Macros & Addons
This will allow stop an inprogress Bladestorm and attempt to use Charge, useful for getting back on the main target if a group of adds die before Bladestorm is done channeling. Can also be used with any other ability, or alone.
All offensive Cooldowns macro
This uses all offensive cooldowns and the top trinket slot, if able, at the same time rather than having to press them all individually.
#showtooltip Battle Cry
/use Battle Cry
/use Blood Fury
How to Make a Macro
To open up the Macro menu, type "/macro" or "/m".
Choose between the "General" and Character-specific macro tabs. Then click on the "New" button on the macro window.
Choose a Name and an Icon so you can easily recognize your macro, then click on "Okay."
Select your macro's icon from the list at the top of the macro window, and then click in the text area below. Type or copy/paste your macro into the text area.
When you are finished, click the "Save" button, and to close the window, click "Exit".
There are many out there but I find these most useful:
Weak Auras: This addon in my opinion is virtually required for every scenario of a player who is looking to improve. The uses are almost infinite in possibility and really helps you to improve in your gameplay.
Big Wigs or Deadly Boss Mobs: This addon is also required for many reasons. They allow you to predict when certain deadly abilities or weaknesses that will happen in boss encounters giving you the ability to prepare ahead of time for your course of action.
Omen: This addon is kind of old school by today's standards, but I find it useful in progression raiding environments. A good example of why it is useful is because if you are really close to a kill and start to wipe, you know who the boss is going to hit next and you can help to call out who will get hit next so they can pop a cooldown and hopefully extend the encounter long enough in order to kill the boss.
TidyPlates: This addon replaces the blizzard nameplates. I find TidyPlates to be perfect for a raider or dungeon player. The configuration flexibility and the overall look and feel of the addon is great.
Elvui: This is a good addon for me as well. I feel that organizing your UI in a way that not only is clean and tidy, but organized in such a way to get all the information you need to you faster rather than having to move your eyes 6-7 times vs only 2-3 can make a huge difference.
WeakAuras on Wowhead
WeakAuras is a handy addon that flashes a useful alert onto your screen related to important abilities--cooldowns, durations, etc. However, it can be tricky to configure especially if you're new to it, so we've set up basic Weak Aura customizations for every player spell, including intelligent default auras.
Just visit a spell page (
) and click on the red "WeakAuras Export" button to open the panel up. Click "Copy" for our default aura, or "Customize" to easily change your alerts!
