Staffs & Wands Damage work on spells?
Return to board index
I am wondering if the damage listed with say either a staff, or wand (magical items vs. normal hand to hand combat items like swords, daggers, etc.) only applies if I am physically beating someone with the weapon or will the damage listed to the item apply to my spells as well?
I assume it applies to my spells as well correct?
Thx All! Much Appreciated & Have fun! ;)
Sorry, Hunting, but the only damage benefit your spells gain from your weapon are derived from intellect or spellpower. The damage range listed in white, i.e. 106-161 for
is only used when you physically strike something with your staff.
The same counts for wands, even though you're shooting magical bolts. However, wand damage is affected by your spellpower (though still not viable over normal spellcasting)
Thanks so much for the quick replies! ;) Will help in equipping decisions for sure! Again TY! :)
Well in the long term, you shouldn't have to hit things with a staff, dagger, sword or even wand, anyway :P As I said, casting spells is more effective.
Wow i havent hit something with a wand or staff since i first started wow in 2007. melee hitting for a caster is just not conducive to its class and practicaly any dmg spell will outway any caster melee dps.
