I'm not really familiar with shamans, but the DPS specs are basically this:
2h Frost = big attacks (I switched to Unholy for my DPS spec early in the expansion, but even in 460ish gear I was critting for over 200k with Obliterate)
DW Frost = lots of smaller attacks
Unholy = diseases and pet damage
All of them are perfectly viable (DW Frost isn't so good before you get Threat of Thassarian
, but that's just a matter of switching weapons), so you'll be fine with any. Personally, Blood is my favorite for solo play, with the whole "I can pull the entire zone at once and not die" thing it has going on, but if you're planning on leveling through dungeons as a tank you might want to get used to your core abilities first, because by the level you'll be starting at most people are going to be really impatient if you aren't speed-running everything.

I haven't played melee shaman since forever, but as far as I can remember it feels not even near to playing a dk.
Like voodoo already said, you have 3 possibilitys with the 2 dd speccs: 2h Frost, DW Frost and Unholy. If you want to play arena at a higher rating, lets say about 1.8k+, you'll want to play Unholy. If you just wanna crush some guys with double DD "burst'em down", then you might want to play 2h Frost.
Gernerally the 2h Frost is the easiest, cause you pretty much have Obliterate > Froststrike > Howling Blast, doesn't matter if it proccs or not. DW Frost is just a bit different, you value Froststrikes higher, but since I don't play DW you might wanna just look it up in a guide since I dont know the exact priority on this one.
Unholy is a bit more complicated, but very very powerful in pvp due to
and the glyph Glyph of Icy Touch
you pretty much wreck every healer. You also have nice pet dmg, a additional stun on the evolved pet, a gargoyle who shoots at the enemy, and a lot of cool other stuff :P
The Blood DK is my current main, and its amazing if you want to run stuff solo. Since you also play him with a 2h weapon you can push sick dps numbers while healing yourself like a madman with Death Strike
If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask, otherwise just try the dk out, have fun and enjoy the game!
