FPS issue, need help!
Return to board index
During 25 man raid my fps goes really low during boss fights, somewhere between 5 and 15 depending on fights. Can you give me any advice on how to fix this?
I have the following config, but I think this should be enough.. :
Win7 64 bit
Intel Core i5 2400 @ 3.10GHz
2048MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 6670 (Gigabyte)
I play in 1920x1080, as this is the native resolution, this is something I'd stick to, other graphic settings are set to low-medium.
It's possible certain addons are causing the DPS loss, try disabling them to see if your FPS increases. If it does enable them one by one till you find the one causing the problems, if not...than you know it's not that.
Do you have vsync on? That could cause it.
I have a similar, albeit older generation setup, compared to you (Core i5 750, 4Gb DDR3, Radeon 6870, Win7 Pro 64bit).
Generally speaking my game runs smooth at 1080p around High detail. However, it does struggle around the Shrine and in LFR.
The big bottleneck for your system is going to be your graphics card. Since patch 5 they enchanced the code to include DirectX 11 features (of sorts). The downfall is that your graphics card has limited cores and memory bus which means it's raw output is around a 25% of my card.
6670: 480 cores, 128bit mem bus, 6.4GP/s fillrate
6870: 1120 cores, 256bit mem bus, 28.8GP/s fillrate
My partners computer is also a Core i5 and she was using a nVidia GTX 550. This ended up her totally avoiding the Shrine due to stop frame animation (around 4fps!). A recent upgrade of her card to a Radeon 7850 (£140 odd) has allowed the game to fly!
try some of these commands, found here:
should lower your graphics a bit, beyond what the settings ingame can. post is from 2009 though, so not you might experience a few commands that dont work.
lower settings in nvidia control center (or equal for amd cards) might work as well (im actually not sure if amd has this.. but nvidia has, and you know, someone else with an fps issue might find this post)
