are in melee range of the Hellblaze Mistress' to avoid dying from their Shadow Sweep that hits everyone within melee distance. Try to snag Shattered Souls by getting the killing blows on both the imps and mistress'.

You can Netherwalk the Chaotic Energy if a Fel Portal Guardian might not die in time, saving time from walking in to the Aegis of Aggramar.

MephistrothBoss Tips

Make sure to avoid the Fel Blaze that the Dreadwings spit on the floor throughout the fight - try to not be close to a window since it might be hard to dodge otherwise. Try to snag killing blows on the Shadow of Mephistroth adds in the Shadow Fade phase since they are demons. You can help your tank by soaking Shadow Blasts with either Blur or Netherwalk.

Patrol Captain Gerdo

You can help your tank out with the Duskwatch Sentrys by imprisoning them before entering combat so that your tank can taunt them while imprisoned, hence avoiding their Torch ability that deals massive damage.

Make sure to interrupt Guardian Constructs Charging Station cast.

Boss Tips

You can remove the Arcane Lockdown debuff by using Vengeful Retreat every time.

Talixae Flamewreath

The scariest mob leading up to this boss is the Watchful Inquisitor. Make sure to NEVER stun this mob since it will still cast Searing Glare while stunned and potentially one shot your group. You should however interrupt Searing Glare with Consume Magic.

When engaging a Felbound Enforcer make sure you have a nearby line of sight in order to avoid the Fel Detonation ability.

You can Blade Dance Imacu'tyas Whirling Blades.

Make sure you Blur or Netherwalk if targeted by Baalgar the Watchful's Disintegration Beam OR line of sight the initial cast.

Boss Tips

You can stun every, or every second imp pack that spawns during the encounter depending on Demonic Appetite/Overwhelming Power luck because of the cooldown reduction from Feast on the Souls.

Try to Nemesis one of the imps that spawn so that you will deal 25% more damage to all future imp spawns, they are demons - as well as the boss itself.

Make sure Eye Beam is ready for all imp spawns.

Try to snag killing blows on the imps for the Demon Soul benefit.

Advisor Melandrus

Demon Hunters can see the demon in disguise after all the clues have been clicked with Spectral Sight. Make sure you spread out your group to quickly press all the clues.

Boss Tips

Use Blur as often as possible during Slicing Maelstrom, and make sure his copies are in front of you since you can't dodge the Slicing Maelstrom ticks from behind.

You can also Blade Dance one or two ticks from Slicing Maelstrom, make sure they are in front of you once again.

Archdruid Glaidalis

Festerhide Grizzlys has a frontal cone that targets the tank, make sure you don't stand in it.

Boss Tips

Use Blur/Netherwalk or Vengeful Retreat as Nightmare Abominations spawn to avoid getting several ticks from the corruption. Stun the adds as often as possible.

Since Archdruid Glaidalis' hitbox is quite small, make sure you are standing max melee range when hitting the boss or you might get hit by his Primal Rampage ability that targets the tank and enemies in front of him.

OakheartBoss Tips

Make sure to avoid being in front of Oakheart since you might get hit by Nightmare Breath, a cone that targets the tank.

Stun any adds that spawn.

Dresaron

Make sure to move away once you kill any Hatespawn Slimes since they explode shortly after.

If your tank drags the Bloodtainted Furys to a corner make sure to stun them when they are at a round 5-10% hp and then Vengeful Retreat/Fel Rush out and avoid aggroing the lesser elementals that spawns upon the Bloodtainted Furys death.

Boss Tips

NEVER be in front of the boss, Breath of Corruption is a cone towards the tank and will most likely one shot you.

Fel Rush/Vengeful Retreat at the end of every Earthshaking Roar to avoid taking extra damage from Cave In.

If your tank pulls whelps with the boss to boost your groups single target damage make sure to stun them frequently for soul fragments from Overwhelming Power. You can also Nemesis one of the whelps if you want to amplify your damage against all whelps as well as the boss itself since they are all Dragonkins.

Shade of Xavius

Make sure you use Blur when targeted by either Nightmare Bolt or Feed on the Weak.

Try to save Netherwalk for Apocalyptic Nightmare which is casted once Shade of Xavius reaches 50% HP. You can also use Metamorphosis to avoid any ability on this fight.

If you run out of defensive cooldowns, you can outrange the boss (60 yards) which is not ideal but might be an option if you have no way to stay alive if targeted.

Warlord Parjesh

Make sure to interrupt Hatecoil Stormweavers' Arc Lightning cast OR make sure your group moves away from the targeted player.

