The 5.4 Food chain is as follows:
Second Wind ticks too fast and forces a warrior to constantly regenerate himself out of execute range if he gets low... Not so bad in arena but needs to be on this list.
- Two charges
- 30sec Leap
- Bladestorm doing tons of damage again
- Two interrupts
- Intervene breaking roots
- Two spell reflects
- Deep Wounds ticks incredibly hard and can be applied by Thunderclapping people.
Oh yeah and I remember when you were supposed to try to hit people in the back but you could land attacks from the front sometimes - now you can't, seems all Plate Strength DPS got a huge Parry buff the same way agi classes get passive dodge from gearing agility.
#2 Death Knights
You can also see people running 2x Blood DK in 2v2 Arena just to exploit the 'Crowd Chooses You'
I'm actually not sure of who to put at #3 and onwards. I know Warriors and DKs are the kings of 2v2 arena right now, often coupled with a Disc, Holy Paladin or Druid healer. I guess three is#3 Hunters.
Despite feeling a big nerf as Readiness was removed, but they're still extremely powerful.Instant CC:Scatter ShotFreezing TrapSome kind of instant Pet CC, 4sec long usuallyBinding Shot, pretty cool spell thoughRanged interrupt of course (If you're MM)
I'm sure there's some instant CC I've missed. A lot are alternate talent choices.
So they'll harass your healer, preventing any solid casting and locking them out for a good 14-18 seconds each CC chain
Damage is still high, Roar of Sac
and Pet Freedom
still as powerful as ever. Always kill pets.At #4 I'd put Druids
- currently 75% of Druid specs are viable in arena. Heart of the Wild is the most OP ability in the game thus far, tied with Symbiosis. I mean seriously, you give an Ele shaman your Solar Beam
! Nerf.At #5, Priests
- mostly Disc and Holy ones. Basically Priests are king of the healers right now it seems. They still die when focused hard but it takes a lot of DPS and usually involves Necrotic Strikes from a DK.At #6 Shaman.
They may be the easiest healers to kill due to lack of escape mechanisms and a lot of talent choices focused around soaking huge amounts of damage and healing through, Ele and Enhance are doing fiiiine, and again all three specs are now viable. Enhance pops Ascendance, Stormstrike
and someone gets 1shot.
Don't need to go into detail about Ele shaman. They're so boring! They sorta feel like the clone troopers with how standard their damage loadout is as Elemental. Anyways.#7 is Warlocks
and their INSANE amount of healing, control and damage.
They're basically a template 3v3 team: Find a warlock and a healer and go play 3s and get higher rating than you deserve!
All three specs work, Demo isn't very popular but still gets some air time. Destro warlocks still crit 30% of your HP with a standard Chaos Bolt.
I think if I were to finish this list it'd be -8 - Paladin
9 - Monk
10 - Rogue
11 - Mage
I dunno I think I'd need to actually think this all out and plan it properly but yeah, this is a basic draft of PvP 5.4 MoP.
To answer your question
whats best pvp class for 5.4?
It depends on the Role you want to fill. All classes are powerful when played correctly and a skilled player on a low-tier class can always slay a high-tiered Fotm reroller.
So if you wanna go Melee DPS big 2hander squishing healers, grab a Warrior
or Death Knight
. Ranged DPS you'll want a Warlock
- if not, try Hunter
, or even Ele Shaman
. There are a lot of options here. If you wanna play a Healer, go with a Priest
. If you can't work Priest
(you have to play well to survive in a lot of situations, if you're not quite ready for that, go Paladin
. If Druid
, learn to kite. If Paladin
, learn to fake cast and know how well you can stay alive without casting.
