Sometimes, this error will show up due to a browser issue, so you may find switching to a different web browser (I personally recommend Firefox, but you can use IE if you aren't already) or clearing the cookies and cache from your current web browser may resolve your issue. Then, you'll want to try the upgrade again.
If, after attempting that troubleshooter, the issue still persists, DO
NOT
ATTEMPT THE TRANSACTION, otherwise you will rack up multiple pending charges and your CC company may suspect those charges are being made fraudulently. Instead, you should contact the number listed on the error message so a phone representative can help you further. When you contact the Billing Department, make sure you specify that you attempted clearing your web browser's cookies and cache to no avail.
Edit: Since you're attempting to upgrade your trial account, you can also go out to a retail store and purchase a boxed copy of the classic version of World of Warcraft and entering the authentication key within the box at your account's account management page if you'd rather not call Billing. You can also purchase a boxed copy via the Blizzard Store. Of course, if purchasing a boxed copy of the game is not an option, calling the Billing Department pretty much is your only one then.
