Okay. I've tried looking up topics on this for some answers, but couldn't find any. I'm an iLevel 513 Blood spec Death Knight. My issue is that I have really low DPS. I'm mainly tank geared, yes, but its still extremely low. Like.. Im only hitting 25k DPS, and im hearing that other Blood tanks are getting 50-75k DPS. I am dual spec'd for Frost, and I'm only doing about 35k in that (Probably because im tank geared, but eh. Should still be better). I'm using a good rotation, tree, and glyph setup I got from noxxic, also. Why is it so low? What can I do to fix it? Could my low DPS be affecting the fact I can't hold aggro all too well, and suck at tanking?

Go to Icy-veins and look there....you've got so many badly gemmed pieces it's hurts the eyes man. You are over the hit cap by 3% so that's a waste. No enchants, glyphed wrong for Blood tanking.
There's the link for gems/enchants
,
talents/glyphs
and
stat priority
. Please study those lol, cause your set up hurts.

Death n Decay & Rune Strike are your main aggro abilities, you should be hitting for around 30/40k with just rune strike.

Bad gems and enchants isn't enough to account for that much of a difference in DPS. What rotation are you using, exactly?

In general you should use a rune strike macro bound to a often used skill like "death strike" or something like this.
What? Both of those skills have a GCD, the only way to use them together would be something like a castsequence macro, which wouldn't work very well anyway since Blood DKs gain RP erratically thanks to
.
Your DPS itself aren't import in the beginning. Only in the endgame content this matters.
I'm an iLevel 513 Blood spec Death Knight.
Pretty sure they're already in endgame content.

That said it's all about context. If you have a raid boss that is hitting you for a lot, you will do a lot of dps naturally due to the high amount of AP from Vengeance.
I'm less geared then you, but can easily go over 60k DPS in a single target fight due to the vengeance bonus.
The only thing YOU can do to make sure your DPS (thus threat) increases is make sure you're hitting the right abilities.
The most common ways to lose out damage as a newer player is:
- Leaving a whole set of runes up unused (e.g. 2 blood runes are up)
- Capping out on Runic Power
- Not using Crimson Scourge procs
- Not using DnD on single target
- Dropping diseases

I agree with Nythiz, seems like you just arent optimizing your rune usage. Either way dont worry about your dps as a tank for right now. Worry about staying alive optimizing blood shield usage and working plague leech into a single target rotation(although many just say forget it and use rolling blood 90% of the time).
As you get more gear and start building vengeance simply becasue you are getting hit harder your dps will go up. Should also fix some of your reforges because they arent helping you at all.

I know as Blood your not suppose worry about DPS but what is a realistic number that you should be putting down when say... Soloing old content.

The stuff dies; that's all you need to worry about, that it all falls down before enrage timers activate.

Depends on the sort of content. With a few exceptions, pretty much everything up to Wrath 10-mans doesn't really care about your DPS because you'll probably beat the enrage timer as long as you don't fall asleep at the keyboard. Only exceptions that come to mind are Twin Emperors (you have to beat their heals), Sartharion+3D (becomes invulnerable after 75 seconds), and Algalon (explodes you if you get 5 stacks of the debuff). For Wrath 25-mans and above, it depends on the fight.
I don't think I needed more than 100k DPS for anything I've done in Wrath, aside from 25-man Sarth (which I did as Frost).