Make sure to stun Hatecoil Wranglers' Lightning Prod cast. It will most likely one shot your whole group.

Boss Tips

He will cast Crashing Wave towards the tank, make sure to move 10~ yards away from the boss when its cast since the Crashing Wave tends to hit you even if you are behind him.

If no adds are alive to block the Impaling Spear you can use Blade dance at the end of his cast and soak the spear as well as dodge it.

Interrupt Hatecoil Shellbreakers Bellowing Roar as well as Hatecoil Creststriders Restoration.

Stun the adds as often as possible.

Lady Hatecoil

Hatecoil Arcanist has several abilities that can be interrupted but the only directly lethal one is Arcane Rebound hence it should be prioritized. If it's about to go through make sure to move away from the tank since your tank will not take fatal damage and it can't bounce to you unless you are close to the tank.

Boss Tips

Move to the tank when Lady Hatecoil casts Beckon Storm, it makes it easier for the tank to pick up the Saltsea Globules that spawns on players positions.

Stun the Saltsea Globules as often as possible for extra souls from Overwhelming Power.

Spread out for Focused Lightning since it deals increased damage if you are close to another player. Use Blur/Netherwalk as often as possible on Focused Lightning casts. You can also Metamorphosis if it lines up to avoid the damage completely.

You can soak the tornadoes and glide back down to help out with the space in the boss area.

Serpentrix

Make sure that you always stand at the sides of the Stormwake Hydras since they Tailswipe if they have any players behind them which will most likely kill you.

Make sure to never be in front of any Mak'rana Siltwalker since their Spray Sand most likely will kill you.

Try to avoid pulling any Seagulls since their Peck ability disorients the closest target (usually the tank) which causes the tank to drop threat during the disorient and the other mobs might kill you.

Boss Tips

You can stack all the Toxic Wound pools on top of each other without taking fatal damage, Blur or Netherwalk if you don't feel safe.

Make sure you stun and interrupt either the Blazing Hydra Spawn or the Arcane Hydra Spawn.

Make sure Eye Beam is ready when the Hydras spawn, you can also Nemesis them if it lines up since they are Beasts just like Serpentrix.

King DeepbeardBoss Tips

Make sure you don't stack on another player when Quake is being cast since it will deal increased damage and most likely kill you.

You should try to place all Quakes on the same spot as your previous Quake to create more space for the group.

Wrath of AzsharaBoss Tips

You can solo soak Crushing Depths if targeted by it with Netherwalk or by using Metamorphosis at the end of the cast.

Try to be somewhat behind/to the side of the boss since the Wrath of Azshara is one of the few bosses that is considered a ‘raid boss' and will parry if you are hitting from the front.

You can also soak Mystic Tornadoes with Netherwalk if your group is running out of space, you will still get knocked up in the air so make sure to time Glide just as you get knocked in order to cancel the knockup. (Recommended to save Netherwalk for Crushing Depths).

Hymdall

Make sure that you don't get caught in the Storm Drakes' Lightning Breath that is targeted towards the tank, it will most likely kill you.

If targeted by the Valarjar Thundercallers Thunderstrike, make sure that you move away from nearby party members to avoid stunning them.

Boss Tips

Make sure to use Blur or Netherwalk as often as possible when Horn of Valor is cast. Avoiding it with Metamorphosis is also possible.

Refrain from standing in front of the boss to not get hit by Bloodletting Sweep which is a cone targeted towards the tank.

Hyrja

Make sure to interrupt the Valarjar Purifiers' Cleansing Flames cast since it will most likely wipe your group.

The Valarjar Shieldmaidens have a frontal clone ability called Mortal Hew that has a bigger radius than you may think. It's targeted towards the tank and tends to hit you even if you are behind them unless you are hitting from maximum melee range - be careful!

Boss Tips

Make sure to use Blur or Netherwalk when targeted by either Expel Light or Arcing Bolt. Pay attention to how many stacks she has of either the Thunder or Light empowerment before deciding if you need to use a defensive cooldown and if so, which one. You can also avoid either mechanic by using Metamorphosis.

Arcing Bolt also bounces to nearby party members so make sure to run away from them if targeted or spread before she is about to cast Arcing Bolt.

Use Darkness during Eye of the Storm to help your healer out.

Dodge the bolts of lightning she spawns during Sanctify to avoid breaking other group members Prydaz shield.

Fenryr

Be careful of Valarjar Marksmans' Penetrating Shot which is targeted towards the tank and will most likely kill you if not avoided.

