Blacksmithing mail armor

I have not found any patterns for mail armor for my Blacksmith, a shaman. Are there going to be any, haven't seen any on wowhead or anywere else. Did I waste a lot of time and energy leveling it?

Umm Yes most mail armor made past level 40 comes from leatherworking

Ya, I know that. But some of the high end stuff for the armor specialist in BC was mail BOP for lvl 70. That is why I went BS instead of leather working, also getting the ability to make weapons. So am I just out being able to make any armor for me up to lvl 80?
