I thought since I'm trying to be a serious raider, I need to work on my UI. I'm basically using default UI, with some changes via bartender.
I'd really like to have great buff/debuff/DOT display. I play 1920x1080, ultra graphics settings, and buffs, debuffs, DOTs are TINY. Anyway, I recall seeing a player vid and the guy had rather large DOT indicators with either tick or second counts. I mean, these DOTs were huge. Since I'm playing classes with important DOTS (ele shaman, balance druid, shadow priest, and perhaps affliction lock and fire mage in the future), the DOTs display are of particular importance. Also, with the millions of proc effects thanks to trinkets, proc enchants, etc. being able to monitor more closely (esp. for DOT snapshotting on aff lock) without having to scan the two+ rows of tiny buffs quite as hard as I have been.
Probably using addon "weak auras" or " "power aura (5)" its maybe more for advanced users, however there are plenty of settings out there that can be imported in and then customised to your own liking.
Basically what this addon does is lets you show and customize any buff/debuff size, picture, count up, countdown, stacksize.
I for instance personaly use weak aura and have it tell me / show me when my demonic fury reaches 900 so i change into meta then it also tells me when my demonic fury goes below 750 so i can drop out of meta.
It's a realy good tool if you want to really maximize your dps, keep an eye on any buffs/debuffs stack cooldowns.
I run with needtoknow and customize it on each character/spec i want it for :D
TellMeWhen is another good option for this type of display