Upon entering Fenryr's area you can skip all the Bulls and Wolfs with the use of Imprison.

God-King Skovald

Pick up a Mug of Mead from one of the tables in the hallway before running up to the Kings in God-King Skovald's boss area.

Activate one of the Kings and then throw the Mug of Mead on another one while dragging the activated King on top of the one you threw the Mug of Mead on. Once the Mug of Mead fades from the second King, make sure to activate him. Once one of the Kings are defeated you can keep chaining the remaining two Kings.

Opera HallBoss TipsWikket

Interrupt Flashy Bolts that are targeted at random players.

Avoid Magic Magnificent by soaking a pool of Defy Gravity.

You can also Netherwalk it or avoid it with Metamorphosis if no Defy Gravity pools are present.

Westfall

The most dangerous part of the fight is the Gang Ruffian adds. Make sure you stun them and focus them down quickly, Toe Knee himself is not very dangerous in comparison. Preemptively use Blur when your stun is about to end since they will immediately target random players with Poisonous Shank.

Once Toe Knee reaches 50% health Mrrgria spawns as well as Shoreline Tidespeakers.

Make sure to stun the Tidespeakers as well as interrupt their Bubble Blast cast and avoid the bubbles if a cast goes through. Try to kill off all the Tidespeakers before bringing Mrrgria to 50% health since then Toe Knee will rejoin the battle together with Mrrgria. Toe Knee should be prioritized over Mrrgria.

Beautiful Beast

The most common and the safest order to kill them in is Mrs. Cauldrons > Luminore > Babblet.

Interrupt Soup Spray as often as possible.

Interrupt Heat Wave when cast.

Try to refrain from kiting Babblet through fire since it gives him a major speed boost.

Once all three are defeated Coggleston will spawn - interrupt Dinner Bell! and stun the Silver Fork adds that spawn as often as possible.

Maiden of Virtue

You will have several packs of Ghostly Understudys, make sure to not stun until they are outside of Spotlight and then stand inside the Spotlight while dealing damage.

Beneath the opera stage there will be mobs casting Firelands Portal, make sure to interrupt and stun the cast since it will most likely wipe you if left unchecked.

Once atop the stairs you will face Skeletal Ushers, turn away at the end of their Flashlight cast to avoid taking massive damage and becoming disoriented.

The hallway leading up to the Maiden of Virtue has Phantom Guardsmen in it that has a frontal cone Shield Slam that is aimed towards the tank. Make sure to avoid it.

Stun and interrupt the Wholesome Hostess' and Virtuous Ladys.

Boss Tips

Make sure to spread out to prevent Holy Bolt from bouncing to nearby party members.

If targeted by Sacred Ground position the pool close to a wall and make sure to dip inside just before the Mass Repentance cast finishes to break the repentance.

You can avoid dipping in to Sacred Ground by using Metamorphosis as the Mass Repentance cast ends.

Netherwalk does NOT work on Mass Repentance.

Make sure to have Eye Beam ready to invoke Metamorphosis to burst through the Holy Bulwark shield in order to interrupt the Holy Wrath cast that will wipe you if not prevented.

Moroes

Inside the Moroes boss area you will face several harmless guest packs as well as the Arcane Wardens. Avoid standing in the Arcane Wardens' Arcane Eruption since it deals major damage and will likely kill you.

Volatile Charge creates a circle around you that will detonate and deal damage to you as well as nearby party members. However, it deals minimal damage and should not be worried about. Focus on the Arcane Eruption pools on the floor instead!

Boss Tips

If targeted by Garrote you can avoid it by using Metamorphosis.

Netherwalk does NOT prevent the stack of Garrote on you but only the initial damage.

Interrupt Baroness Dorothea Millstipe's Mana Drain cast.

Interrupt Lady Catriona Von'Indi's Healing Stream cast.

Be careful of Baron Rafe Dreuger's Iron Whirlwind, the radius of the whirlwind is bigger than it seems.

Interrupt Lady Keira Berrybuck's Empowered Arms cast.

Make sure to move out of Lord Crispin Ference's Will Breaker cast. If unavoidable, make sure to use either Blur or Netherwalk.

Attumen the Huntsman

While making your way to Attumen you will face three different types of mobs.

Interrupt Spectral Chargers' Trampling Stomp and watch our for their charges.

Interrupt Spectral Stable Hands' Healing Touch.

Spectral Apprentices will place Burning Brands on random players, make sure that if targeted that you use Blur and avoid overlapping your Burning Brand circle with other players when it's about to expire.

