Did I misread the notes? Didn't they say they were "considering action" and not definitely implementing it?
I'm doing the same thing, but I'm taking a slightly more balanced approach.
I have 5 toons at 100 with L3 garrisons. Going from 90-100, you make roughly 10k gold from questing and associated activities, and, if you continue to run missions on the benched toons, they can max out at 10k GR by the time they get to 100.
When each hit 100, I made sure they had all of the following at L3:
Storehouse (15+ work orders, reagent bank access)
Barracks (5+ followers)
Prof building (main prof for each toon's daily CD)
Salvage Yard (making another 200-500g per day, depending on the contents of the crates)
Barn (I've got each garrison staggered so I can group farm 36 cages x 2 alts per day and they're set for a week, producing a TON of fur and leather for crafting)
Inn (treasure hunter followers, treasure missions)
Mine, Garden (for professions, then sell the excess daily in the AH - on my server, I only plant
Frostweed
because it sells for the highest)
The 2nd large building I vary between toons. I have the
Mage Tower, Level 3
on my main. I've found that it's more efficient to farm
Ogre Waystone
s and convert them to
Apexis Crystal
s than it is to do those laborious dailies that I hate doing. I can queue up 36 work orders here and forget about it for a while. As a by-product, the Mage Tower also gives me rush orders for garrison missions, so I can process more of those.
I started off like you, just with the work orders, but I worked a little harder this weekend, balancing primal spirits with mats and found I could make a lot more in the AH by buying raw mats and converting them. I think I turned over 20k gold just today by spending an extra hour or so on autopilot crafting. (I'd already made 25k since reset on Tuesday.)
If I can keep that up, and if Blizz does do the "diminishing returns" thing, then it shouldn't hurt as badly. I don't get as many gold missions as I ought to anyways, based on what I'm running, so I can't see it hurting.
By the way, I highly recommend
GarrisonCommander
for automating the missions and balancing priorities on what you want to focus on.

I have 11 Level 100, the whole team is so self-sustained that I don't take heed how many golds I have a long time ago.

I do agree with the general idea of nerfing Treasure Hunters, though I think there's better ways than to add diminishing returns on Treasure Hunters (instead just flat-nerf and buff up some of the lower reward missions like with GR missions? Idk).
This is because the rationale is probably poorly directed. While gold-awarding missions are currency-rich and take little time to do, thus making it a simple way to make money with a fleet of alts, there are actually even better methods of making gold through the Garrison (with a lot of characters)
as I've observed
. While the methods I list may be hit a little due to 6.2 changes, there may need to be further nerfs to Garrison rewards from sources such as Barn work orders, Mine, and Herb Garden.
To rephrase: If it's needed, nerf how rewarding Garrisons are at least to the point that rewards from going into the world are appealing (assuming 6.2 doesn't accomplish this sufficiently).
Edit: Would like to specifically mention if Blizzard is unhappy with how much raw gold is flowing into the economy vs how much gold is being removed (thus causing inflation) and was nerfing things like Treasure Hunters due to that, the nerfs would be considered far more reasonable.

Blizzard really thinks that nerfing how much money alts make from missions will some how make people feel less pressured to manage garrisons on alts.
It is insane..
What is there to do in WoD other then garrisons?
How will blizzard know what toons are alts, and which are mains?

The general idea, based on the Q&A and what 6.2 brings, is to shift gameplay away from the Garrison. It isn't exactly the most exciting and/or engaging piece of content.

Basically, you can probably make an average of 1K per character per day just doing Follower Missions and opening crates and vendoring everything except prof mats.
They're looking at diminishing returns on the missions, on alts.
So maybe, after the nerf, we'll be able to make:
1K, 950g, 900g, 850g, 800g, 750g, 700g, 650g, 600g, 550g
if we do the missions on 10 characters.
So, instead of 10K, we'll get 7.75K.
That's not bad, and doesn't take into account the gold from other sources in the Garrison like the prof buildings, Trading Post etc.

I don't think that's necessarily correct. That's how I initially interpreted it as well, but the wording also may imply that gold-yielding missions (probably by targeting Treasure Hunters) may have diminishing returns regardless of which character is played (AKA Blingtron missions won't give 2k gold anymore) in an attempt to get people to not feel forced to play on a ton of alts to manage missions (even though missions take barely any time out of one's day anyways...)
(Or heavens forbid that that be the way things are done... Punishing people for having alts is not only poor design but outright contradictory of the many changes that attempt to promote alt play by making it less punishing.)

This screenshot
that I literally took just now says otherwise.
Base award -> 100g
Treasure Hunter bonus is additive. Screenshot shows 3. 100g + 300% bonus (300g) = 400g.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt just this once, but the missions and/or Treasure Hunters haven't been nerfed (yet).
(Edit: If you're talking about Inn 3 missions, no values from what I can tell were altered there either.)

They didn't nerf treasure hunters, though that was what I understood them to say they were thinking of doing, instead they nerfed the number of high gold treasure missions you get on a single BattleNet account. So, before the nerf, I would normally get gold missions of 100g or more on at least half my alts, and pretty much all of my alts would have 3 to 8 gold missions every day to run. (I have a level 3 inn so at least one of those missions comes from that achievement). After the nerf, the first 5 or 6 alts who do their missions still get 3 to 8 gold missions, with a good portion of them being 100g or more. But, then the diminishing returns kick in and subsequent alts are getting 1 to 3 missions, none of which are more than 100g, most of which are 27 to 40g. Somewhere after 12 or so alts, they do not get more than 1 gold mission per alt (and that is the one guaranteed to come up due to the level 3 inn, so worth 100g or less, and often only taking 2 followers so fewer chances to use Treasure Hunter). There are also fewer high gold missions as the week goes on, even for the first few characters running their missions, so maybe they have a weekly reset for the higher gold missions as well on a per account basis. The more alts you have, the more you have been penalized by the nerf, even though they did not give any of those alts a break on the time or costs involved in having a fully tricked out level 3 garrison.
If you only have a handful of alts, you probably aren't noticing much of a drop in gold output, but if you run a lot of alts (which Blizz has encouraged over the years, with suggestions to "try a new race, class, or faction", or with achievements that can only be done by having several alts), then you can see a huge difference in the amount of gold you now get for the same effort. I wouldn't object, if they also cut way down on the time and money it takes to keep up with alts. It feels like an unfair penalty at the moment, just because I enjoy having a stable of alts to play on (all of which I had level 90 before WoD came out).

That seems about right. Out of curiosity to see if the data is consistent with mine, where do you think the most impacting part of the nerf is in terms of gold made? For me, it seems to be the crates more than the actual missions (or lack of gold-yielding ones) themselves.
Edit: Incidentally, one thing worth noting is the sheer amount of gold made from other activities, such as gathering from the Garrison and the Barn that now always yields 1 Savage Blood per work order (with a follower working there) seems to more than make up for the nerfs... at least for now until people inevitably go inactive again and demand for goods decreases...

Except before nerf I earned 10k on my toons and now its more like 3k...

With my 6 garrisons, I broke 10k for the week this morning off of just garrison missions. That's since Tuesday - I track from reset to reset.
I haven't done any AH, hardly any dailies, or anything else worthwhile this week...I've gotten kinda bored and I'm not doing much at all in WoW right now.
