[Suggestion] Unique Appearance
Return to board index
A pair of new item filters, Unique Model and Unique Texture.
I second this
This has come up before, and I looked into what we'd have to do to find uniquely-modeled items. The queries to find items that share their model with no other items turn out to be quite compute-intensive and would take a couple minutes to complete, way too long for a web page and bogging down our database while they ran.
Part of the reason is just the nature of the query (for every qualifying item, count how many other items have that slot but not that model), and part is that the indexes to support such queries would take up a bunch of space and not be useful for much else. Plus, models and textures are spread out in where they're stored: weapons are stored one way, most armor stored another.
So, it would be cool, but there's no feasible way to do it at this time. I'll keep an eye on it, though, in case something else comes along that makes this possible.
Would it be possible to run those queries once on your end and then make a manual flag for all the items it turns up?
