Crit or haste?
Return to board index
hi i was just wondering on the threads ive read for hunters the stat priority for a survival hunter is 7.5% expertise, 7.5% hit Crit,Haste, and mastery. so i was just wondering after i get the 7.5 in Exp.and hit do ijust keep reforging to crit or at some point do i start to go with haste when do i switch and stop stcking crit ? thanks for help in advance
There is no breakpoint for hunter crit so stack crit. the haste you get on your gear should surfice and depending on your class arcane shot on bm hunter is an instant shot so is kill command ect so its not as good as crit.
There is no breakpoint for crit, that is correct (well technically there is, but its unachievable this exp).
The thing is you want to balance crit with haste or mastery, as simulations (or rather, advanced calculations) have shown time and again over the entire expansion that 50X+50Y > 100X or 100Y.
You want to focus on crit, and as SV you want to focus on haste if your offspec is MM, and probably mastery of your offspec is BM. BM has a greater benefit from haste in 5.4 than in 5.0-5.3 (without RPPM trinkets), but less than in 5.2-5.3 WITH RPPM trinkets.
As WizzardlordUK says, a lot of the damage a BM outputs ins't directly affected by haste, though reducing the casttime on CoS has become more valuable with the increased focus cost of AS (meaning there will be more CoS then pre 5.4).
As BM you could also prio mastery over crit (after getting to ~20-25% crit) - mastery is consistent damage increase, while crit is a bit more RNG. Mastery does not apply to your own shots though (but that is made up for by the increased value of mastery over crit in terms of rating:percent).
