Hello everyone,
As I see there are lots of topics like this, I did read most of them. I did read guides, forums etc. I did ask to my friends too. But I still couldn't solve my dps problem yet. :(
Now I have 536 ilvl gear, I joined WoW 5 months ago and it is my first character. People see my gear and complaining about my dps, cause I do about 100k on raids. It's between 75 and 120k without Aoe. With dummies max 125k.
How much dps should be normal for 536ilvl retri pally?
My rotation is exactly the same like all guides say.
Here is my armory link;

If you have any advice which could be useful I appreciate that.
Thank You all in advance.

Or shouldn't I complain about it? Is this dps normal for my ilvl because of ret pallies have been nerfed?

At your ilvl you could be doing a bit more yeah... 150-200k should not be out of the question, singletarget, depending on the fight (and its gimmicks)
I see you still have the T15 legs, if you still have one other item of the set to give you the 2P bonus, that would probably be an upgrade to your dps, even if it'll drop your ilvl a bit.
Other than that, your "rotation" might not be optimal. You could try CLCRet as an addon, I find it pretty helpful in getting a good feel for the "rotation". I use the "" because it's not set in stone, it's more of a priority list

Thx for your reply. Sorry forgot to say that I already use CLCRet too, and as you say it's a really big help but still can't increase my damn dps lol.
P.S.: Your link to your pala doesn't work ;)

Thanks for the tip, I've updated the link so it should work now.
Well, CLCRet is just a tool and it works best if you tweak it to your specific needs. Have you simmed your character on Simcraft to get some stats to work with from there?
Also, what CLCRet won't tell you, but you should be doing, is to stack your cooldowns. Inquisition>STR Potion>Guardian>(ideally wait a few seconds to get your stacks up)>Avenging Wrath>Trinkets> Execution Sentence/Hammer of Light.

Hello!
So, my main is a holy paladin, but I've been running ret for certain fights in SoO (I was running ret for our first Garrosh normal kill).
Your gear is itemized just fine, enchants and gemming look just fine.
There are three main things that I can see that could help your DPS....
1) Glyph of Inquisition is a large DPS nerf. Just Double Jeopardy. You may use less holy power on inquisition, but that extra 15% is huge. This is your biggest priority for a change.
2) One of your professions in mining; this will leave you with lower DPS. If you have an alt with mining, or enough money to support your JC without mining. Tailoring and Engineering are theoretically the best. Personally, I use blacksmithing and JC.
3) Divine Purpose. Most sites suggest using Sanctified Wrath. However, I use Divine Purpose as well. It requires very specific usage at certain haste levels, but Divine Purpose can trash Sanctified Wrath for most SoO fights. The trick is to not blow every Divine Purpose proc immediately. If you have exorcism or hammer up, use them first then blow your DP proc. If used properly, and if you have enough haste, you can have DP procs rolling for the majority of the fight time.
Now three other smaller things that you probably already do, but will significantly increase DPS if you are not.
- Make sure you have both Avenging and Guardian available for hero/timewarp/lust. When popping both of these for lust, make sure you also pop a Stength Potion; you would be surprised how much extra dps you can manage with proper potion usage.
- Make use of Avenging and Guardian at proper timing through each fight. Don't let Avenging sit around too long, unless waiting to pop with with Guardian. And Guardian should only ever be on CD if hero/timewarp/lust is very very near.
- Hammer of Light. It's a great tool, with great utility (dps, healing, and slowing). But it's much weaker and harder to use for single target DPS. Personally, I use Executioner's Sentence for maximum single target sustain, Hammer for fights where healing and AoE damage/slowing of adds is more valuable, and Prism where burst is more valuable than sustain. That said, Executioner's is going to be your best bet by default for maximum dps on any fight. ESPECIALLY if timed properly with the tail end of your Guardian buff.
Best of luck! Ret is a fantastic spec, don't get down on it. Not only can you offer competative sustained DPS, your single target and AoE burst or godlike. You also bring fantastic utility (Hands, Devo Aura and personal survivability).

TY for your advices and detailed answer.
I agree with you, I am going to change Glyph of Inq asap to Double Jeopardy. But I can not leave mining, cause this is my only character and I need lots of ores for JC :)
And for the last I'm gonna change it to Executioner's Sentence, I hope that it makes a difference than Hammer.
Please share your armory and tell your dps, so I can see how bad or good I am :)
Thnaks, happy gaming...
I did try Holy Avenger before but Divine Purpose's procs are more helpful. I can test Sanctified Wrath too, if it helps to increase DPS I will let you know...
I made a macro to use Avenging, Guardian and Mogu power together on cd's. It helps alot.

We both have similar gear, you have the 4p set thats better I know :) Please tell me your DPS on raids.
P.S.: Why don't you fix your hit and exp caps to 7,50? So you can have some more haste or dmg ;)
Do you think that Repentance is better than Fist of Justice?

well, between the 4P and legendary Cloak and Meta Gem I do between 150-200K, depending on the fight and it's mostly just the LFR fights too
And I'm currently way overcapped because I have some bad luck with drops... the gear Im wearing is the best setup I have now and it just comes with so much hit and exp that I can't reforge any more away than I have now.... with some luck, Galakras will leave me his eye next week ;)
And it's not per se, I hardly ever use the talents on that tier, but I switch them as needed. I don't remember the fight, but Repentance was what was needed and FoJ is something I would use when more stuns are needed
