Another cloak you could use, instead of the legendary cape, is Hydra-Scale Bloodcloak With 1x Rigid River's Heart.

I've been working on a Guide on custom tooltips (still draft). Here are some ideas you might like:

You can customize the tooltip for each piece of gear to show your gem choices. But you'll probably still want to describe the gems the way you do now. To see how it works copy the following code into the bottom of your Edit screen below your guide:

The method is from SquireKel's Guide Writing for Dummies. See the tooltip section.

I'd also suggest using a few screenshots.
Example: Ghost Iron Dragonling \ by tmptfate. That gives you the small image.

For a larger screenshot use "Upload an image" and resize it:

Open a screenshot, then click to open the Original. Right click on the original image and select "Inspect element" or else "Properties". The width and height are given in pixels (record info). Copy the URL for the original screenshot which ends in ".jpg". Go to the Edit page & click "Upload an image". A window opens in your C: drive. Paste the URL into the box at the bottom of the screen that says "File Name" & select "Pictures" as the file type. Click "Open". In the Edit page you should get a tag that starts \. Copy it into your guide and add the width and height in pixels. Example:

If the image is too big, multiply the width and height by the same percentage: Example 75%=0.75. Width=(469 x 0.75)=352. Height=(539 x 0.75)=404.

You won't see the image until you fill in the upload number ####.