Boss Tips

Check if you are the player with the ‘real' Intangible Presence debuff. It can be very hard to see the ghost when inside Metamorphosis.

Make sure you don't run ahead of the tank since you might be hit by Mounted Strike if the tank is not in melee range.

Line of sight or outrange the Mighty Stomps if possible.

Help your tank soak the Shared Suffering with Netherwalk.

Don't stand in the Mortal Strike targeted in a cone towards the tank.

The Curator

Be careful of the Damaged Golems channeled AoE, either outrange it or line of sight it.

Boss Tips

The most important thing on The Curator fight is to keep the Volatile Energys in check. Make the most out of your Demonic windows by focusing the Volatile Energys at any point you can, if they are inside Power Discharge puddles keep hitting the boss since Chaos Cleave will generally still hit the Volatile Energys.

Try to save Fury of the Illidari for Volatile Energys as well as the Evocation phase.

Be careful with Darkness usage since the Darkness AoE tends to cover the Power Discharge spawn locations.

Shade of MedivhBoss Tips

Make sure to interrupt Frostbite.

If targeted by Inferno Bolt, run close to a wall and Fel Rush sideways as the cast ends to avoid the ability.

Use Darkness in the Guardian's Image phase, the best time to use it is as the phase starts while your group are all stacked on the first Guardian Image that you decide to kill.

Ceaseless Winter is generally considered the easiest of Shade of Medivh's three phases, however it can be a nuisance for Havoc DHs. If you channel Eye Beam you will get a few stacks and it might end up killing you. Use Eye Beam at your own discretion during this phase.

If Flame Wreath is about to come up make sure to have Eye Beam ready to utilize the leech from your Demonic window, and then chain Blur as your Demonic window ends in order to help your healer out as much as possible. Netherwalk does NOT prevent damage from Flame Wreath.

Mana DevourerBoss Tips

Netherwalk does not prevent the application of the Unstable Mana debuff/stacks, if you have to soak get as many as possible in your Netherwalk window and then get combat resurrected.

Use Darkness at the edge of an Energy Void pool when your tank is dropping his Unstable Mana stacks.

Viz'aduum the Watcher

Mark one of the Knights during the Chess Event and Nemesis it, make sure your group focuses it so that you benefit from the Nemesis amplifier towards all the chess pieces.

Make sure you aren't in melee range of the King unless your tank is, since the King will otherwise melee swing you and likely kill you.

Boss Tips

Interrupt his Burning Blasts to prevent your tank from dying-

If you get targeted by his Fel Beam stand still until the beam appears on the floor and then kite it, if you move as it spawns you might run straight in to it. You may also Netherwalk as it spawns and stand still in order to create more space for your group.

As phase 2 starts you should try to rush up to him as quickly as possible utilizing your Fel Rush/Netherwalk/Blur in order to bait his Disintegrate towards a side - making it easier for your group to reach him.

As phase 3 starts be careful to not run behind/stack on another player since the Fel Flame Spitters will shoot Shadow Phlegm towards you and the travel time of their Shadow Phlegm often makes the ability hit a few yards behind the targeted player.

Don't stack on another player once you reach the boss to avoid getting hit by several Shadow Phlegms at the same time.

Make sure to not be in front of the Felguard Sentrys, they have a cleave ability towards the tank that stacks up a DoT as well as a slow.

You can avoid the application of Chaotic Shadows by using Metamorphosis but it's extremely hard to time it correctly and generally not worth saving your Metamorphosis for.

Ymiron, the Fallen King

Move out of the Seacursed Slavers' Swirling Muck.

If you get targeted by the Seacursed Slavers' Barbed Spear, make sure to Vengeful Retreat to remove the debuff and avoid getting hooked in to the cleave.

Watch out for their Fracture frontal cone ability.

Watch out for the Enslaved Shieldmaidens' frontal cone Hew Soul.

Seacursed Soulkeepers have two abilities and both are fatal. If targeted by Brackwater Blast make sure to use Blur or Netherwalk and avoid hitting other members of your group with the ability.

They also channel Defiant Strike in a direction which is generally quite easy to dodge however at the end of Defiant Strike they slam the ground which is the deadly part of the ability. The rule is to not be anywhere close to them as Defiant Strike ends.

Interrupt Runecarver Slaves' Fire Blast.

Boss Tips

Make sure to move close to the tank as Ymiron casts Arise, Fallen, causing the adds to spawn more centered and generally making it easier for your tank to pick them up.

