or my brain is fried & it's 10 seconds...but I don't think so.

When Warriors get 'Zerker stance they also get the ability "Intercept", which is like charge but can be used in combat. A warrior can't get this ability until level 30, I believe, and you have to complete a quest to boot. Maybe your experience with multiple Charges was at a higher level?
Are you being charged multiple time as a 10-19? To be "out of combat" I think you have stop targeting and re-target after going "out of combat" with your opponent, as well. Your UI will tell you when you've left combat. This is quite tricky, something i was never able to do at that level myself. But I am not all that good in PvP.

I think the 10 seconds thing came from my memories of the "Stealth" ability rogues have -- it's probably the most important reason for any class to get out of combat (and yeah, yeah I guess druids, too).
