Feral Heirloom weapon?
Return to board index
Ok, so I read in the feral megathreads on elitistjerks that:
Do proc-enchants (like Mongoose) work in forms?
As of 3.0.2, these enchants (finally) work in all feral forms.
So I'm thinking I want to use my main to earn an heirloom weapon, slap crusader on it, and then roll a druid alt, using the heirloom weapon to facemelt my way through the levels.
But none of the druid-equippable items seem to be particularly well-itemized for (my understanding of) ferals.
Which heirloom weapon should I pick? only 2 of those are even non-caster weapons, although I'm not sure how much it matters?
(This is for a planned bear who will be leveling with my girlfriend's mage via swipe spam to hold AoE threat while she burns down many mobs at once)
Help is appreciated!
none of those is really good for a feral druid. You generally want 2 handed weapons as they generally have better stats. Once 58 comes, all of your weapons will have feral ap and these have non. You would be better off getting the shoulders to get the extra 10% xp
Ok, but while leveling, would one of those with Crusader be better or worse than the quest greens I'd have while leveling? I'm not enchanting Greens with crusader, i'm not making a twink >_>
the dagger for dps with crusader would probably be better than a lot of things you pick up. IMO though; you would still be better off with something that gave more xp. Once you have cat form, there is almost no downtime. Every once and a while you do have to heal but that takes about 3 seconds and then you shift t cat and let hots heal you while you are killing more. If you are dedicated, it only takes a month to get to 70 because of cat form. When you are fighting 1 mob the mob is dead before the stealth cd wears off.
I'd go with what Anile said, go for the Shoulders and have a ball. A month to 70? Not likely i played a couple hours a day for 2 weeks and hit 70 at 9 days played. If you have experience in Outland it will not take you any time at all to smash through quests not to mention XP needed was nerfed for 1-60 as well as 60-70.
9 days played = 216 hours, this would mean that you wouold have had to play 15 hours a day. It took me just over a month to ding 70 and I finished with 6.5 days played before the xp nerf from 61-70. Granted; I do have a full time job and gf that does not play WoW. I am sure it can be done faster.
Either way I'd be getting the shoulders, that's a non-issue.
I work full-time, I basically wind up playing 8 hours saturday/sunday, 5 hours on friday and maybe 3 hours the rest of the week unless it's raid night (which means I'm a zombie in the morning, and I wouldn't be playing this alt anyway).
What are some cheap enchants I can put on leveling weapons that benefit ferals, then?
Not just the shoulders, but perhaps the trinket as well. As for enchants, Id probably say crusader would be your best bet, since heirlooms can only be enchanted with pre-bc enchants.
The question is : is blizzard planning on giving a feral heirloom weapon in the near future? Something like a 2h mace, a Staff or whatnot? Currently I am leveling my second druid and i level it moonkin because of the better heirloom itemization. I might just switch when i get higher level since i already have Leather heirloom for my alt rogue. The only problem would be to look for a new weapon everytime one gets old.
There hasn't been any word on that, though they have said (ambiguously, as per usual) that they intend to expand the heirlooms in the future.