Make sure to have Eye Beam ready for Arise, Fallen so that you can spam Eye Beam in order to quickly nuke the adds down. They are not stunable or slowable and hit your tank harder and harder the longer they stay up.

Make sure to have Fury of the Illidari ready for Arise, Fallen to nuke them down even faster.

Use Darkness on your tank when the adds are up.

Harbaron

The inside of the ship has terrible camera angles and is considered the most annoying part for any melee player.

Watch out for the Seacursed Swiftblades' Deceptive Strike, it will most likely one shot you.

The Waterlogged Soul Guards target random players with Six Pound Barrel. It's not as dangerous as the Deceptive Strikes but should be avoided. You will however most likely live it even without Blur.

It's common to skip the Night Watch Mariner but if you decide to engage him make sure to have Eye Beam ready for his Lantern of Darkness to help your healer out with the leech provided from the Demonic window.

Use Darkness during the Lantern of Darkness as well as personal cooldowns if necessary.

Interrupt the Bone Chilling Scream from the Helarjar Champions, if no interrupts are ready you can outrange it.

Boss Tips

Make sure to have Eye Beam and Fury of the Illidari ready for his Fragment ability.

Make sure to stun the adds spawned from the Fragment ability to make it easier for your group to nuke them down.

If targeted by Fragment you can avoid the damage/adds from spawning by using Metamorphosis at the end of the cast.

Interrupt the Shackled Servitors cast and try to nuke it down as quickly as possible, saving Eye Beam and Fury of the Illidari for Fragment is still more important than the Shackled Servitors.

Cosmic Scythe is targeted towards a random player, usually the easiest way for a melee class to dodge it is to be close to him and run through Harbaron if the Cosmic Scythe is casted towards you.

Nether Rips will likely one shot you unless you move out when they are about spawn however once they have spawned their damage is heavily reduced and Fel Rushing through them should not be fatal.

Helya

The top of the ship has a combination of annoying trash mobs to deal with but the most important things are to interrupt the Helarjar Champions Bone Chilling Scream as well as the Whirlpool of Souls casted by the Helarjar Mistcaller.

When fighting Skjal be careful of his Give No Quarter, Fel Rushing or Vengeful Retreating away from the targeted position should keep you safe.

Stun his adds if they cast Necrotic Barrage.

Boss Tips

Position yourself so that you can hit all three tentacles with Eye Beam. This is done by standing at either the left or the right side tentacle while Eye Beaming towards the middle tentacle. Place your Fury of the Illidari as close to the middle tentacle as possible to hit all three.

Nemesis the Destructor Tentacle and nuke it down as fast as possible.

Preemptively using Blur or Netherwalk as a new Destructor Tentacle is about to spawn is a good habit since they tend to hit whichever player is closest to their spawn point.

Rokmora

Leading up to Rokmora there are two mobs that you have to watch out for.

Vileshard Hulk has two frontal cone abilities that will likely one shot you. Piercing Shards has a decently long cast time and should be stunned since it's uninterruptible. They also occasionally cleave in a frontal cone so make sure to remain behind them since their hitbox is quite big.

The second mob to watch out for is the Vileshard Chunk, it uses the ability Crush which has a 2.6 second cast time and then damages anyone nearby. Make sure to run out of the Crush AoE.

Boss Tips

Make sure to not be in front of Rokmora as Razor Shards is being cast.

Try to hit the Blightshard Skitterers as much as possibly, be aware of their annoying Choking Dust pool that spawns upon killed.

Ularogg Cragshaper

It's common that groups pull everything in the river area and kite the mobs.

If your group does a big pull and your Nemesis is ready there's a few fishes in the water as you come down the waterfall after defeating Rokmora. These fishes are classified as Humanoid and have a very low HP pool. If it lines up, Nemesis one of the fish and kill it off just as your tank pull so that you can benefit from Nemesis against all the mobs.

Move whenever Avalanche is cast and make sure to not move in to another players position.

Interrupt the Blightshard Shapers' Stone Bolt casts.

Boss Tips

You can double jump the Strike of the Mountain hands if timed correctly, however I advise to simply run out of them like everyone else.

Make sure to have Eye Beam and Fury of the Illidari ready for his Stance of the Mountain phase in order to nuke down the Bellowing Idol quickly.

Use Blur as well as Darkness in this phase so that you can stay in and nuke the Idol.

Naraxas

Watch out for the Stoneclaw Grubmasters' Stone Shatter. It's targeted on the tanks position and an area around him. I advise to run out of melee range when it's being cast to avoid dying.

