Arms rotation for PvP and PVE
Return to board index
Can some one tell me what my rotation should be for arms in Pvp and Pve? I just respeced from prot and haven't play as arms since lvl 30.
Make sure to check the stickies at the top as they have a large amount of great information. PvP can't be broken down into a rotation, per say. Play style totally depends on the situation, whether it's Arena (and dependent on team setup and vs what team) or BGs or World PvP. However, there are certain things you want to make sure happen.
Hamstring, hamstring, hamstring... this will be your job in Arena :P But seriously, Hamstring is top priority (in conjunction with Piercing Howl) as your class is the most easily kited. Warriors are also in great demand for their MS effect, not only does it tax their healers, but it constitutes massive burst dmg. With the buffs to Rend (Taste for Blood, Trauma, Blood Frenzy, and Rend itself doing 35% more dmg to targets with 75% health or more) it has become a large part of Arms warriors damage. Rend is also great to prevent the use of first aid or restealthing (along with deep wounds). Bladestorm is massive burst and CC immunity (also breaks snares when used).
As far as PvE dps/rotations are concerned this is a general guideline:
* Rend, refresh as top priority
* Execute on Sudden Death procs regardless of rage (might change with upcoming nerf)
* Overpower when it procs
* Bladestorm on every time (try to time with trinket)
* Slam to burn excess rage when all else is on CD
* Heroic strike with full rage bar and everything else on CD
* Keep Sunders up (if no warrior tank)
On the rotation it says that sunders should always be stacked if you are a dps warrior. I'm a healer and have noticed that warriors are always pulling aggro even when they are at the bottom of recount. When raiding, that could cause a problem when a boss hits a warrior without defense gear. Is sunder really that important?
