You should play a Mage if:
You enjoy having portals to major locations in the game.
You enjoy having different options on how to deal damage.
You enjoy bringing utility to your group.
You don't mind having eventually to switch specs depending on the fight.
Every race except for Tauren and Highmountain Tauren can play a Mage.
Mages can use daggers, one-handed swords, staves, and wands.
Iconic Frost Mage abilities:
Summon Water Elemental
Fingers of Frost
: When you damage enemies with Frostbolt, 18.0% of the damage done is stored as an Icicle for 1 min. Also increases the damage done by your Water Elemental by 18.0%. Casting Ice Lance causes any Icicles stored to begin launching at the target. Up to 5 Icicles can be stored. Excess Icicles will automatically be launched.

Frost mages are masters of the element of frost. Able to freeze their enemies in place and shatter them with powerful ice abilities.

Frost mages arent that well off in terms of AoE. However they have decent cleave damage.
