* Flash of Light and Holy Light will now work properly with castsequence macros.
* Seal of the Crusader: This ability now increases the damage dealt by Crusader Strike by 40%.
* Crusader Strike (Retribution) will now properly receive a damage increase from Seal of The Crusader.
* Talent: Precision (Ranks 1-3) will no longer improperly display daggers and staves as a weapon class in the tooltip.
* Paladins that already have Apprentice Riding skill can now properly learn Summon Warhorse from the trainer.
Ok, some fairly innocuous buffs/fixes. Only one thing stands out to me;
* Seal of the Crusader: This ability now increases the damage dealt by Crusader Strike by 40%.
I have to ask; Why? This is a pointless buff. When I first read it I thought, "Wow! Awesome! Judgment of the Crusader is even more hotsauce!" Before I realized it is the
seal
that yields the damage buff.
So why, when Paladin DPS and Burst relies on SoComm/SoBlood, would any self-respecting paladin run around using SotCrusader?
Anyhow, thought that was awful weird...

No, no. I understand it's a fix, I am just asking "Why?" This is so pointless. No Paladin ever uses SotCrusader except for It's judgment. Unless they plan to make Crusader Strike trainable at level 4 so that little paladin nubs can run around using SotCrusader because they don't know better.
Meh.

but seriously, who would use seal of crusader / crusader strike in PVE content or PVP content?
I have no data whatsoever to back this up, but it seems like SotC + regular weapon damage + CS would add up to a steady stream of damage, which might equal better overall DPS compared to white damage + SoCommand proc + CS. After all, at rank 7, you're adding 474 attack power and attacking 40% faster. So, it could be a better way to DPS for PvE situations.
Again, that's just the first thing that popped into my head, and most likely not correct. Just a theory.

The only prob with that is under SotC each of the paladins additional attacks hit for less and less, i have watched this and i think its like a 20% drop with each swing. Plus if u look at ur stats when u pop SotC ur ap goes way up but ur damage range goes down a nice sized chunk, that because of the increased attack speed im guessing, like i said SotC is only good for the first swing,so it really fits with just CS'n once with this seal lol.
40% attack speed for 20% less damage...I'm not even going to try and crunch the numbers, but to me it looks like more damage. Activate SotC then look at your DPS. I guarantee it's higher when the seal is active than it is with no seal.
Like I said, this would be effective for instances/raiding/boss fights where you don't want spiky threat that will pull aggro off of the tank and on to you.

Okay, there is alot of confusion and mis-information here. Let me help clarify =P
Seal of the Crusader Rank 7
210 Mana
Instant cast
Fills the Paladin with the spirit of a crusader for 30 sec, granting 474 melee attack power. The Paladin also attacks 40% faster, but deals less damage with each attack. Only one Seal can be active on the Paladin at any one time.
Unleashing this Seal's energy will judge an enemy for 20 sec, increasing Holy damage taken by up to 219. Your melee strikes will refresh the spell's duration. Only one Judgement per Paladin can be active at any one time.
You hit SotC, you gain 474 AP, 40% faster weapon speed, however your attacks deal less damage. It's hard to put a finger on how much damage is lost because a) we don't have the exact number, and b) the AP affects different paladins with different gear differently. If I had 100 AP and used the Seal, I would gain a much better boost in damage than, say, a paladin with 1000 AP.
However, it is somewhere between 15-25%ish in damage. Yes, using SotC will give you better damage than without it,
HOWEVER
there are better options for Retadins.
The largest problem people are forgetting is that SotC increases
physical
damage. Thus, mitigated by armor. Lets say, for the sake of argument, SotC gives X Paladin a 25% damage boost. Against a Warrior with 50% damage reduction, it's already a 12.5% damage boost. This is why SotC is worse than Command or Righteousness. Even against Clothies, you want to burst them down as quickly and painfully as possible, thus making this seal even worse.
The only prob with that is under SotC each of the paladins additional attacks hit for less and less, i have watched this and i think its like a 20% drop with each swing.
Definitely your imagination. There is no diminishing returns effect on SotC =P Just the flat damage reduction.
This makes no sense to me. While SotC raises your overall DPS, it does so by greatly boosting your AP and swing speed, but then reduces your weapon damage substantailly. The end result is that each swing does less than it would without the seal on; there are just more of them. So only allowing one white damage hit with SotC on is actually a worst-case scenario: you get a lower-damage white hit, without any of the following hits to make up for it with their increased DPS. In other words, SotC has more value the more hits you get in with it on, since it works by boosting your damage over time rather than your per-swing damage.
What he meant by "first swing only" was that you run in, put on SotC, use Crusader Strike, judge them, then use SoCommand for the rest of the fight. This will get you an extra 40% damage on your fir CS.
Hope that helped. You really don't even need to do the math, SoCommand/Blood/Righteousness wins clearly for flat DPS, even against lower armor targets. Go and grind for an hour with SotC, then an hour with SoCommand and you will certainly see the difference. They are different seals for different purposes. I suppose, used
flawlessly
a really skilled paladin could always get +40% damage to his CS by using SotC first, but honestly, that would be way too mana/time intensive.