Stun the Tarspitter Grubs spawned by the Stoneclaw Grubmasters to stop them for metamorphing. You can also use your Frag Belt for this if you are an engineer.

Boss Tips

Toxic Retch is the ability you have to watch out for here. It always puts a DoT on you but also spawns several pools that hit hard. The safest way to deal with it is to simply run out of melee range when it's being cast since it's only targeted close to Naraxas.

Help your range kill off the Wormspeaker Devouts if necessary.

Dargrul

The Emberhusk Dominators are infamous for wiping groups on fortified weeks.

The rider of the Emberhusk Dominator is the scary one, it targets the three players furthest away.

As a DH you should be max melee range since you want to use all your CDs to nuke it down meaning that you will outheal the damage with your Leech as well as by using Blur/Darkness.

Make sure to stun or frag belt the Frenzy cast.

Boss Tips

Make sure to have Fury of the Illidari and Eye Beam ready for the Molten Charskin.

Make sure to not spawn the Crystal Spikes under an already stunned Molten Charskin.

Landslide is always targeted towards the tank so make sure you keep track off where your tank is positioned.

General Xakal

It's common that groups skip all the oozes in the start since they are annoying to deal with on most affixes. If your group decides to kill them make sure to stun their Ooze Explosion cast or outrange it if no stuns are available.

Dreadborne Seers are the most dangerous mobs in The Arcway. All of its abilities should be line of sighted. If lining is not possible make sure to use Blur or Netherwalk when Prophecies of Doom is cast and if an Eye of the Beast is spawned close to you make sure to move away from it since it targets the closest player (which should be the tank).

Wrathguard Felblades are scary because of their debuff they place on random players. They should be stunned and nuked down at all times.

Eredar Chaosbringers has a plethora of spells available to them. Demonic Ascension and Portal: Argus are the top priorities to interrupt.

Felguard Destroyers and Forgotten Spirits should be avoided as much as possible. You do not want to deal with either one.

Boss Tips

Wicked Slam is the most dangerous ability from Xakal, however as a DH you can simply Blade Dance at the end of the Wicked Slam cast and you will dodge the ability completely.

Make sure to snag killing blows on the Dread Felbats for demon souls.

Nal'tira

Your group should stack up while fighting the Vicious Manafang packs and make sure to stun/frag belt their Devour casts as frequently as possible.

Boss Tips

Blink Strikes can be very annoying to deal with if you don't know how the ability works. The first part of it will always target a range player and the second one a melee player.

At the end of the first part of Blink Strikes you should run towards Nal'tira to avoid getting a tick from Blink Strikes - I still recommend using Blur or Netherwalk as often as possible since the ability is very unreliable.

As Tangled Web is about to be cast run out to an empty corner of the room and use Vengeful Retreat just after the cast finishes - you will instantly break it and prevent more than 1 tick from happening.

Stun the Vicious Manafang as they cast Devour and kill them off quickly.

Corstilax

You will face a bunch of Withered Fiends and Withered Manawraiths on your way to Corstilax. Interrupt all of their casts as often as possible. Watch out for the Collapsing Rifts - a pool on the ground that can be lethal. It's generally targeted on the tank and it does not have a cast time.

Inside Corstilax's room the most important thing to watch out for is the Nightborne Reclaimers Eye of the Vortex cast. It should be interrupted at all times.

Utilize the Celerity Zones as much as possible and ideally avoid stunning until one has spawned.

Boss Tips

Make sure to run on top of the tank when Quarantine is being cast so he can break you out quickly.

If targeted by Suppression Protocol I advise to run in a circle around the boss and inform your tank/other melee party members to run with you.

Preemptively move when Corstilax casts Destabilized Orb to avoid taking damage from it.

Make sure to have a charge of Fel Rush or Vengeful Retreat ready for Cleansing Force.

Ivanyr

You will face a bunch of Warp Shades and Arcane Anomalys as you make your way to Ivanyr.

Interrupt the Warp Shades Phase Breach as well as Arcane Reconstitution.

Interrupt the Arcane Anomalys Arcane Reconstitution and avoid the Astral Sparks' pulsing AoE. Ideally your tank kites the sparks once they spawn so your range players can take care off them and you can keep hitting the Arcane Anomalys.

Boss Tips

Make sure to interrupt Overcharge Mana as quickly as possible. If Ivanyr is tanked a few yards away from where he teleports when casting Overcharge Mana you can turn your back to him and spam your interrupt button in order to instantaneously interrupt him once he teleports.

