Herbalism In LegionDreamleaf

The Level 3 perk is Dreamleaf: Standing near a dreamleaf will grant you a powerful buff.

The Dreamleaf questline takes place in Val'sharah. Rank 1: Dreamleaf Sample, An Empathetic Herb. Rank 2: Twisted to Death, One Dead Plant is One Too Many. Rank 3: Choked by Nightmare, The Last Straw

Aethril

The Level 3 perk is Aethril: Gathering herbs in the Broken Isles may cause additional herbs to appear.

Most of the questline takes place in Azuna. Rank 1: Aethril Sample, Spayed by the Spade. Rank 2: Ragged Strips of Silk, Desperation Breeds Ingenuity. Rank 3 unknown.

Starlight RoseStarlight Rosedust

The Level 3 perk is Starlight Rose: Attempting to gather a starlight rose will always succeed.

The Starlight questline takes place in Suramar: Rank 2: Jeweled Spade Handle, The Spade's Blade. Rank 3 unknown.

Foxflower

The Level 3 perk is Foxflower: Gathering foxflower will summon friendly foxes to fight alongside you.

The Foxflower questline takes place in Highmountain. Rank 1: Foxflower Sample. Rank 2: Teeny Bite Marks, Chase the Culprit. Rank 3: The Pied Picker

Fjarnskaggl

The Level 3 perk is Fjarnskaggl: Mount quickly after gathering any herb in the Broken Isles.

When completing the quest Vrykul Herblore, players loot three readable books talking about the herb.
The Tangled Beard:

Fjarnskaggl was not always so rare, my child. It was a staple of our culture; to be vrykul was to live among the fjarnskaggl. It lined our beds, it flavored our broth, it warmed our infants.

Now, it dies. It grows in scattered clumps at the edges of our town, never in the neat rows we once repeaed/ Only the most resilient snarl of fjarnskaggl can survive the brisk winds of Stormheim, and none can survive the frigid winters of Northrend.

We lost our way, my daughter. We forgot from once fjarnskaggl came. The herb is a gift from the heavens. Those that smile down on us from above want us to be happy, and one of their gifts is the fjarnskaggl. To harvest fjarnskaggl is to touch the tangled beard of god.

At some point, however, we took their gift for granted. We burned fjarnskaggl when simple straw would do. We fed it to the musk ox. We harvested the herb, then let it rot in storage.

Do not allow yourself to repeat the mistakes of our people, child. Treat the sacred herb of our people with respect, and it may return to our people in its full splendor once again.

The Fjarnskaggl Fjormula:

Do not touch the tips. Touching tips ruins the fjarnskaggl.

Dig out the whole plant. Breaking the plant ruins the fjarnskaggl.

Pull from the base, nearly the root. Stretching the fjarnskaggl ruins the fjarnskaggl.

Do not plant seeds. Fjarnskaggl is not planted. Fjarnskaggl grows where fjarnskaggl grows.

Keep in leather bag. Cloth bag ruins the fjarnskaggl.

Singing to the fjarnskaggl is OK.

Do not let fjarnskaggl get wet. Water ruins the fjarnskaggl.

Ruined fjarnskaggl looks just like regular fjarnskaggl, but is actually ruined.

Herblore of the Ancients:

Only Torgus could gather the fjarnskaggl so deftly. Some argued it was sorcery, others say it was simply a practiced hand. But those who were closest to Torgus knew better.

Torgus had made a deal with a great power. He had read the old passage "Herbs beget herbs", and had seen the two sides of the lesson: Firstly, that planting the herb's seeds would allow more herbs to grow in place of the harvested plant. Secondly, that practice and mastery of herbalistic practices would allow one to, in time, more efficiently harvest.

He also saw a third meaning in the lesson. He saw it as a bargain to be made with the very gods who gave us fjarnskaggl. So Torgus did gather a large pile of fjarnskaggl, wrapped it as a gift, and brought the offering to <The remainder of the book's pages have been ripped out.>

We plan to make sure that an interrupt on Soothing Mist will not lock out your Nature spells.

