Which professions for human priest
Return to board index
Well.. I am starting a priest up..
So i was wondering, which professions that would be good for a priest.
I was thinking of mining 2 earn a lot of money and then tailoring but if you can tell me something better, that would be nice.
I have Herbs and Alchemy. Seems to be working well for me at the moment. Making mana pots, intel increase, health pots... what could be wrong really?
I only chose these cause I solo a lot and don't seem to find any good sharing guilds. So making my own = win. Just choose what would benefit you straight away.. can always respec later when you reach 70 or so. If you have an alt supporting you then who cares really aye? Just choose something fun and exciting.
not only herbalism and alchemy
there are lots
-inscription and herbalism (create scrolls for intellect and great glyphs which can change some of your spells)
-tailoring and enchanting (create epic armor and do upgrades for your legs)
-mining and jewelcrafting(create epic jewels - rings,necks,trinkets and some heads)
Don't forget about racials like
BF + 10 enchanting
Draenai + 5 jewelcrafting
hope it helped
you choose the professions,there aren't 2 professions best
each one is good but it depends onwhat u want
but once you learned a profession you should continue it til youre a grand master (450 in wolk :) )
In my post about BOP benefits from professions (in my signature) there is this comparison of stats for casters.
Caster DPS / Healing:
Herbalism = 33.3SP (average, requires consumables)
Skinning = 25 Crit rating
Alchemy = 37 SP (Flask of the Frost Wyrm) OR 13 MP5 (Flask of Pure Mojo)
Enchanting = 38 SP
Jewelcrafting = 27 SP or 21 Crit Rating or 21 Haste Rating or 21 Hit Rating or 9 MP5
Blacksmithing = 46 SP or 20 Crit Rating or 20 Haste Rating or 20 Hit Rating or 16 MP5
Leatherworking = 37 SP
Inscription = 36 SP
Tailoring = ~24dps from Lightweave Embroidery, ~16mp5 from Darkglow Embroidery
Engineering = variable based on value of crafted helm and hand enchants, gadgets are priceless (like a mother's love, not the good kind)
Enchanting would be a very good option right now, and you can pair it up with mining if you want to earn a bit of money on the side (titansteel cooldowns can be very powerful soon)
The problem with enchanting is that it's insanely expensive, if he's looking to make money I wouldn't recommend it when he's starting out. I would say Alchemy is probably the least expensive non-gathering profession and as you pointed out it has some very nice benefits for casters, as well as every other class in the game.
if i were to start my priest over i would do herb alc in a heartbeat easy money on ah selling consumables to people who raid, free consumables for yourself and fairly cheap to level it up unless you buy all your mats, i went with tailoring enchanting instead and its a money sink, the most money i get out of it it sharding things and selling the mats.