Save Fel Rush charges for when you get targeted by Nether Link and try to Fel Rush in between the other two players targeted by Nether Link in order to conserve space for your group.

Make sure to not hit other party members if targeted by Volatile Magic.

Advisor Vandros

Interrupt his Accelerating Blast as often as possible to prevent his stacks from snowballing.

Stack up when Force Bomb is being cast to make it easier to run through the Force Nova once they explode. Ideally you save Fel Rush charges for the Force Nova to take minimal damage.

Make sure to keep moving with the tank whenever the Chrono Shards are about to explode.

In his intermission phase as a melee you want to avoid the Timeless Wraiths' pulsing AoE if possible and let your range DPS take care of them. If you have to help out make sure to use Blur and Eye Beam to leech in your Demonic window. Interrupt their Time Lock as well!

You can avoid Unstable Mana by using Metamorphosis at the end of his cast.

Zuraal the Ascended

For the first part of Seat of the Triumvirate you should be playing Chaos Blades instead of Demonic since Chaos Blades shines on the first trash pull as well as the amplified damage window on the first boss. Once the trash and Zuraal have been cleared you should run out and spec back in to Demonic.

It's common that groups pull all the trash mobs in Zuraals boss area and use Bloodlust to nuke them down. You should ideally pre-nemesis before starting the key by bringing a mob to low HP and then Nemesis > kill it off > start the key since every mob in the room besides the oozes are Humanoids.

Boss Tips

Be aware of his Null Palm, targeted on a random players in a cone towards him.

Stun the Void Sludge adds if they close in on Zuraal.

If you get sent down to the Void Realm make sure to have Blur, Netherwalk, Fury of the Illidari and Eye Beam ready. My prefered way of quickly getting out of there is to Blur and group all the mobs up, once grouped stun them all and use Eye Beam > Fury of the Illidari and then Netherwalk in order to avoid dying from the explosions upon the Dark Aberrations death.

Once you stun Zuraal with Void Tear use all your CDs as well as Potion of the Old War instead of Potion of Prolonged Power. This is where Chaos blades shines compared to Demonic.

Saprish

You have to defeat three Void Wardens that come out of the Void Tears in order to spawn Saprish. They always spawn in the same order. The first one spawns right below Zuraals area as you jump down. The second one is on the far right of the first Void Tear, and the third one spawns in the northeast. All together they spawn in a triangle essentially.

Interrupt the Rift Wardens Stygian Blast.

When the Void Discharges die they explode after a brief period, make sure you move out in time.

There will be several Shadowguard Tricksters throughout the instance from here on. DHs shines on finding these with the use of Spectral Sight. The four Shadowguard Tricksters that you almost always pull are at somewhat set positions. The first one is in the area around the first Void Warden/Void Tear. The second one is in the area around the third Void Warden/Void Tear. The third one is in Saprish's area. The fourth one is in Viceroy Nezhar's area. Make sure to use Spectral Sight before your group runs in and pulls them out of stealth.

Shadowguard Riftstalkers spawns mines on the ground that activate after a brief period, make sure you keep track of where the mines spawn and avoid them.

Shadowguard Champions uses the ability Ruinous Strike which is a cone towards the tank that stuns you and deals heavy damage.

Boss Tips

Your group should aim to be as stacked as possible in order to maximise cleave damage and keep moving behind Darkfang when he uses Ravaging Darkness.

Avoid his Void Traps that spawns throughout the fight, they will stun you and deal high damage.

Make sure to interrupt Shadewing's Dread Screech. If left unchecked your group will get disoriented and take heavy damage most likely leading to a wipe.

Viceroy Nezhar

All the trash except the oozes are linked with Viceroy and will aggro if not killed before engaging him.

Void Flayers should always be the priority target if they are in a pack.

Shadowguard Conjurers cast Umbral Bolt which is extremely deadly and should be interrupted at all costs.

The patrolling Grand Shadow-Weaver is the most dangerous mob in this area and his Dark Splice should always be interrupted. Make sure to save Fury of the Illidari and Eye Beam for when he spawns Dark Matter which has to be quickly nuked down in order to avoid a full wipe.

Boss Tips

Dark Blast should only be interrupted when you want to move the boss on top of the Void Flayers.

Stun the Umbral Tentacles and interrupt them if you have interrupts to spare.Try to have Eye Beam ready for when the Void Flayers spawn.

Interrupt his Howling Dark cast, ideally you assign someone to always interrupt this cast and nothing else.

