So I just finished the Kanrethad warlock quest .... it took me awhile. Largely in part because I was following Pre-5.4 patch guides which I still greatly appreciate as they had macros and such that were quite helpful.
If I could attribute my success at the end to a few things they would be as follows ( these are things I haven't seen posted specifically already )
1. Enslave pitlord and make a moveto macro. As soon as you enslave, move him to the far side of your gateway portal ( assuming you have set it up to LOS chaos bolt ) stand on the other side of the gateway and put him on passive. Once you do that, set up another macro and bind immolate and his fel flame breathe to the same key. Every time you use immolate he will cast fel flame breathe on you. This REALLY helped me stop worrying about singe magic and unbound will and so I respec'd and used the Sac bubble talent instead. He pretty much never moved except during fel hunter stage. It might have been a loss of DPS on the boss, but I wasn't having a problem damaging the boss. I would have taken out about 20% of his life in the first 20-30 seconds before things go crazy so once I realized the Pitlord would do me better if he just stayed the hell out of the way and cleansed me, things actually got a lot easier for me.
2. Chaos Bolt - There are three columns to the left of the soulwell if you are looking straight at it, I put my teleport right up in the corner of the first one closest to the soulwell. Then I dropped a gateway so it lined up with the 2nd column. I bound my teleport to a key and I got the gateway glpyh so it activated when I ran through it as well. I found that the gateway sometimes would be on cooldown or would bug when I tried to spam click on it, I died actually several times from that not working, so for that reason I made a macro with my Sac Bubble and Twilight Ward in case I couldn't get to the teleport or the gateway didn't work when he cast Chaos Bolt
3.The Fel hunter stage was always the worst for me. The last thing that I did that made the difference is putting Pit Lord behind the column 2 with my gateway as soon as the cataclysm spell was cancelled. Then I put Fire and Brimstone on, and started up my Rain of Fire Buff over the portal for the fel hunters coming out. I used my AOE stun on the first one and put havoc on it. Then targeted the next one and spammed Chaos bolt and conflagrated twice. That was usually enough to kill two straight up but I am glyphed for havoc so I might have used incinerate once or twice as well depending on which wipe and what crits I had so I do recommend that glyph. Then I burned through the last fel hunter and immediately moved towards one of my two gateway/portals and as I was moving I had to use my Petmoveto function to get my pet moving his butt to the middle of the room to interrupt the cataclysm that was going to happen soon after.
As I mentioned, I found the fel hunter stage the hardest. Once I had my portal issues resolved ( i.e. not working or on cooldown, and/or always too far to portal when Chaos Bolt started casting ) to LoS the Chaos Bolt ( which is what I mainly died from the most, followed by the dots eating me alive not dispelling enough ), the only problem I had left was managing the 3 fel hunters because my dps is not that great or high. I tried banishing one to avoid the damage but it wasn't worth it. I personally popped cooldowns to get rid of them asap because this is NOT a dps race honestly. It's more about surviving and I already had him at about 50% during the fel hunter stage so I knew if I could rid of those I could live through the next two stages. So after the fels came the Doom dude. I banished him the whole time for the most part. I also re-enslaved the pit lord as he was coming out. The imps came out quite quickly by this point and this was the best thing that could have happened because when they came out, I cast RoF and targeted the boss and shadow burned like my life depended on it. So my best advice is survive firstly, and try to have him burned to sub 20% by the time the imps come out so you can use RoF for ember replenishment and follow that with shadow burn like hell on the boss.
The last thing I recommend is if you are using a custom UI like bartender, I made all my pet macros and put them on a bar to themselves and hid the default pet bar. I have never used CTRL modifiers because it's very awkward for my hand. If it works for you great. The reason I made my own bar was to get rid of the buttons I didn't want to use at all like aggressive and cleave since it was automatic. It was just my preference though and as I said, I bound all of his abilities to my F, G, T, V, R buttons.
I screen shot my UI/setup if anyone wants to see it but as I am a new user it seems I can't link it =\ I guess message me if you want to see it.
Here are some other guides I used and the macros I used are found on some of these guides as well:

Any questions feel free to ask. Pardon bad grammar and spelling, I typed this in a hurry to get on with my life after wasting several hours of it yesterday. It doesn't mean I'm right and every other way is wrong, so if you want to troll feel free but I doubt I'll be back to respond :) I hope this helps someone. Good luck!
