The ever changing STATS
Return to board index
I've been playing my disc priest for a while now, but have recently been quite frustrated with the nerf to the class. Without a shadow of a doubt, I agree our class was op pre 5.2 and it deserved to be nerfed but seriously, I think they have taken it a bit too far.
I feel that our class now has steered back to single target healing, where as pre 5.2 we were quite sufficient at BOTH single target and raid healing. I feel that Atonement/Archangel is something we must now incorporate more than ever as where before it was more of a choice. Where once we owned the charts, we are now being overtaken by the dearly beloved op aoe holy priests.
My question to you guys is this, I am currently a 504 raider and would like to know firstly what people are stacking in terms of stats. Pre 5.2 I was full mastery, now i'm crit/mastery due to my heavy use of A/A during low damage phases and when it calls for during certain fights.
My mana regen seems to be fine, I don't tend to oom, my sprit is around 11k, 12k with flask and crit/mastery is sitting just over 25% when raid buffed.
Whilst doing LFR I have noticed full haste builds, crit/mastery and mastery/haste what are your thoughts? I understand that stats are dependant on play style and what not but there seems to be no common denominator.
Noxic and Icey veins seem to suggest int, spirit, crit, mastery then haste. Where as when you look at Mr Robot he offers yet another 3-4 build types to choose from.
Your comments would be greatly appreciated.
For actual healing wise we are single target healers/tank healer, but we can do AOE healing if necessary, we are just better at single target healing.
Disc Priest are about 2 things. A/A and bubbles/shields. A lot of the time we are about preventing damage and putting using a heal/renew afterwards.
Noxic and Icy veins are correct in that order even though Mastery is our number one stat. the reason crit is more important is cause we already have high amount of mastery excluding gear. so we can focus more on crit and haste, though mastery is better then haste.
How I go about it is get enough haste that most cast spell are no longer then 1.3 sec cast time. Which is around the soft cap. Then i reforge/gem/gear for Mastery/Crit, but there is not true on which secondary stat is better, just a matter of preference.
I'm not sure how much HPS you're pulling but if you keeping up with the other healers in your raid group or is doing better, then don't worry about other disc priest. just keep on what your doing.
