Got hacked. Blizzard seems none responsive after a few days.

Basically over a year ago I was hacked but I wasnt playing at the time and didnt notice. Now im trying to get my account back and restore my characters. I used the automated recovery form but I have not received an email from blizzard as confirmation. I found this odd because the instructions said they would send a confirmation email. I looked around and there is a lot of posts saying how unreliable the account recovery is. I cannot submit a ticket or call customer service. How can I know if my account is being restored if they dont send me an email? I have a bad feeling about it. Some people say you might have to wait weeks for a recovery. I know I should be patient but I feel kinda bad about waiting weeks for character recover without even a confirmation email that something is happening.
If you were hacked, they may have changed the confirmation email. At this point, you'll have to wait till Monday, give them a call, make sure to have your CD Keys and start the process that way.

Yeah people like to whine and blame Blizzard for their lack of ability to secure their own computer.
Basically in the space of a year a lot of things could have happened to your account.
Have you done the usual things like check your spam filters etc?
I don't know how long it takes them to read a recovery request, but general customer service can take a couple of days before a ticket is addressed.
Your best bet is to call them.
Recovery can take upto 14 days or something in that ballpark.
I was hacked back in Wrath and it took over a week to get my things back, although the account was restored to me very quickly, the items lost took some time for them to trace and return.

The email address on your account could have been changed when it was 'hacked'.
As JKPman pointed out your best bet is to call Blizzard.
Im not sure you can call unless they give you a number, I don't think they have a public number to call.
They removed the option to call them and wait on hold. But you can reques that they Clark you or do live chat.