Stack under Viceroy when he casts Entropic Force and use Darkness as often as possible at the start of his Entropic Force channel.

When Viceroy reaches 100 Insanity he spawns two Shadowguard Voidtenders that makes him immune to all damage and uninterruptible. Make sure to always have Eye Beam and Fury of the Illidari ready for these adds since they have to be nuked down quickly in order to interrupt the Eternal Twilight cast that will kill everyone in the group and wipe you.

L'uraBoss Tips

You can easily soak the Greater Rift Wardens Fragment of Despair with the use of Blur or Netherwalk.

Make sure to have Eye Beam and ideally Fury of the Illidari ready for her amplified damage taken window.

Tirathon Saltheril

Leading up to Tirathon you will face a bunch of different mobs with somewhat dangerous abilities.

Interrupt the Felsworn Infesters Corrupt as well as Nightmares.

Make sure to never be in front of the Immoliant Furys since they constantly cleave.

Fel-Infused Fury is the most dangerous mob before facing Tirathon. Stun their Fel Gaze as soon as they start channeling it and interrupt their Unleash Fury cast.

Felsworn Myrmidon cast a frontal cone towards the tank called Deafening Screech. Make sure to avoid it.

Boss Tips

Try to position yourself so that you don't have a range player between you and Tirathon to avoid getting hit by Swoop.

Interrupt his Furious Blast.

Stun the adds the spawn throughout the fight and interrupt them. Try to save Fury of the Illidari for when adds spawn.

During his Havoc form he will cast Hatred close to a random player, be aware of which direction the Hatred beam is going since it will likely one shot you.

Inquisitor Tormentorum

The tank should pull one side of imps while you use Blur and or Netherwalk to pull the other side of imps leading up to the Foul Mother.

Boss Tips

I recommend using either Vengeful Retreat, Imprison, Throw Glaive or Spectral Sight to get rid of the Sap Soul debuff.

Cellblock 3-3x468

Stun all of the adds as soon as they are stacked.

The Felguard Annihilator resets his threat once he uses Intercept so be ready to press Blur if you get aggro.

Interrupt Seed of Corruption casted by the Shadowmoon Warlock.

Cellblock 3-0x68-1x0

Stun all of the adds as soon as they are stacked.

Interrupt the Void-Touched Juggernauts' Frightening Shout.

Be aware of the Shadow Crash casted by the Faceless Voidcaster and avoid standing in it.

Ash'Golm

Blade Dancer Illianna is the most common route you take towards Glazer and Ash'Golm. Make sure to kill off the Felblaze Scorchers one by one to avoid having them explode simultaneously.

Boss Tips

Make sure to have Eye Beam and Fury of the Illidari ready for when he's stunned by Brittle.

Kill of the Ember adds accordingly.

Make sure to use Blur or Netherwalk if an Ember is detonating.

Netherwalk does NOT prevent the application of the Lava debuff.

GlazerBoss Tips

Try to remain close or even under Glazer as often as possible to make it easier to dodge the plethora of pulse orbs flying around the room.

Try to bait the Lingering Gaze outside of Glazer so you can remain under him.

Make sure to have Eye Beam & Fury of the Illidari ready after the intermission to burst him. Potion of Old War should be used over Potion of Prolonged Power in the damage taken amplification window.

Cordana Felsong

Grimhorn the Enslaver should always be skipped, usually by the tank or another player pulling him to the side while the remainder of the group runs past and then resses the last player past Grimhorn.

Make sure to stun the spider packs as they are about to spread out.

It's common that groups only kill one pack of spiders and then use Skaggldrynk or Draenic Invisibility Potion in combination with an Avalanche Elixir to avoid fall damage to skip the majority of the trash leading up to Cordana.

Be aware when the Spirit of Vengeance knocks the tank away since it will melee hit you if the tank is not in range. Stun it or run out of melee range if this happens.

Boss Tips

Stay close to Cordana Felsong at all times to avoid getting hit by the Detonating Moonglaive since it will not trigger if you are close to her as it flies out however be aware as it bounces back to her since it will then hit you if not careful.

Stun the Avatar of Shadows, it spawns when you take Cordana Felsong down to 75% HP.

At 40% she casts Creeping Doom, besides using the light to see the gaps in the walls you can also use Spectral Sight in order to guide your group through the phase.

The Avatar of Vengeance will spawn shortly after her Creeping Doom phase ends. Make sure to stun it as well and ideally have Eye Beam as well as Fury of the Illidari ready to burst the Avatars down.
