Spell Casting Macros

I want to cast 2 spells with 1 button,
depending on what spell is available to cast,
I want one to have a higher priority over the over,
I also want to be able to see the cooldown showing it as available when either of the 2 spells is castable.
Is this wishful thinking?
I was thinking:
/castsequence spell1,spell2
If I cast spell1 & spell2 is still on cooldown will this just cast spell1 again? Am I going about the completely wrong way of doing this?
Your help is most appreciated.

This doesn't answer your question much, but still, you might find it helpful.
Your casting 2 spells with 1 button - so 1 macro containing 2 spells.
What i find useful in situation where u need to alternate between a few specific spells, is to use a
modifier macro.
Lets say, for example, that the two spells that you are alternating between are
Shadowbolt
and
Curse of Elements
. And you want
Shadowbolt
to have priority over
Curse of Elements.
So now to what
modifier
to use. The only modifier keys that the game recognises are
ctrl
,
alt
and
shift
. Depeding on what is more convenient, you choose the appropriate modifer key.
So,
/cast Curse of Elements; Shadowbolt
The above only macro casts
Curse of Elements
when either ctrl, alt or shift are held down and you press the macro.
However, this can be changed so that it only casts Curse of Elements when (for example) ctrl is held down.
/cast Curse of Elements; Shadowbolt
shift or alt can also be substituted instead of the ctrl depending on what is most convenient for you.

I am using a Logitech G15 keyboard and while I was using macros it made wow so meaningless. I had one button mob killing macros. Cause with that keyboard you can record all you spell casting action with lags etc.
For instance, I start the recording the macro then press the spells. I use spell1 then wait one second for global cd then use spell2 wait a second for global cd then use spell1 etc.. i record every move i make. But trust me it gets playing so boring:)
The only difference a bot and me was I was finding my mobs selecting them, rest is the same. With one button click G15 kills the mob:S
but you should keep this in mind, with WoW macros you can not add a period to complete the global cooldown:)
this may seem irrelevant with the question but castsequence command always reminded me to cast my spell in a sequence:) so wanted to share this too ^^

And if Blizzard happens to notice that every time you cast, all the actions happen at exactly the same time in the sequence without any deviation, you can get banned for automating the game whether you're there or not.

The script commands that cast spells are protected and cannot be executed by user code anymore.

The thing is, it doesn't happen. Even with a perfectly stable connection packet travel times will not be constant. Not to mention input lag, slow UI responce from WoW, load on the server's event queue, priority given to your actions.
If they started judging by approximation, poor little Johny who's very good at rhytms could be banned for automating.
That said, there are other ways to deal with such nuisances, so no one breaking the rules is safe.