In the next build, Renewing Mist should not jump unless there is an injured target who does not have your Renewing Mists.

A few more bugfixes that should be in for next build:
--Purge the Wicked spreading to targets that aren't in combat
--Focused Will not proccing on absorbs
--Dispel Magic and Mass Dispel occasionally becoming uncastable
--Resurrection not working at all (all healer specs)
Light's Wrath is intended to Atone, but will likely be tweaked to remain balanced on a large number of targets.
The trait Share in the Light (gives you 15% of PW:S when you PW:S an ally) is proccing the Shield Discpline talent (refund 1% mana when PW:S is consumed).

I'm assuming this is a bug because it's ridiculously easy for the self-shield to get consumed.

In regards to tank healing, I am very much a fan of "Many hits to be killed, many heals to be healed." This adds variety and allows the engaging task of healing prioritization (i.e. what makes healing fun).

Most of the posts on here have pretty much already spelled out the problem which is scaling. Once you start scaling these heals more than you scale the HP pools, you run into near instant top offs. Then this begins the slippery slope of competitive (raids) top offs, and the trivialization of mechanics. Then the mechanics become more bursty to make healing more engaging and the cycles repeat.

More attention needs to be paid to ensuring that the gear scaling doesn't lead to instant topping off, so that encounter design no longer needs to keep ratcheting damage to extremely bursty levels. Exponential gear curves work great for DPS, but terrible for healing and tanking. We are of a symbiotic relationship in this regard.

I echo the sentiments of other tanks in this thread regarding the removal of active mitigation abilities. Being responsible for accurately recognizing and appropriately responding to potential threats is fun, is engaging, and does not need to be changed. Requiring active responses to incoming damage increases the skill cap, and is one of the things that allows good tanks to outshine other more mediocre players.

As dps, are you helping tanks with stuns, interrupts, and dispels? Are you helping healers by monitoring your own health and have knowledge and awareness about using your own personal defensive and healing cooldowns?

As a tank, are you helping healers by active mitigation, interrupts, positioning, and rolling your cooldowns effectively? Are you helping dps by maintaining aggro and utilizing dps boosts when they make sense? Etc...

Looking forward to it.

I have two main specs: Tanking and Healing. I don't consider either of them an "Off Spec". I aggressively keep my gear on par between specs so that that my raid leader can use me to viably fill either role depending on who wasn't able to make it to the raid.

I was doing this in the days before Blizzard introduced dual spec, in the days where gold was harder to come by. I was still spending several hundred gold per week (I remember in BC rolling an alt to max level for the only purpose of farming mats and gold to pay for this.)

The gold to switch, however, is only a minor inconvenience compared to the need to port to the nearest trainer, respec, reconfigure actionbars, talents, and appropriate macros, and then travel back to the raid group (if there's no warlock in the group, Meeting Stones will make a difference).
I had to maintain a system of documents, screenshots, lists, and checklists to make sure that I was able to switch specs quickly.

In my current progression group, depending on which roles we need to PUG and how long they stay, it is not uncommon for me to change specs several times during a single 2 hour raid. (PUGging stinks, but when our usual guy is on vacation, or new job/school schedule, it happens.)

Removing this feature would a huge step backwards for me, and significant loss of QoL in my regular gameplay. I'm not looking forward to it.Comment by AtratzuI am a dwarf Hunter, i want a rifle ! This is already a thousand times better than Warlords.Comment by 1461775The changes to herbalism sound neat. Hopefully Archaeology will get some updates, too, because right now it's brutally tedious. Working on getting the pristine versions of each artifact requires you to get lucky with three steps of RNG: A. get the right faction's dig sites to spawn, B. get the right project to come up, and then C. hope it's pristine. Ugh. There has to be a better way, like having a couple dig sites in each zone at all times or something.

yeah, having a spec swap cost gold is a bad idea. Making it harder for a tank or healer to have a secondary spec isn't going to encourage more people to play those roles.
