Removing Cooldowns on tradeskills from previous expantions
Return to board index
I don't know about the rest of you, but this irks me. Trying to get old recipes and work lower level skills and having to waste a CD every day to get it. When I could be using it to make something current.
What good is it doing to keep these around? I am a trade skill person. I have toons of all skills and trying to get the materials to do this can be a pain. An unnecessary pain. I can understand the shared CD's for current content like
Lightning Steel Ingots
Magnificence of Leather
Magnificence of Scales
Scroll of Wisdom
Transmute: Primal Shadow to Water
need to share a CD with
Transmute: Living Steel
? SHould it even have a CD at this point? Should things like
Minor Inscription Research
even have a CD? Bad enough that JC's have to do a daily quest ever day to get one token to buy a recipie for an item that does them no good anymore.
Don't even get me started on Tailoring. All the shared CDs from BC cloths that you no longer specialize in, but you can't benefit from the bags you can make with a skill because how long it would take you to get the special cloths to make bags for all your toons. It is bad enough to get the rep you need for those recipes, but then you have to log into that toon drudgingly ever day and do the deed.
Right now my characters have all but 2 trade skills mastered. I am over 400 on those last 2. And should complete them in the next week or so. So I can get my
Master of All
Why would you need to use the old cooldowns if you cant benefit from them. It dosent help you level the profession. at your level why do you need to Transmute: Primal Shadow to Water? Why are you making (ex. Moocloth) BC bags when its easier to make embersilk or frostweave that dont have any cooldown for the matts and have more space? Just curious..
@Gunstarr- there are a lot of old patterns that people might want for transmog that require materials with a cooldown, and certain pets/mounts/engineering toys that you would still use at max level require elemental components or other cooldowns to make. With the current system in place, people looking to catch up on old vanity items like that have to give up current profession cooldowns to do it.
Personally, I don't know if the old tiers of transmutes and cloth cooldowns should have no cooldown, but I do agree that they shouldn't share a cooldown with the current tier of content.
I get that, and I agree with both points. Like I said just curious why he was doing that he said somthing about bags, and never mentioned vanity items or transmog. just leveling and getting old recipies..
To many of theses posts make it sound like the player is "forced" to as he put it "do the deed".... For a 14 slot BC bag? No I dont think so...
I hate to be a nit picker but afaik the CD's on the BC specialty cloths are gone. They certainly are not sharing a CD with Imperial Silk in any case.
IT would be nice, but Blizzard seems dead set on keeping all transmutes on the same cooldown for ease of programming...
I know at one time blizzard was thinking about splitting the x-mute cd's gems on 1 and Metal/Essences on the other but I think that was scrapped in Cata.
Some of the old cd's need to stay. The Inscription ones have a purpose so want it takes a month or so to get all the patterns learned that's not really that long when you think of want other professions have to go threw to learn things. But I do think the Cata and Older Metal/Gem Cd's should be removed and the cd on the Tailoring Bags.
